  1. This morning, I've checked our case status online using the USCIS website to see if they've already updated it and reflected that both our I-130 and I-129F were already approved sometime during the week of March 17. But to my surprise, our I-130 got another touched yesterday, April 13  This is soooo peculiar! I just can't believe my eyes and it got me confused for a while. But anyhow, I hope they straighten things out because this online updates just doesn't make sense and instead of the applicant being well-informed of their real case status, what happens is that it becomes more complicated and perplex.

Anyhow, our online status for both I-130 and I-129 still has the infamous "case received and pending" status. So outdated :ranting:

If you think that's strange then ....read this :

I applied to remove the conditions on my Permanent Residency (I751) more then a year ago and two months ago I received my Green Card and a letter from my Senator that my case has been approved (three e-mails from USCIS also )

When I checked my status on line it shows that my case was transferred to the local office and is PENDING

HELLLLOOOOO.......I got the stupid card already ...what is still pending

    Anybody speaks USCIS language?????

  2. A bunch of us TSC transferees got that letter with the word "approved" on the top too. It doesn't mean you are approved.

See our discussion on the subject starting here:

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...08764&st=30

and scroll down to tweety's post #38 where she first reports getting said letter.

Cassie, thanks for the lead - I thought that was too good to be true. But one can always hope

I'll have to call the 800-line anyways. On the original NOA, there was a typo in my last name. At fingerprinting, I asked the lady to correct it - which she did on their system. The NOA I just received still has the same error. How anyone manages to make a mistake in the removal of conditions, which should be linked to the original AOS paperwork, is beyond me :angry: My 2-yr card did not have any errors. I am aftraid if they send a card with the wrong spelling, that it will take them another year to correct that.....After all, this is the USCIS!

If I would be you I will call them every day until they recognize you and learn how to spell your name

Don't wait for the new card to arrive just to see the mistake

    Good luck

  3. The trick with IT jobs now is to leave the direct user and server support and go into areas where you do far less work, but get big money, such as project management, LMS systems, training, consolidation services, management streamlining, or attach your IT knowledge to areas such as HR, accounting, legal, or other work.

When you have to be hands on you do 90% or more of the work and get paid and treated like #######.

NO...the trick is to find a good ,decent company to work for .

I would not stay one day in a place where they will ask me to write down what I did every 15' This is something I hear for the first time

  4. RE : I-751 Application

Would you recommend using a lawyer to prepare this application?

Can you provide a link to preparing this application?

    ie helpful tips

    ie what to include

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated?

    Thank you.

    Why waste your money?

It's really easy to do it yourself and if you read on this forum you will find an answer to any questions you may have.

    Good luck!

Hopefully you won't have to deal with Nebraska Service Center because they suck big time

  5. Finally......

submitted my papers mid December to Cali office , and looked online tonight to see that my 10yr green card was ordered. Whew Hew.....

What a relief . I thought it was never going to happen. Seemed like forever , yet I look and see so many at other offices waiting well over a year now.

To everyone on here ..... Thank you for so much great insight. words of wisdom , and ideas.

Good luck to all that are still waiting.

    Congratulations!

  6. kearinne, you mentioned sending your passport in for that stamp, can you mail these in for that? Thought you had to make a trip to your assigned field office. Not that I would trust them with any important documents, especially through the mails.

Not sure what's going on now between the USA and Canada, been driving up there all of my life, just like driving to the next town. Except for having a plant in the vehicle, they are real touchy about that, with the winds, why aren't they stopping nature from blowing seeds back and forth across that man made line?

No, what I mean is I need to mail in my passport to renew the passport. The passport expires this year and If I mail it in, I dont know how long it'll sit in Canada til they send me my new one. So, do I get the stamp now, hope I dont need it and mail in my passport to renew or do I send in the passport and hope to god I get it back in less than a month?

Oh and I can't drive to where I travel... My daughter is in Ottawa, Canada and I'm across country in Oregon, US... over 3k miles. Need to fly. Without passport it makes things a bit difficult. Also I'm wanting to change jobs soon... without extention stamp in a passport (or new greencard) dont think I can do that.

Renew your Passport ,they are very quick if you mention that you need to travel .I had mine in 15 days-regular fee $97CND .My application to renew my passport was transfered from Quebec to Windsow ,Ontario. That's what I call service .

  7. What, no Government Language interpreters here? I did briefly read the course syllabus on how to be a Government Language writer or speaker, use as many words as possible with saying a darn thing was the most important. The other was never use a double negative in a sentence when you can use a triple negative instead.

My best interpretation of this e-mail is to hurry up and wait, seems like I heard that before when I was in the military.

Ok,how do you explain this :

They updated my status on USCIS Website as

Application Type: CRI89, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED

Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.

AND I HAVE RECEIVED ALREADY MY 10 YEARS GC

I checked that card 1000 times and yes ...everything is correct + letter from my Senator saying that my application was approved

I think somebody out there made a big mistake sending these e-mails

OK,like I expected ...THIS IS AN E-MAIL THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE DELIVERED MORE THEN TWO WEEKS AGO but ....their IT Department is no any better then the Customer Service or the USCIS all together !

A job like this with my Exchange server at work will get me fired the next day but USCIS ......great place to work

Need I say that I have the GC already and a letter from my Senator saying that my application has been approved

They are worst then I thought !

  12. Not to bust any stones, but has anyone been over to the N-400 forum? I have, and I don't see any of the hand wringing, screaming, and people running around with their hair on fire like I do here in this forum. Myself included, of course.

Perhaps thats the attitude USCIS wants to foster? Marginalize I-751s to force everyone into N-400? They get two piles of cash from us, plus more potential cannon fodder. For the USCIS its a win/win scenario. The only losers are us!

Anyhow, we can apply for N-400 in a few weeks, and we will do so. If for no other reason then Nebraska loses our file to the local office. I have found the locals to be semi-kinda-sorta reasonable and almost competent so far. Nebraska on the other hand, they should all be fired and trained monkey shipped in to replace them. The monkeys could not possibly do any worse then the current crop of "pay-us-to-ruin-your-life" clowns.

FINALLY ...somebody sees the reality!

  13. I've looked around here for a while and I can't find something similar to my case.

I have my green card and it's going to expire in september this year, I'm going to Romania in April.

I camed here with a J1 visa and got married, filled I130, I485, adjustment of status, had my interview in 2006 and got my green card. I will file this year for lifting of conditions.

When I go to Romania I will take with me:

    - mine and my husband's driver's licence

    -my green card

    -copie of the marriage licence

    -my romanian ID

I'm not sure if I need to file for Advance Parole so I can return to the USA with no problem.

please reply I'm running out of time

I apologies if this has been posted before.

    thank you

Just take your GC and your Romanian passport and you should be fine >there is no need for the other documents !

    Have a nice trip !

  14. Oh well. I guess we are at the point where it cant hurt to file the N-400. Processing times for Nebraska I-751 are reported to be as long as 18 months, maybe even more. Since we are already at 12 month, and we could possibly be made to wait a further 6 months, we might as well put that time to good use. I do look forward to the day my wife gets her passport...this way we can go anywhere we want, for as long as we want.

Thanks for all the input, folks.

The time line goes by your local office though, not Nebraska. So it might not be 18 months. I know Cleveland (my local office) is around 7-8 months.

I still don't understand some of you guys here pushing ahead with this N-400.Nobody says that you should not apply for citizenship but don't you want to see yourself done with one application before you jump with another one ?

I don't know whose idea was that filling an N-400 will expedite your status here in US . Just a waist of money at least for now when USCIS is totally screwed-up !!!!

My husband already made up his mind to apply to be a citizen a few years ago, so naturally he applied as soon as he could. It has nothing to do with the I-751 in our case, and I never implied that it did. It makes no difference if he already has his PR card or not. And that is his right, so I think you should stop bashing people's choices. No one expects it to speed up the I-751 process, nor do I think it will make it more difficult (from examples out of Cleveland on our own boards).

    "bashing people's choices"

Well...I'm not ,but when you see the mess caused by I-751 don't you want to wait a bit and get done with it then filling N-400 .You will be checking two forums but ...be it your way

  15. We found out this afternoon that the company is sending Dan to Canada again tomorrow. This time it is right to were his family lives (the first trip was to the opposite side of canada.) We called his family tonight to tell them that he will be there on Monday. They all sounded so excited & happy. Dan has not seen his Dad since he moved down here In July 2005. I'm happy for Dan & his family, but I'm feeling a little left out, I want to go too.

    Mitzi

Then go ,Canada is nice !

  16. Hi,

I got my I-551 stamp in my passport today, it's good for another year. They did take my green card though but I was happy about that as the idiots got my DOB wrong when they issued it in the first place. It's a nightmare travelling when your passport doesn't agree with your card but I wasn't going to pay those guys $70 dollars to correct their mistake and wait another year for a replacement. The guys in Seattle have no idea whether my case is going to be transferred, lost, or is sitting on some shelf gathering dust in the Nebraska office. The guy did advise me not to apply for citizenship yet as they are so backed up. I don't know if I want to pay nearly $700 dollars anyway to the USCIS to jump through more hoops and get more peeved and just wait on my green card to turn up.

    declan

If you're not in the list but should be, please add yourself or post your data separately in the thread. If you're on the list, please check your data for correctness. Important: If you are on the list and get approved, we would like to know it - please write a posting in this thread.

    iansig40 (Reply )

Yep,I do agree 100% .Why bother paying another $700 ,filling N-400 when they can't deliver the service that you paid for already ????

THIS IS NOT THE FIX FOR I-751

  17. Oh well. I guess we are at the point where it cant hurt to file the N-400. Processing times for Nebraska I-751 are reported to be as long as 18 months, maybe even more. 18. DID ANYONE CHECK THE USCIS WEB SITE, they updated it, and NSC I - 751 is STILL JULY 5,2006. I AM ABOUT TO CRY I CAN"T BELEIVE THIS, NO they DID NOT START WORKING ON THEM AGAIN SANDYOBVIOUSLY THEY DID NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes ,I checked the USCIS website also and I could not believe it ...still the same date July 5,2006. This is just plain ridiculous but let me say this ...these processing dates are not accurate at all .

If you've been waiting more then a year ...then you should call them daily and ask for a Service Request

  19. Well I am afraid if I try to contact the Obdusman he will tellme it is too soon you see I send my application in 06/07 and we are 03/08 so basically it has been in process for 10 months, but I know that it won't process by time because a lot of people ahead of me are waiting, i will do wherever it takes but I don't want them to tell me you only waited for 10 mts!!! What do you think I wait a couple more months or i go ahead and contact senator or obdusman??? I appreciate your help already

Some people have been waiting for more then 13 months if you can believe it

According to their website it should take between 10 to 12 months but we all know how slow they move !

  20. Really? My card expires on 4/19/2006, with the one year extension expiring on 4/19/2008. My infoPass appointment will be on 3/28/2008. Does that mean they won't give me that damn I-551 stamp? What the hell? I thought people get the stamp within 30 days before the extension expires. How annoying!!! How dare she implying that you are "IMPATIENT"! Guess if I don't get that stamp on Friday, I will have to go back a second time because I plan to go travel, too, in May. And also why are different USCIS offices giving contradicting information on why the processing dates are going back?!!! IDIOTS!!!

I got my infopass today but was denied with the I-551 extension stamp. The lady said I just have to show the expired green card and the I-751 letter and that I am valid until April 15, 2008. She said if I am planning to leave the country which I intend to do this August that I should come back one month before which would be July and that is the only time she is going to stamp my passport. So I ask her what is going to be my status from April to July 2008, she said it would be pending. I even show her the memo but she refuse to stamp my passport for the reason that its not expired yet.

She also said, that last month they were processing January 2007 petitions but they found out that some June 2006 petitions was left behind somewhere so they have to go back and processed those. And that I have to be PATIENT. (Like I am not patient enough). This is sooo frustrating....

No ,what you have to do is ...don't give them a specific date when you expect to travel but tell them that your job requires a few trips to Canada at the end of the month .They will have to put the stamp in your passport way in advance of those 30 days

    Good luck !

  21. "they were processing January 2007 petitions but they found out that some June 2006 petitions was left behind somewhere"

June 2006 infers that infamous date of July 05, 2006 and were processing in January 2007 would be more accurately described as Febuary 10, 2007 in which both dates infer the Nebraska Service Center.

I and one other board member were told by our senator's office all of the I-751 applications were transferred to California with a August 19, 2007 date as of last February 15, 2008, so we were left far back in the dust. So who exactly is telling the truth?

Was advised my attorney to always get the name of the interviewer, did you know that? And did your US citizen go with you? I would never send my wife and daughter alone, just from observations, they tend to walk all over the applicants, a US citizen does make a big difference. And if I have to drive 400 miles just to get a partial stamp, that interviewer would get a mean face our US government taught me how to do. Taught me a couple of other things as well, but will leave it at the mean face.

Instead walk in there with a big smile on my face, hello, my name is NickD, this is my precious wife, Gloria (while giving her a hug, and my step daughter, Jessica, shake hands with the interviewer, then when we sit down, start off by saying, my attorney would like your name for the records, and go from there, that sets the pace.

I agree, last time when I called USCIS I asked for the agent ID Number and I told that lady (agent) that the conversation will be recorded .She did not show any kind of opposition to that and she was the one that send a Service Request to Nebraska .She even provided a Case Service Request # and I was told that I should here from them in seven day . Five days later I got he e-mail saying that the GC was ordered

  22. Officer charged with demanding sex for green card

If that all it takes to get my wife a green card, I'll do it, but can a hire one those Emperor Club gals instead? Well one of the cheaper ones, there are certain things I prefer to job out, and this is definitely one of them.

...and if the immigrant is a male then .....we get a piece of USCIS

It's interesting to read what other people posted on their website :

    http://www.dhs.gov/journal/leadership/2008...t-to-print.html

  23. Hi guys, just wanna ask about the timeline in receiving the NOA after USCIS cashed in the check last March 5, 2008 for my I-751. Just anxious about it... if they are gonna send me one or not, coz some of my friends got theirs in 2 weeks time after they filed. Hope you can help me...

If you belong to Nebraska .....hope for a miracle !

People here have been waiting for more then 12-13 months

After waiting for two weeks what can I tell you......
