I'm worried when I called RENIEC, they said that they wouldn't give me my certificate because I should ask my municipality. Got it, but they also said they legalize it, but then it has to be taken to ministerio de relaciones exteriores, this is just for when the birth certificate will be use abroad. Thanks! Was your fiance born in Lima? did he have to deal with RENIEC? I was born in Lima, and told I should get my birth certificate en la municipalidad (municipality, I guess) which I did, that municipality is approved by RENIEC, but still, wanted to ask. Will show you a check list in a week or so!
