  1. Hi all

i got the conditional green card which will expire in 3 months. I am thinking of not doing the removal of conditions because plans changed, no longer want to live in the US because of the current immigration debacle. My spouse is currently active duty but planning on separating in the couple of months. What is the best way to go about this? Filing i-407 and maybe applying for green card again if we plan to live in the US in the future or proceed with the removal of conditions?

more context: me and my spouse got married overseas and couldnt add me on his orders. We weren’t able to have me command sponsored as well. So in the last two years we’ve been just visiting the US to “keep” the green card. At this point we aren’t even sure if the conditions could be removed.

    Thoughts are really appreciated. Thanks!

Don't have any first hand knowledge of this, but I do know spouses of USCs on military orders can expedite the naturalization process which would take care of any issues related to abandonment of LPR status.  Here are some links that may be helpful.

    Good Luck!

Thank you for sharing. Problem is I am not on his orders because he was single when he left and we were told his orders cannot be amended.

Where would you be living if you are not on your spouse's orders?

Best bet would be to apply for the 2 year re-entry permit.

I will still be living with him overseas
