  1. Hello All, since the last time I posted our K1 was approved and sent to NVC. We received an email notification on January 3rd that NVC will forward our application to the Embassy in Warsaw and we should receive notification when it's ready to be processed. This was a little over a month ago now and we still have not received anything. I am beginning to worry. Does anyone have any insight on this? Should I give it some more time or should I contact the embassy? Also is there a website where I can check the status of our application at this stage?

  2. Hi everyone I’m currently finalizing our K-1 application however I really don’t have any receipts to scan. I have provided boarding passes, bus tickets, flight itineraries, passport stamps, and photos of us together. Will this be enough? Just a bit stressed about it. I do have a couple of random receipts but nothing with our names.

I have yet to add the 2 receipts I do have as I feel they aren’t really helpful in any way without showing either of our names

How was the border crossing on the bus? I did that once and the border was horribly slow. Wondering if that's still the case.

Also: was this a large comfy charter style bus or a cramped minibus?

It wasn't terribly long maybe 30-45 minutes long. I used a Lux Express so it was a large charter style bus with a bathroom.

Thank you for your recommendations and offer. She will be there from beginning to end.

I don't have an itinerary yet, but will likely fly through Istanbul on Turkish Airlines.

Where about in Russia are you planning on going? If it's near St. Petersburg I'd recommend flying into Helsinki, Finland then taking a bus into Russia. I was there a few months ago and this was the cheapest and fastest way of getting into Russia. Also, it's not dangerous at all there's a lot of media hype meant to scare you away. When I was there everyone was nothing but friendly to me.

I guess it won't be quite that way. For Russia, at the moment, the main consulate where the case will automatically go is Poland, if the address of residence in Russia is indicated. But you can request a transfer of the case to another consulate after the petition has been approved. Not all consulates accept case translations. But by the time you get approved, things can change a lot. Go to the sub-forum Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, it will be easier to find specific information there.

A follow up question to this. In the I29F where is says Consular Processing Information, should I put Warsaw, Poland for now or should I put a different location? Also, thank you so much for your help!

  6. Hello everyone, I actually have a few questions. My fiancé lives in Russia and we are working on the K-1 visa process. We filled out the I-29f form but have seen mixed things on what to include when filing the form. In addition there are no US consulates in Russia which will do the visa interview process. Are we able to go to another country for this? if so which countries can we go to?
