I sent a LOT of documentation. I sent paystubs from the last four months, tax returns for the past 3 years, copies of all our of bills from the past 3 months to show what all our expenses are, I wrote a letter explaining our situation (we are on one income, my husband is a teacher and has had his salary frozen at $30,000 for the past two years), etc., etc. I might overwhelmed them with information if anything!

I really thought we had a simple case and we'd be approved for the fee waiver, but apparently not! The sad thing is, we wouldn't have been able to save up the $ over the past two years cause we really don't have extra money every month to put into savings (which I demonstrated with all my evidence...or so I thought!)

I would contact my local office, but I feel like it's a lost cause since I already borrowed the $ and resubmitted our application with the fee

It sounds like the reviewer let personal opinion interfere with their decision if they told you " you should have been able to save over 2 yrs" Even though you already sent money in and reapplied I would call and speak with someone. Have what ever proof you have in hand that the reason they turned you down was because " you should have been able to save that amount".

The waiver doesn't say anything about "should have" opinions. It states if you can prove you are 150% at or below poverty line then you qualify.

For those that applied for the fee waiver how much documentation did you send with it? If you sent enough evidence that you meet the requirements there should be no reason not to qualify. If the response was you had enough time to save I would call your local office and speak with someone.

Hello! It's been a while since I've been here but my wife and I will be filing her I-751 by the end of January. Does anyone know if the Affidavits have to be notarized? The instructions for the I-751 do not say .

Hey everyone. My wife got her AOS approved on April 30th and we have yet to recieve any welcome letter or notice about her green card. It is just damn frustrating.

Hey november filers, I havn't been active much on the AOS thread, But I filed with ya guys and Tina and I had our interview yesterday and passed. The reviewer said Tina should have her card in about 10 days!

Morning Feb Filers! Well Tina and I are now married, thats to the marriage laws in colorado we could officiate our own wedding. So it was super easy. We turned the license in Monday morning and we should be able to get copies of it today. We have been working on the AOS paperwork as well. Trying to get in touch with the civil surgeon in the area. i'll keep popping in when I can.

Same here. I will be looking into the forms this weekend. And the fun starts all over again lol

Hey Julia,

Tina arrived through chicago. She said she handed her paperwork to the imigration people but did not get anything back. Did you get anything from your packet when you entered the US? Is this normal procedure? Anyone Lol. Either way she is here and was up bright and early because of trying to adjust from the timezone change. I forgot to ask her about the EAD stamp if she asked for it.

So what forum section do we all go to next for the AOS? And 9 days Until Tina arrives!

Today she is coming, how do you feel?

I'm excited! but it really won't hit me for another week. I'm still at work until Nov 13th.

We planned it this way though. This way she will have a week alone with our cat so she "can win him back" as she puts it. She arrived through chicago, but iwon't post details about that until i talk to her.
