  1. Were you officially charged for anything (i.e. disturbance, etc.)??? If yes, then you should tell the truth on the application. If police just took you and your spouse for little lecture and none of you were officially charged then you don't have to report it.

Since USCIS does criminal background checks, if you don't tell the truth, it can come back to bite you.

Also, in my opinion, this does not seem to be very serious offence or crime...so you should tell the truth...

The police made a case against us for aggrivated assult and we had to go to court for this. I have a copy from the court saying that the case was dismissed. Do i need anything else for that? May be a seperate letter as describe what had happen?

    Thanks

  2. Hi Guys

I'm in the process of filing I-751 and need you help For Part 3 # 7 (Have you ever been arrested, detained, charged, indicted, fined or imprisoned for breaking and violating any law or ordinance or committed any crime which you were not arrested in the US or abroad?

Does this question applies here if you you ever been arrested here in US?

When my spouse came fronm to US, he was upset and we start arguing and he broke photo frames and the argument went a littlt hooter and he called 911 in anger. The police came and saw broken glass and took us to the station. Long story short, we had a case on us and then it was dismissed for mutal understaing.

Now, i don't know what to put for this question the form, yes or no.

Can someone forshadow their knowledge as to what should i do for this question?

  3. That is wonderful news!! I was wondering about you! Glad it went good. Our turn is on January 15th. I will be there with him. Any suggestions. If you get a chance, send us the interview details. I'm nervous!:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

How long did it take to get your visa after interview? Did you get it from the embassey or the VFS? Which VFS?

Will get VISA by mail witin a week after the approval.

It will come through VFS from Chandigarh with passport and the envelope.

My hubby went in 9am in the morning. They took his medical report, passport, interview letter and told him to do the fingerprints. After that, he waited for 2 hrs and then the counsoler called him. He asked him 4-5 questions about marraiage and my employment info. After that, he saw the wedding album. Then he said, congratulations, your VISA is approved and will get by mail in a week.

That's all. It was pretty simple and easy interview.

I'm glad that it's over and we can be finally together on X-mas. I;m going to India and then we are flying back here together.

I wish you the same and good luck for the interview.:thumbs:

Congrats! Here's to a wonderful life together!!!! :D

    Lisa

Thank you all. I wish all of you the same and best of everything. At the end, its worth it and i will never remember this the year 2008.

  4. Don't take DVDs, they won't allow it inside the consulate.

How about some more proofs like phone bills, chat transcripts, affidavits from friends and relatives, emails to each other, and not just wedding photograph but also take normal pics of you two together or with relatives.

Did you file this year's tax returns as jointly or even as married? then take that as proof too, just any small thing you can think about, cards sent to each other, postal letters.

Here is a format for affidavit.

Just be confident at the interview, go with the goal that its not end of the world and you are only talking about love and marriage to a stranger.

    Best wishes.

I have phone bills and some pictures. IS affidavit by the third party is necessary?????

  5. There is no other VISA fee. You pay these respective fees at NVC

    IV fee-- $400

    AOS fee-- $70

Once case gets complete and interview date has been scheduled, you only have to complete your Medicals, so whatever it will cost for medical and you also will have to pay your courier fee which is 394 rupees.

Mind you, the letter your husband will receive from Mumbai consulate will state courier fee as 364 rupees, but fees has rised in these past couple of months which Mumbai consulate haven't yet updated with their interview letter.

Please relax, there are no other fees :P I just had my interview around 2 weeks ago and that's all I paid, 394 rupees for VFS and around 3000 rupees for medical.

    CJ and Trinklet

Thank you so much for clearing up all the confusion over this matter. What a relief.....:yes:

For the interview preparations, I have the following, let me know if I'm missing anything.

I-130 ( G325A) All four mine and his pages

DS 230 Package ( copy of passport, 2PCC, Marriage/Birth Cert.,)

    DS3032

AOS Package ( Tax returns, Employment letter....)

    Medical report

    VFS Receipt

    Education Certificates

    Marriage Photo Album with DVD

    2x2 Passport Photos

    anything else????????

  6. Technically you need to submit only VFS fee that is 394 rupees, but just be prepared ( because this is what happened to me )and take these documents with you while going to VFS.

Given you have submitted all the originals with your DS-230 at nvc, so take the photocopies of

-- Marriage certificate, birth certificate, both PCC, any divorce certificate, military service (if applicable)

Fill out or take print out of the DS-230 form which you submitted with NVC, part 1 signed, part 2 unsigned.

Also-- Two 2x2 white background photographs

Take both original and copy of interview letter from Mumbai consulate, only the first page is required as photocopy submission.

They might also ask for the Letter from NVC, with NVC, take photocopy of all the 4 pages.

    Photocopy of beneficiary's passport too.

Also if your husband wishes to submit his Medical report he can do that at VFS. He will only be asked for the medical, not the X-ray report.

I hope I am not missing out something.

Oh make sure you submit everything within 10 to 2 WORKING DAYS

I have bolded working days because of obvious reason, so when you count your days, make sure you look through the holiday list at VFS website, also weekends.

    Best wishes.

    Thanks Trinklet,

Do you know how much is the VISA Fee??

  7. As far as I understand, all you need to do is submit the courier fee there since all your paperwork is already done with NVC. Please take along a letter from NVC confirming that your case is complete or that NVC has received all the original docs.

CJ, first of all, Congrats on your approval, Finally, things are moving for you. NVC will be very fast. Its just matter of getting an interview date.

ok, so, the VFS is for all paperworks. I told my husband to bring passport along with interview letter tot hem.

I have heard that at the Embassay, you have to pay like 7 thousand rupee for VIsa fee. Is that correct????

  8. That's interesting CJ-G. What I cannot comprehend is what my congressman's aide reaffirmed on Friday last week. According to him, my applications (both) were in an adjudicator's hands as of Nov 6. It's going to almost two full working weeks and there is no sign of any online update, RFE or approval. I know that he cannot be lying because he is got nothing to gain from lying to me. In fact, I'd bug him more if I get no results. Either my approval is really around the corner OR it has some serious issues, like getting accidentally dropped in the Nov 08 filers and it would take another 50 years for another review or approval.

I followed up with the congressman's office yesterday so that they inquire about what is going with my applications and he is yet to get back to me. I followed up because he told me to do so on Friday. I wonder what the hell is up here...the anxiety at the finish line is worse than what it was in August - September.

Good Luck to you CJ-G. I won't be surprised if you are approved before. My luck has been the worst in such situations and I don't have any hope for a 'miracle' (i.e. getting approved before Thanksgiving). I see a few early March and mid-March K3 filers getting approved in the past two weeks...it gets interesting.

CJ- I predict that you will gwt your approval in the first week of December. I wish you all the best. It took 265 days for mt from start to approval.

Hope you will hear some good news soon.:star:

  9. Good news! They received the orginal birth certificate and the case is under final review and soon should be complete. Then I will be with the rest of you fine folks...waiting for the interview date.

Well I am so happy. I am buying my ticket to Australia for Christmas and New Year's. It wasn't in our plans at all but we have been saving so much since we have both been at home moping and skipping the going out, partying, eating out, etc... Hopefully our airfares don't go up to much by tomorrow. I am leaving the 23rd of Dec and coming back the 14th of January. We are hoping for an early Jan interview now and maybe I can go with him in Sydney so that he is not all alone. That would be awesome. I was so depressed at the thought of not seeing him until Feb but now I am so excited. Counting the days again.... :luv:

I know its exciting and wonderful feeling. Just hope that everything turns out to be good.
