I have a simple question for all of you who have already received your EAD card, what is the validation of your card, is it only 1 year?

Yes, 1 year on both the EAD and AP.

I got my EAD in the mail today too! Now off to the social security office, and on to the job search!

Sorry I know this has been asked before, but I can't find the answer.

What happens with the AP documents when I travel? It this correct: they stamp both and keep one copy? I only need the one copy for any other trips.

Do they look at the AP when I am returning to the US from Canada or when I enter Canada?

Just got my 3rd email from CRIS saying my EAD has been sent out.

YAYYYYY!!! I got my approval for EAD!!!! OMG IM SO EXCITED!!!!!! I got tears in my eyes! I have been waiting on this for so long! I can "live" again!!!

It says allow 30 days to receive the card, but on the average, those who have already received the card, how long did you have to wait to receive the card???

Also do I need a SSN to get my driver license or will the EAD card do?

I was bouncing off the ceiling when I got the CRIS email. I was also home alone so my hubby and parents got some crazy messages. It's very exciting!!

I received my AP in the mail today and booked my flight to Canada. I can't wait to see my family and friends, and we're also going to look for a venue for our religious wedding in 2010. I'm so happy!

My parole forms arrived today! Now I can book a flight to visit my family and friends, and also check out things for our religious wedding next year!

Brian and Jenn - I had a touch the day after my biometrics and nothing until approval yesterday. I think you're next up for approval! It's hard when you know it could happen any day now and you just have to wait. Good luck!

I just got an email from CRIS saying my AP was approved and the notice was sent. Is this the actual document I need to travel or do they send something after?

I'm so excited to go visit my family and friends!

Hey jhunjhun the only way that is possible is, if the member didnt ask for emai alerts on the USCIS site and the member went to the USCIS site and saw an update on their file for their AP or EAD. jhunjhun if you asked for email alerts, you will get an email from CRIS notifying you that your EAD was approved along with 3 other emails they send you about your EAD/AP.

I've heard that they don't always update your case online and then you'll just receive things in the mail w/o prior warning.

Hi mentinil that is true, and my appologizes for not stating that, I guess a small few people dont get the notifications about being approved through email and just get a notice in the mail so that is definately a possibility.

That would be great! Anyways, do you know some people that got approved for their EADs and APs without notifications from CRIS even they signed up for email for automatic updates?

I am! I'm pretty sure there are at least a few others

I think I paid $110 for a single shot in Miami, FL.

I'm not a K filler. The delay on my file is NOT making me angry on the people posting here - like they have anything to do with how USCIS moves around files (and I am really happy for them all and for their families, husbands, wives and babies) .. but it really makes me angry on the case handler and USCIS that did not send the biometrics appointment yet, 40 days after case receipt at MSC.

This, I think, is good enough reason for me to be concerned and frenetically reload the case status page on the USCIS webpage, check the mailbox and think about reasons and explanations, maybe something missing in my file (though by this time I should have received an RFE, right?), or maybe the neighbor's mailbox overflowing with papers and maybe my notice is inside it (nobody lives in that apartment so I dream of me using a screw driver to see if my envelope is not stuck in that mailbox).

I bet many of those posting here do check their mailboxes too waiting for the eagle stamped on a corner...the thing is, they do get the envelopes:))

PS: this Bustamante buy/gal at the Chicago lockbox signed for receipt of my file too:))

Just a thought - make sure your name is on the inside of your mail box for your mail carrier to see if you may have put (or USCIS) the wrong address...

I am also not concerned about the time line. If you look at October's thread things will be happening for us this month hopefully! Good luck everyone. We should all be happy we are with our loved ones.

Hi everyone, just an update, I got approved last Dec 30 for my AP and EAD. Too bad I didn't get the chance to use my AP when it was BADLY needed, (Dec 26 my dad's funeral)

So sorry about your Dad. Hopefully you can take this opportunity to go visit your family now.

metinil: well you sent yours in a week and a half after me..so maybe youll be hearing something soon...im counting my days since when i received my NOA'S...but hopefully for you its way sooner!

abranch: hhhmm..its interesting..and funny you say that the expedite worked...because the same day i received my interview letter, i also received a notice from USCIS that my case was under review because of the expedite..so i dont think it was the expedite, also because the only application my husband expedited for me was the i-765. so maybe it was due in no time..or tucson is on the ball! im thinking your ead will be approved between january 20-27th..thats my guess! but good luck! let me know how it goes...

I didn't realize you expedited. Also, I looked at the dates, but was thinking the wrong months (for when I filed).

There are also the costs involved in getting your medical form filled out and the vaccinations.
