California usually takes longer to get their petitions out to NVC than Vermont does....they are always slower

I found a Russian video shop in my city and found myself holder Peter FM in my hand. He told me it was a code 5 DVD. I asked him if he had any code 5 DVD players and he sold me a Phillips and taught me how to recode it to be a code zero machine. Now it plays my Russian videos and my American videos just fine.

Lets see I think this may become Russian movie review thread so I will put in my two cents.

Moscow cries no tears - older movie set in the 50's or sixties, a bit hard to follow and a song that I cant seem to get out of my head, the wife thinks this if funny but it is driving me mad...

Crimson sails - older movie, decent plot, a little silly and the girl in it is crazy insane. Kind of fairy tail story.

Railway station for 2 - Elena likes older movies, kind of cheesy plotline, guy takes a trip, goes to eat lunch at a rail stop, refuses to eat the swill, refuses to pay, misses his train, falls in love with rude waitress kind of funny dialogue, and the acting is not great.

Burnt by the Sun - The russian version of Ishtar - extremely long with little to no plot or point to the movie. Very propaganda based movie - only redeeming feature is the main character Kotov is the boyfriend of the woman in Railway station for 2. All I know is that if I could have walked out of the theater I would have. Elena kept waking me up because I was missing this cinematic gem of a movie. Never again... I have lost 3 hours of my life I will never get back.

Well that is about all for the 4 movies we have watched so far. If anyone else has any recommendations or warnings Id love to have them.

yea the feeling is great, i just feel for the people who have filed way before me and still waiting. To have no rhyme or reason why you get approved and others dont..its very strnage.

im a newbie here,but i wanted to wish everyone good luck,and congrats to jason and sasha!!! you are not alone.... when my girl and i met in moscow the first time, i was also legally seperated and in the process of divorce. i hope we dont get this woman, even though i PAY my child support:) even though i am not the one who cheated,im just the one who paid the bills and supplied the "boot" from my house. lol really thats great news and god bless you both.

I guess the question I have is when did your check cash? The way its supposed to work is after receiving the documents the paperwork goes in one direction and the check goes the other. My check cleared two days after I express mailed my application. If you used a money order (which I do not advise for this very reason) you can't see any correlating evidence that the application has been received, recognized, and dealt with. You also can't get your receipt number with a money order and have to wait for the hard copy NOA1. This is a very unusual situation, is it possible that the attorney mailed it to one of the other processing centers that are now closed for K-1's?(Nebraska and Texas). I'm sure it's frustrating after plopping money down to an attorney with the hope that this kind of thing would not happen.

actually, i Did use a money order, because my ex wife and i FINALLY got divorced after a long haul,(because of STUPID LAWYERS!)and we had joint accounts, so a money order was more convenient at the time,and lawyers paralegal NEVER mentioned anything about using a check instead,or the benefits thereof.-gee,isnt that why i hired an immigration attorney????

I had a very busy business,and i didnt have time to go open a new account.

this was one of the main reasons i hired the stupid lawyer in the first place,and they are very famous on the internet,so it wont be hard to guess who they are if i drop a few hints,but i wont do that until im really pissed. they are approaching critical mass at this point however,as i cant seem to get an email response about questions i have within their 24 hour response period. some emails have gone unanswered for weeks,and then i have to call,then speak to secretary,then once through her screening process,i get to speak to paralegal if im lucky.

and im not the guy who harrases or calls them everyday,or even once a week,and for that matter i have only called the uscis one time during this whole process,because i know better. if you harass them,they will put your case in the "maybe later ..."file. and i dont blame them for that. repeated phone calls to a business or govt agency are a real pain.

approval is nowhere near the first step,the first most important step is finding your soulmate,and that my friend is not easy. i do however appreciate the advice about going round the bend,but as i said before,i will find out who lied to me,and when i do, im going to plaster it everywhere,including where it counts-.(inneffective assistance of counsel)

I'm in the military... I wrote my senator about expediting my case faster because of my upcoming orders. A couple of weeks later my case went through VCS then to the embassy ASAP. I was amazed... guess who happens to be my Senator? Future President of US MCCAIN!

but i am disabled from service. i did mention it in my narrative on the k-1,but i dont think that will help me very much. but i appreciate everyones response,especially those who are k-1 filers with strange receipt dates from time sent. my lawyer is in california,but i live in florida,so it had to be sent to vermont. i spoke to the uscis on the phone to a VERY NICE GENTLEMAN,WHO BY THE WAY WAS AN INDIAN IMMIGRANT:) HE IS THE ONE WHO FIRST GAVE ME THE RECEIPT NUMBER.

USCIS claims they didnt receive my petition until jan,noa1 jan 8th. lawyers office says they sent in november 07.. everything i know i got online. someone is lying,i just have to figure out who.

i know from being in law enforcement and in the military about chain of custody for sensitive information,every thing has to be signed for,and dates AND EVEN CLOCK TIME posted and kept track of.

guess who i suspect? i have friends very high up the food chain in washington,but i dont think going that route is fair.but if i have to,i will.

all i ask,is that i be told the TRUTH and nothing more.

every day i have to think of something positive to talk about with her.iM AN OPTIMIST,SHE IS NOT:) its russian culture to be suspicious and pessimistic of all government processes. i now see why. like i said,i know its not the vsc,its the govt. in general,govt workers are not trated well,work crazy long hours for low pay. i know for a fact that the uscis is hiring,and has been for months to help with the overflow from last year of all the petitions,but it angers me,that we as k-1 and k-3 filers are lumped alll together with big business getting their "workers" here. did you ever notice they never speak about building a fence between canada and usa?we are a nation of immigrants,built by immigrants. as tax paying,war fighting,voting americans, we have personal family issues,and i think we should be in a different category all together.

We sent our petition on July 27th and did not receive an NOA1 until September 27th. However, USCIS did acknowledge that we sent the application in earlier.

There are two dates on the NOA1; 'notice date' which acknowledges when USCIS processed the receipt and 'received date' which acknowledges actual receipt of your petition into their mailroom.

USCIS state they adjudicate petitions in order of 'received date' (although you should allow for some deviation on this - they cannot process them perfectly in order) so if yours says January and not November then you need to have some harsh words with your lawyer. I doubt you will be able to change the date to November though.

Luckily, you are with VSC and so your application will probably get adjudicated within 3 months of the NOA1 received date. CSC are currently processing around the six month mark.

Hang in there. We're all used to waiting It's not ideal but definitely worth it in the long run. Good luck!

Happened to our K-3 also. received in mail room November 12, Received NOA February 7 dated the 4th. and they claim it was received December 23. Who knows? at that point was just THANKFUL to get the notice!!

they had a notice up on uscis website about up to a 15 week delay on receipting times. my case was affected by this i think. i just wondered if any one else here had sucha delay getting first noa.? thank you so much for your response.

Yeah, its not the lawyer this time,they sent me proof by email that the vsc recieved on nov.3rd,or 5th,i cant remember. all i know is i have to reassure my girl everyday,that it will happen soon. just wanted to see if anyone else had the same problem:( my fiancee and i had to wait first for my divorce to be final,then i sent to lawyer,oct 10th,2007,they took a month going over it,sent it nov 3rd, and here we are in february,and as a florida cracker says"i aint heard shi**" i think this whole process is completely fascist,and im a former soldier. im not angry with vsc,im angry with the HUGE govt. i voted for paul:)

hi all, i was curious,my lawyer sent my k-1 petition on nov 3rd,(they sent me proof)but when i got my receipt online,it says it was received in the vsc on jan 8th!!! what gives???? my lawyer says they say that to give themselves a window. my fiancee and i have already been together over a year now,its very very hard. lawyer also said i should look for apprroval anytime after mid february, what do you guys think??
