  1. Congrats and have a safe journey! Detroit then home? that's a strange route but if you need anything while in Metro Detroit I'm at your service!
  2. Congratulations, happy you could join us! I was waiting for you to get your approval, I'm pretty much ready to call this thread dead, that's not necessarily a bad thing. I feel all the people that actually follow this thread already got their approval, perhaps someone will prove me wrong. Congrats and best of luck to everyone!
  3. I assume it's monthly but I wonder, how often is this data updated? What I mean is do you have any idea when we can expect September to be added to the list?
  4. Thank you, where do you see this info? Is there a way I could see this info? I look at k1 visa timelines bt they don't say which embassy/consulate!
  5. We got our case # from NVC about a month ago that surprisingly starts with BGH not ANK. We thought all Iraqi beneficiaries that live in Iraq would have their case sent to Ankara, Turkey instead of Baghdad. Of course Baghdad would work better than Ankara for us, but the problem is the case status has been "At NVC" for almost a month now, I did some research and almost all other cases created including Ankara cases have already been forwarded to the NVC. I submitted another inquiry today and all they said back was that they will notify me when the petition is forwarded to the embassy, not very useful information. My question is are there any K1 petitioners here that had their interview scheduled in Baghdad? Or even CR1/IR1, just trying to find out if they're actually doing those interviews in Baghdad or is this just a mistake from NVC. We don't want our petition to be stuck at NVC forever!
  6. Congrats! See? all is good, hopefully NVC will receive/process your petition soon!
  7. Thanks for the reply. I wanted to ask under K1 as well just to see if I could any user input, I'll just wait until the petition reaches an embassy, then we'll see.
  8. AFAIK yes, depending on the country, you do need a birth certificate or some alternative document. Follow link and scroll down to birth certificate, this applies to India: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/India.html
  9. I sent an inquiry using the public inquiry form (not via email) on the 17th and got an answer on the 19th. Only 2 days later they answered. I guess I got lucky because I've heard others waiting weeks sometimes. I never tried NVCInquiry and NVCResearch, I guess those would've been next on the list but didn't need them! I feel the country your beneficiary is in has to do with how fast they process your case even though NVC is supposed to just process and forward them for K1 visas! Is the embassy in Beirut backlogged?
  10. What can I say, I feel your pain and I hope you get some relief soon. The 16.5 months turn around is a joke, USCIS just doesn't want to properly update that but I'm hoping soon that will be updated so you can submit an inquiry!
  11. I would say submit your DS160 when you get the ready status. Just my personal recommendation. Perhaps others can chime in! Yes, a separate I-134 for each beneficiary and also a separate visa fee for each. I assume by each beneficiary you mean the fiance and each of his/her children!
  12. AFAIK NVC ships to embassies/consulates every other Tuesday, I believe next Tuesday (9/26) they will ship to embassies. The rest depends on the country I would assume, perhaps a week or two at the most.
  13. I'm not sure but I'm going to say no, there's no way to tell when NVC actually receives your petition. One thing I can tell you is you don't have to wait too long, submit an inquiry. I wouldn't have our case number if I hadn't submitted an inquiry!
  14. Thank you, hopefully you'll get yours soon as well! This post explains how to decode the case number!
  15. I'm hoping that people who have received the K1 visa for an Iraqi beneficiary can answer this. I just received our case number from NVC and it starts with letters BGH. Now I thought that the US embassy in Baghdad hasn't been processing K1 visas so all cases would be forwarded elsewhere, Ankara in Turkey for example. My question is if my case number starts with BGH does that mean the embassy in Baghdad would receive our petition?
  16. I submitted an inquiry to NVC last week and just got an email with a case number. I have to admit I'm surprised they answered, I'm even more surprised I actually received a case number. I was expecting them to say they haven't even received my case yet. If you read my old post I'm quoting you'll understand why. NOA1: 6/23/2022 NOA2: 8/28/2022, not sure about this read old post! Case number received 9/19/2022 I calculated the date the case number was actually created using a method I found on another post, according to that post it mine was created on 9/08/2024. I'm going to say I just broke some records perhaps!
  17. Well, that's what I thought. I hope those poor folks that are still waiting get some relief soon!
  18. Thanks for all the updates. I would like to understand the definition of "Untouched". Are there really 138 cases untouched from June? I'm just wondering because we have untouched cases even from earlier months. It just makes me wonder if there are really truly untouched cases from May and April, or perhaps I just don't understand the definition!
  19. I'm no expert in this matter TBH but I have a very strong feeling you'll be fine and just get your approval in a couple of weeks!
  20. When did you send them? And how did you send them? You may be able to intercept the package via USPS or Fedex, or just send another package if it's too late to intercept! I'm assuming you are required to get your statements notarized! I'm not familiar with such a requirement myself.
  21. I must have read this 100 times already. It says and I'm copying and pasting: "USCIS will consider a photocopied, faxed, or scanned copy of the original handwritten signature valid for filing purposes." Notice it says USCIS, consulates AFAIK are under DOS. Also are you saying consider is a definitive answer? It's really up to you, I've read stories both ways, I'm just telling you my personal recommendation. I'm not going to scan the documents, I'll take originals to my fiancee. Best of luck to all!
  22. That's exactly why I started my post with "I would personally send originals". I couldn't find a definitive answer and some say consulates will consider copies and some say originals. If you have the time and resources to send the original form I-134 singed in black ink to your beneficiary, do it! That would be my advice. Of course same goes for the letter of intent to get married!
  23. I would personally send originals of I-134 and letter of intent to marry, I'm thinking supporting documents for I134 can be copies but perhaps someone with more experience can answer that. AFAIK a copy of I-129f is just for fiance's reference, so a copy should be more than enough!
