  1. I don't wanna confuse OP but I have a genuine question: when she tries to renew the 10 year GC, could that "abandonment" be a problem?
  2. Well, I just entered the US 1 week ago ( MCO - ORLANDO ) with Expired GC + 48 months extension letter....after spending almost 5 months overseas.... my 10 year GC was approved 2 months ago! CBP looked a bit upset because I was overseas for too long ( his first question was: Do you still live here? ). /// Fun fact: I think they are using face recognition because Im 100% sure he knew who I was ( and for how long I was traveling ), before I handled my passport//// He never mentioned the 10 year GC....they did not asked me to do the Fingerprints ( I don't know if thats the normal procedure now ) But I have the impression that he did not know about my 10 year GC being approved, or that he did not care....he never mentioned
  3. Mike, I agree that we have to follow the laws, but Im asking you this because I know you are probably one of the most expert and with more knowledge in VJ. example Situation: Im traveling around Texas near the south border and Im traveling with my friend that is a US citizen. Any police stop us and ask to see the GC...my friend is a US citizen so he doesn't have a green card, how the police knows if Im a US citizen or not if Im only showing my DL.....looks a lit bit discriminatory right??? But I will make sure I carry my green card when Im traveling to areas like San Diego next month, but here in Florida I think its almost impossible to be asked to show a GC....just my opinion.......
  4. I did not know that this was the law....but its kinda of dangerous to carry that all the time in my opinion...like carrying a passport, I would not do that.....you can loose it, get robbed, etc Its very easy to lose a DL ( I probably lost my DL 3 times the last 2 years ).....so imagine loosing a GC?? Im wondering what are the chances realistic of any authority ask to see your GC ( like the police asked for your DL ) Some laws just does not make a lot of sense!😅
  5. Im sorry , what I meant is that....Did USCIS have EVER taken her fingerprints before that? like during a Green card application for example.
  6. can you help me with some information? they asked her to do fingerprints...when was the last time she had fingerprints taken by USCIS? Im just curious to find out if USCIS is taking fingerprints from every single application or if they are using "past" fingerprints .
  7. just reentry permit ( im a 10 ys GC holder...going to europe to study for 2 years )
  8. Dear Community, Im filling the I-131, ( reentry permit ). Can you help me with some information? I could not find clear instructions for that. ---- ZIPCODE OK, BUT WHAT IS POSTAL CODE? WHAT IS CLASS OF ADMISSION?( I HAVE A 10 YS GC ...CATEGORY: IR6) DATE OF INTENDED DEPARTURE: I saw some people saying that is required to request the document 60 days or more before the trip, however, my understanding is that 60day-"rule" is not mandatory.(?????) or am I wrong? My trip is in 4 weeks, so if I put the real DATE OF INTENDED DEPARTURE 06/29/2023...is that ok? Expect Lenght of Travel: Im putting 730 days ( 2 years ), even thought Im gonna be returning to the US probably multiple times before that the NOTICE TO PICK UP ( not the RP itself ) can be sent to an address overseas? Also I live in Florida, is that the correct address to send it bellow: ( I found it online, but USCIS on the phone told me to send to NBC ) USCIS Dallas Lockbox U.S. Postal Service (USPS): USCIS Attn: NFB P.O. Box 660867 Dallas, TX 75266-0867 FedEx, UPS, and DHL deliveries: USCIS Attn: NFB (Box 660867) 2501 S. State Hwy. 121 Business Suite 400 Lewisville, TX 75067-8003 and my last question: is it normal to have this document denied? if so, what are the reasons? thank you
