  1. We sent the package with all the required documents for the adjustment of status. The Form I-485 and Form I-765. Sent the checks too! However, I have made a mistake on Form G-1145. Instead of putting my information on the form, in the 'Applicant/Petitioner' field and 'email' fields. I put my wife's. After bothering with the previous documentations I just got who the 'Petitioner' is wrong since for the AOS that would be me but previously, it was her. Do you think this might hamper the process? I'm worried that might be a problem but I'm not quite sure. I know I got everything on the 485 and 765 right, but it was specifically the G-1145 that I made a mistake. And I'm not sure exactly what happens if you file a non-essential form incorrectly. I'm hoping that at worst they will just send my documentation back but also we really need that receipt number as fast as possible. If it is an issue, do you think there is any way that I could fix it? Thanks for reading, everyone. Hope you have a good day.
  2. Hello everyone! Well, basically the title explains it all. I'm an Alien with a K-1 Visa, arrived in the US a month ago. I am currently IN America, with my spouse. We just married and it was the best day of my life. We are filing for a Change of Status, Work permit, SSN. All that jazz. We are right in that moment where I can't really work and I have just been spending my money all over without making anything back. And, All the money that I had whilst coming here is slowly fading away. Now, my spouse can very much cover all the basic needs and more, BUT there are still some things that I'd like to get for myself without needing to make her go through the trouble of spending even more of her money (specially given that the Change of Status fee is right around the corner and that is pricey!). I have some folks back in my country and some friends that I know here that have said that they would like to give me some cash just to have for myself. So I can buy stuff like new clothes, food, pay my phone. Stuff like that. Like I said, my spouse can cover for all of it. But I'd rather help her out in any way I can. That way we could more easily save up to get ourselves a couch and some other things to turn our basement into a cool living space like we've been wanting to! However, I haven't really been able to find a concrete answer about this. Am I able to accept money from people without having a work permit? Would that get me in trouble? I am not really sure. Thank you for reading, regardless! I very much appreciate it. Have a good day!
