  1. As an update. We ended up calling last week on Feb 7th. They told us they did not receive our case. A week later on Feb 14th I got a notification that my check was cashed. We called again today and finally got a receipt number. Still nothing in the mail even though they supposedly sent it out on the 9th. Not quite sure why our case is so delayed compared to some others right now. Regardless it is progress and hopefully the rest of the process proceeds smoothly. I would like to thank everyone for the comments. They have been incredibly helpful.
  2. Yeah it was USPS, we assumed it was due to weather at the time but now not sure. I don't suppose anyone suggests trying to send another? Is there a way to inquire if they got it?
  3. Is it typical for them to process applications so randomly? Several others who sent in their AOS at the same time got replies only a week or 2 later. What concerns me is it took over a week for them to receive it according to tracking despite us sending it by priority.
  4. Hi, On January 5th we sent our AOS packet to the Chicago PO box and have still not received and receipt nor have they cashed the check? Is this normal? We are a bit worried as the k1 visa is up on Feb 15th. Thanks!
  5. Hi! Next week my fiancee will be going through her k1 interview. We are hoping to travel together to the US by mid-late November. I have been living in the Philippines with her and our son, who is about 10months old, for almost an entire year now. So we know we will need to get the CFO for her, and I need an exit interview myself for my Philippine visa. But the question is what for our son? He already has his Certificate of birth abroad and both a US Passport and a Philippines Passport. Does he need anything else before he can leave with us to the US? Sorry if this is a dumb question. Thanks!
  6. Hello everyone! We finally managed to schedule the k1 interview for November 7th. Currently the 3 or us, my fiancee (beneficiary), myself (petitioner), and our 8mo old son (has CRBA) have been living in the Philippines while we undergo the K1 visa process. We are hoping to be able to enter the US before thanksgiving day to spend time with my family during the holidays (my parents have yet to meet their grandchild so I know it will mean a lot to them). We have already completed the DS-160 and scheduled the Medical at St. Lukes for Oct 26th. I am hoping someone could give advice on how to make the remaining process as smoothly as possible to give us the best chance to be able to fly to the US before Thanksgiving day. I am moderately confident we would have the Visa within a week after the interview. I am less confident about the CFO interview. Firstly it seems somewhat difficult to schedule, the apply for OF-CORS interview for example does not appear to work properly at the moment (always seem to say maximum number of clients for this day). Also I am worried about waiting to have visa in hand before scheduling an in person interview out of fear their may not be any available slots left. The other thing I am most worried with regards to the CFO interview, is that from what I understand they may ask for a criminal background check on myself. My criminal background is non existent, ie clean. But when I went to request it from the FBI I noticed they require fingerprints which I am unsure how difficult it would be to obtain while I am still in Philippines. Has anyone been in a similar situation or can offer advice on dealing the the CFO interview? I know others on this forum have been able to enter the US recently within this timeframe after their interview. I am hoping we can do the same. But it is is starting to look like everything is going to have very little room for error to pull off successfully. We still need to obtained a CENOMAR and also my fiancees police clearance. I already have the necessary documents to show I can financially support. Is their anything else I am missing? Any things else we can do today to ensure this process goes smoothly? Thanks!

  8. We finally got our number from the NVC! From what I understand we should now be able to schedule an interview here in Manila. I am sorry if this has been asked before but can someone point me in the right direction for scheduling the K1 visa interview and medical?
  9. Sorry to hear that, at least you got confirmation that your case has been sent to the embassy. The NVC seems very disorganized and inconsistent with how they handle cases.
  10. We got our NVC received august 23rd. We put in another inquiry on the 26th and got a reply yesterday (30th), which was the same as what we got on the 26th. That our case has been received but is still waiting data entry into their systems. We have been trying to be patient but it is starting to get tough.
  11. Does anyone with NOA2 in May still not have case numbers yet from the NVC? I am currently with my fiancee and newborn son in the Philippines. We were hoping to be in the US by November at the latest. But I just found out today that interviews for November are almost gone for the Philippines. It is depressing, not sure if we will be even home this year at this rate.
  12. Hey guys, after receiving our NOA2 back in may 26 we have finally received our NVC received yesterday, we are still waiting for it to be entered into the system. It took longer than we expected. After NOA2 we were hoping to be in the US by Oct but now that seems unlikely. Is it really taking about a month for NVC to enter the application into the system right now? At the moment the 3 of us; myself (petitioner), my fiancee, and our 8month old son (already has his CRBA), are stuck in the Philippines waiting on this. My family hasn't had a chance to meet our son yet and it is hard explaining to them why things are taking so long. Every week I have to reassure my mother that we will be home this year but right now I am not even sure if I believe we will. If we aren't home by Christmas or even my sons first birthday, it just might kill her.
  13. Greetings, We got our NOA2 May 26th. After 30 days we did the public inquiry and got the expected "we haven't received your case yet, please contact us again in another 30days" message. So we waited another 30 days from NOA2 and then sent another public inquiry. This time the reply was that they "have not received any approved petition and was and that they were going to contact the USCIS for us". A week later we did another public inquiry and they told us they have not gotten a reply from the USCIS and have still not received anything and they asked us to wait an additional 30days before contacting them again. Is this a typical message after 60days? Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice?
