  1. Hello, I'm having my oath cermony in 2 days, however in my oath note there is the questionnaire question they require us to answer yes or no to at the day of the ceremony.. my answer will bd no to all of them except the one asking if I traveled outside the usa since my interview because I had to go home sew family since my interview because I was on RFE and I didn't know when they would get back to my case! My visit was short it was only two and half weeks and I came back finding the letter of my oath! Will this be a problem or prevent me of taking my oath that day or not? Have anyone gone through something similar to that can give me some advice please? Thank you
  2. I'm not arguing, I'm trying to understand because what happened in my case is very strange, I have many friends who got their citizenship without any issues regarding this matter and were never asked once about the selective service because they were all over 31 when they filed for citizenship! Why on my case I have to be asked about that especially when the officer knew I came to the country after the age of 30 cause she looked into my passport!
  3. Thank you, but thats not what my rfe telling me to do! The rfe basically saying if i am age 26-31 to provide the status of info letter, but I am not! Why should I send something the rfe telling me only to send if I am younger than 31!! ....And that was not my question to begin with... my question was why the officer violated the uscis policy by asking for a proof of something I'm not to be asked about? She either did that mistakenly or purposely and im both cases doesn't make it right to delay my case on a mistake on her end, and was wondering if I should call and ask for service request or what procedure should I take. And thank you
  4. Now what does that mean!! At some point you was not a citizen then you took the oath and became one, you went through the same journey we are going through now! so your not superior or better than those who are waiting... all you was doing here is trying to proof your right rather than helping! You keep going around trying to proof that I answered the rfe wrong when I didn't... you know I am older than 31 and out of the selective service question basis and why the officer went that route with me knowing I'm older than 31( which was my original question) and if I should ask for service request cause she obviously made a mistake or what should I do, instead your arguing with me over my age and over what I should have responded to the rfe! I shouldn't have got rfe for that matter to begin with... anyway thank you
  5. Yes whatever so you know better than the uscis rfe that was sent to me?!! In that letter says I'm only to give status of info letter if I'm younger than 31!!! Which I am not... thank you anyway your not helping here ur just arguing around
  6. No I did not, for the very simple fact which is they don't send status of info letter to those who are older than 31 because they are out of the age window! They do that to those who are younger than 31 and failed to register, I am not.. I don't know why are you insisting to argue with me over this, I am older than 31 and showed proof I was not in the USA during age of registration and provided letter stating that i am older than 31 and i shouldnt be asked for that matter based on the uscis policy... if you have advice for me I would appreciate it rather than arguing try to proof your right!
  7. Thats what I did because the rfe said to send explanation, I did that
  8. This is what I submitted Applicants-Over-31-Letter-Updated-03-02-2021 (1).pdf
  9. What I submitted is a letter explaining that I am older than 31 and a copy of the stamp of when I arrived to the USA, and yhr visa I entered with to proof I was older than 26, and a letter from the sss stating the uscis policy on that matter that I shouldn't be asked for registration because i an older than 31
  10. I know that, that's why I was wondering why the officer put me under that basis even though she knows I'm older than 31! And on the application I said no to the age of 18-26
  11. I don't know what are you talking about!! In the n400 application it asked if I was in the country age 18-26 and I said no! In the interview I handed the officer my passport and she saw first day I arrived to the USA even when my visa was issued and my age and everything have nothing to do with 18-26! I I applied for citizenship age 38 ( have nothing to do with age 26-31)! So I don't understand where you getting that I am admitting that I was in the us before age 26!!! I never said that neither my documents said that neither the uscis policy manual that you claimed it doesn't state that I shouldn't be asked for selective service cause I am older than 31 when I applied ( but I showed you it does) said that!
  12. Well I am neither of them, I was not in the country in the age 18-26 to register, and I didn't apply at the age of 26-31 for citizenship therefore I'm out of that window according to the uscis policy manual! Mike was saying that uscis Manual doesn't say that
  13. Read uscis policy manual volume 12 part d- chapter 7 thats what it says there!
  14. Uscis directed me to the sss website to get q statement from... and thats what I did, and in that statement says that uscis manual says that males over 31 are not to register for selective service
  15. Thank you, but I don't think they will finish that fast, especially that she took my index fingerprint at the interview.. I've never heard they do that at the interview, so my guess is that she wanted to run secondary background check.., but in case they process my oath soon enough before my travel I've heard of emergency passport they do it in same day, but I dont know the process for that, so if you know about I would appreciate it if you give me some info please
  16. Yes thank you, but my concern now is that I'm going in a vacation on July, so what if they scheduled me for the ceremony while I'm there.. its just 3 weeks vacation anyway
  17. I already answered with proof with ny first entrance to the us.. and I attached a pdf document from the selective service website stating that males older than 31 shouldn't be asked for selective service, so I should be good, but the problem now is the wait time especially when I have trip in july... I wonder if u should call the uscis 800 number and try to speak to that officer or that would mess up my case.
  18. Yes I know and I already did, but I wonder why she did that even thought she knows my age and knows I first came to the us at the age of 30! And now I'm gonna have to wait forever till they get back again to my application although its not my mistake! It says now 6 months till decision
  19. No I was never, I came to the us for first time ever at the age of 30
  20. Hello, I just had my citizenship interview may 3rd, I passed my reading and writing and civic test, however the officer made me think I was approved and she even told me dont make travel plans for the next month for your ceremony!.. but she told me that she didn't get the chance to look at my file yet and she can't approve me untill she looks at it and make sure sure everything is in order, and she said she was gonna look at it the today ( the interview day) But I checked my account later that day to find she issued rfe for proof of selective service! Even though I am 38 years old and I came to the country when I was 30 years old ( not 18 to 26) so I wonder why she did that knowing I am over 31 and I shouldn't be asked for selective service according to the uscis rules! Has anyone been through Sam's situation like that before?
