  1. My fiancee went to check the ticket prices in an agency in Poland and they told her that she must buy a round trip because one way tickets are only for citizens of US and people with a green card and they won't let her in. Is this true? Also, when should I buy her a ticket, before an interview or the day she receives visa? Thanks for the help

  2. So I guess he needs to make $25xxxx which is not a problem. BTW is it possible that my parents don't have separate tax returns? I think they filed everything together. Also when consulate looks at th income, do they look at the expenses of the cosponsor as well?

They don't look at anybody's expenses, just household size. If your parents/co-sponsors file taxes together, you use one I-134 for yourself and another for them. They both sign it, since they file taxes jointly.

Thanks, so I guess both of them will be my cosponsors since they filed taxes together. In that case do I need to get letters from the employer from both of them?

  3. Just use your dad as the co-sponsor.

No G325 for your dad, just the I-134. Nothing else to fill out but he (as well as you) need to provide evidence showing your income. This means tax returns (lots of people send in the past 3 years' worth), a letter from employers, letter from the bank, paystubs, etc. If your dad's well over the poverty limit then he doesn't need to send every single piece of evidence in, only "sufficient" proof of his salary. Tax returns is usually best bet and I'd send in the letter from his employer too.

Your dad supports financally how many people? If he didnt claim you as a dependent then you don't count. So right now with what youre telling me he supports currently two people (your sibling and himself) plus your fiance. So he needs to meet the criteria for supporting a household of three.

Your dad doesnt have to do the 325 but like snowytater said, he needs to provide all the evidence that you do as the primary sponsor.

I'm not sure ow it works but my guess would be that he supports 3 people: himself, his wife and my brother. On the other hand, my parents claim taxes together so should I put both of them as cosponsors? If I use mt father alone how much should he make to spupport himself, his wife, my brother and my fiance?

  4. Thanks for the help. BTW I do have one sibling and he is claimed as a dependent of my parents. I know that my parents claim the taxes together as a married couple so do I use both of them as cosponsors or do I have to pick one. My father makes around 35xxx a year plus my mom makes around 30xxx so either one of them could be a good sponsor, right? One more, besides I-134, all the employment info, what other things does my cosponsor needs to fill out. Does he need to complete a G325A as well?

  5. I have some questions for you regarding Affidavit of Support form. As of now I don't have a job and I will be using both of my parents or one(not sure what would be better?) as my cosponsor. I had a job last year so I'll have the copy of my tax returns form 2007 and even from couple years back. However in the past my parents used to claim me as a dependent in thir tax returns but this year they did not. I claimed myself alone although we still have the same address and live together. Could that be a problem that I'm having my parents as cosponsors but they did not claim me in the tax returns this year but did many times in th past. I really need to know and I worry that my fiance may not get a visa because of my unemployment.

    Anyone?

  7. So I just found out that my petition has been approved and I'm worried about the Affidavit of Support form that I will need complete in th near future. I graduated from college in January and till this date I still do not have a job. I've ben to so many interviews but no luck. Could the fact that I'm unemployed cause the rejection of the K1 visa? I will have my dad as a co sponsor and he has a good job and makes enough money to support all three of us. I still live my parents and me and my fiancee will have a nice apartment on the second floor in my parent's house. What should I do about that Affidavit of Support. Should I get any kind of job asap just to have something to put on th form or it's ok since I have my father as a co sponsor. BTW I deliver food to earn some money right now and I easily make about $500 a week but it's all cash. I probably can't put that on my Affidavit of Support form, right? Thanks for the help. I'm so stressed right now.

    Hey Kros,

Just so you know, this has been asked numerous times, by me as well, and EVERYONE says you will be fine. So that kind of gives you an idea of how many people are IN the same situation as you, and how many people get their visas approved!!

You are so fine it's totally cool.

I am a college student (haven't graduated yet) and have no income whatsoeever. As long as you have a co-sponsor you're alright. This is like the #1 most stressful thing for us college people, and everyone says it's okay and everyone has gotten theirs approved, so don't worry.

Yea, I wouldn't put anything on the affidavit unless it's taxable and the govt. keeps track of it haha. so yea, as long as your dad can support himself, your fiance, and you (i assume you are financially dependent upon him,as in he claimed you as a dependent on his taxes) then you are good.

    Good luck!!

also Kros, just so you know, you need to turn in an affidavit for you AND your co-sponsor. You both need to have one. the embassy will look at both affidavits and choose the one that can support the fiance.

so yea, you still need to turn one in, as well as any supporting evidence like tax returns, etc if you have any.

In the past both of my parents used to claim me as a dependent on their taxes but this year they didn't. I still had a job in 2007 and filed the taxes myself. Now I'm unemployed but I still did my tax returns from 2007. Would that help me a little bit?

  8. Do both of us still need to submit a Affidavit of Support form or only my father? I also read that as a co sponsor he also must fill out some papers like G325A. What else does he need to send and where do we send all that paper work? Do we send it over to my fiancee so she can bring it to the interview? Do I need to send any more documents somewhere here in US or I'm pretty much done and the rest of the process will take place in Poland?

  10. I just checked my email and that's what i have found:)

"The last processing action taken on your case

    Receipt Number: EAxxxxxxxxxx

    Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

    Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On April 29, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this

I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the

notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service"

Does it mean that the papers will be send to the country where my finance is from? I think it's too good to be true. I filed my petition less than two months ago. What should I start preparing if it's actually true?

  11. So, I already sent the petition few weeks ago and right now I'm starting to read and learn about the steps I will have to take in the future. I know once my petition is approved and all the papers are sent to the embassy(Poland) I will have to sign a promise to fiance support my finance and provide poof of income. My questions are: Can I use a co-sponsor such as my father? I still live with my parents and we are fixing the second floor so me and my fiance can have our own little place. I will not pay any money for rent so I guess my father could be our co sponsor. One more, I just graduated from college and I'm searching for a job. I do some deliveries on weekends but nothing official. What if for some reason I will not be able to find a job and the time will come to send the financial proof. Would my application be rejected? Is there a certain period of time that I would have to be employed with one company before I send the papers? Do I have to make a certain amount of money or any kind of job, even part time would work in that case? Sorry, I know it is a lot of questions that I'm asking but you guys are my only help. Last one lol, if I mailed the petition at the beginning of march, when should I expect to get it approved? Thank you

Thanks. Just to make sure, if I already filed the petition, is there anything else that I will need to send here in the US. If I'm correct, the only thing left is to send some stuff to my fiance before the interview, such as poof of financial support. I don't have to send that financial proof to anybody here in United States? She will need that for her interview?

  13. Your local grocery store should have handy lunch sandwich bags.

NOTE: pictures alone are NOT proof of meeting within the past 2 years. You need to provide other evidence like copy of passport page with entry exit stamps, hotel receipt, airline tickets, etc...

A question came up last night about this: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...=114490&hl=

Please update profile to show filed for what, and country. This helps answer questions better.

I'm sending a copy of a plain ticket and pictures with dates on them. I also have couple of stamps in my passport but they only show the date when I got back from Poland. Is it enough?

Yes should be, also did you keep hotel receipt?

Could I also copy the stamp from my Polish passport which show that have bn in Poland 4 times in the last two years? Would that be a good proof of meeting in last two years??????

  15. It says in the outline that I need to put passport style pics of me and my fiancee in the plastic bag and attach it to the G-325A form. Where can I gt small bags like that or is it ok if a put a picture in the envelope and send it like that? Can I do the same thing to the pictures that I'm sending as a proof that we have met in last two years? What did you guys put your pics into? Thanks again

  16. When my fiancee filled out her G-325A form she put her passport number in the field that says file number . I did the same thing on my form. Can I leave it like that or do we have to fill out everything again. Thanks as always

The field on the form for "File Number" is for the foreign fiancé/spouse's "A#" (Alien Registration number). If they do not know it or have never had one, leave this field blank. It is not for a passport number. (A USC will not have an "A" number.) If possible, I'd complete the form(s) again.

I can't really complete the application again because my fiancee is in Poland and I don't want to loose time and have her fill it out again and send it back to me. What will happen if I leave it like that? Will it cause a RFE?

Wouldn't cause an RFE - redo yours and leave it at that. Don't stress over it.

So if I redo mine and will leave hers as is everything should be fine?
