  1. My fiancé had his K1 visa interview in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico on October 23rd. He was refused and given a 1-year ban for admitting to using marijuana during his medical exam. We are currently waiting on answers from our lawyer on what exactly happens now with the process. Right now all we know is that he can re-take the medical exam next October to prove that he no longer uses this controlled substance. If anyone has been through this, I would appreciate any insight into the process from here. If anyone needs comfort, I am here for you. My fiancé and I have been apart for 3 years going through this process and now we have another year added. I know how difficult it is emotionally, financially, etc.
  2. Hi all. Just wanted to post this update. Today I received the official notice from the NVC that my fiance's case has been forwarded to the embassy. The strange thing is I have not received anything at all from the USCIS regarding a second approval and my case status with the USCIS has not been updated. I just got the notice from the NVC that the case is on it's way to the embassy. It looks like we are moving forward again.
  3. How long did your reapproval take? I am at 75 days now. Hoping for something soon.
  4. I just got a response from my senator. This is what the USCIS told him: According to our records, your constituent’s Form was returned to USCIS on March 24, 2023, following a request for further review by the U.S. Department of State. A review of the case remains pending at this time. Very generic and not helpful at all. At least yours sounds like it might be moving forward a little more if it is being returned to the NVC. Hopefully that is a sign that they are working on these.
  5. I have not. One of my state senators has submitted an inquiry for me. I am waiting to hear a response from that.
  6. This just happened to me too. I thought it was taking a while to hear anything from the NVC and then I just found out on Friday that our case was sent back to the USCIS on March 24th. I am absolutely devastated. Hopefully it won't take too long...
