  1. I am currently in the process of filing my affidavit of support. The form requires you submit a tax transcript which I have no issues with. My question is: I had last year’s taxes filed by a tax preparer with HR Block and they filed it with the filing status of ‘single’ instead of married filing separately due to the fact that my spouse was a non resident alien who lived overseas. Would this pose any problem when filing this form and has anyone had a similar experience? I have also ran into issues with e-file submissions where they do not allowed me to file without a ITIN or SS number which my spouse does not have. Note: I normally file taxes on my own but paid someone to do it for me because of the fact that my marital status changed as well as I purchased property, which made it more complex than the previous years. any insight would be appreciated. Thank you.
  2. Good news!!! My I-824 was approved this morning and my I-130 was reopened and reapproved!! Submitted 07/14/2022 and approved 02/28/2023 thanks for everyone’s insight!!
  3. I was told there is no timeline for 824 at Potomac and they process it in the order it came but I also read on another forum that someone was able to rectify it within 96 days. It’s ridiculous how all they have to do is literally notify NVC of the approval but takes up to 22 months.
  4. I am in the same boat. Mine was transferred from NBC to Potomac in January but have not heard of any progress. I have been waiting since July of 2022 since I submitted my I-824. Anyone have any updates? Do you think it is better to just submit a new I-130? I have already written to congressional reps to inquire about my case and even submitted a request for expedite with no response.
