Hi there, first of all i dont want you to worry, this 221g Ds5535 is very normal prcosess. I did lots of reading and research about it, from my experience with that; your answers have to be very accurate as much as you can, dont be scared or worried coz every case is different, they look for a pattern of your travel history, verify your profile. On average it can take anytime between few weeks to 6+ month in the worst case. most important, did they return your passport to you at the end of the interview? If no this is a good sign. if you have done the medical already and by the time they completed your AP will be 6 month after your medical you may need to redo the medical and re submit the results.

Hi everyone, just wanted to share with you some good news i just got my passport back with the visa 3 month on the dot in administrative processing, from october 2022-Jan 2023.. stay strong and positive, btw, when you see status date change it definitely means an update to your info or case, not just someone looked at your file. my status date changed 5 times, clearance obtained by the 3rd time date changed and after 2 month stand still without any movement since October. when dates change subsequently and quick after each other then possibly the good news will come right after.

Did they give you your passport back after the interview or kept it at the embassy? are you canadian citizen originaly from ME -
How long this will take? And if I may need to redo my medical? i received an response to my follow up email from the embassy yesterday saying that “ the case now is pending counsellor review…” however when i emailed them in December they responded “ your case is under administrative processing”; is there any difference between the two responses? does their recent response mean that admin processing is completed?

I have already submitted the egyptian police record to the embassy. It took me 3 month to get it. do you mean that they send to egypt to verify and check?

I left when i was 21 yrs old. i never denied entry to US, i travelled to US more than 20 times through my entire life

I am a canadian citizen, living in canada for 20 years, originally born in egypt. I had my immigrant visa interview for CR1 visa back in October 2022 at US consulate in Montreal. I was given 221g and DS5535 same day. Officer kept my passport and asked for my resume. I work as an engineer. DS5535 and resume had been sent next day of the interview. It has been now 3 month (including weekends and holidays) and status showing refused however the date has changed 4 times Any idea how long the process will take to complete and when to expect hearing back from the embassy? I have read that medical is good for 2 years now, can anyone confirm. Thanks
