anyone else having problem with scheduling interview? I have been trying to schedule for 2 weeks now and nothing is available.

Good morning,
I have completed DS160 and created accounts for my children (they are going to join me in the US) and I know since they are under 14 they do not need an interview but I still have to get medical and submit passport to embassy. I am having no luck in scheduling the interview appointment (there are never any open dates). Is anyone else having a problem with no dates available?

Yes, thank you so much! We are working on it now and since the children will not need interviews, I am hoping it can be issued shortly after completing medical appointments. Thanks again! Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hundreds of people on here have done follow to join. You begin with the Consulate stage of the process that the k1 previously did. So yes, the DS160 is the starting point.
The interview age varies by consulate but age 14 or older is the most common.

Good morning,
Has anyone had the experience of marrying on a K1 visa and bringing thier child to the US at a later date but within the year timeframe? My husbands children were included on the petition but did not come when he came. They told us we had a year to bring the kids over on the K1 petition so I just wanted to know, do I just complete their DS-160 for their visa and once approved they can come? I read where it said, children under 13 did not need an interview. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

How long ago did the K-1 enter the U.S?
Separate petitions are not required if the children accompany or follow to join you within one year from the date of issuance of your K-1 visa. If they want to travel later than one year from the date your K-1 visa was issued, they will not be eligible to receive K-2 visas, and separate immigrant visa petitions will be required
If your child has a valid K-2 visa and you have already adjusted status to that of permanent resident, your child may still travel on the K-2 visa.
While they might still enter as K-2s, for their safety it is better to do as @Verrou advises. As their step parent, you file I-130 before they reach age 21. After two years of marriage submit all required documents to NVC. They will then get IR-2 visas.
My husband came here in April 2023 and we got married shortly after his arrival. I understand that the children could follow on a K2 visa as long as it was before March 2023. I just was trying to see what documents were needed, if they children would be interviewed, etc... What do you mean, "for their safety"? Also, wouldn't going the IR-2 visa route take longer? We are within the year time frame and I just thought we could complete their visa application, get necessary documents together and complete medical exam and that would be all.

Has anyone experienced getting married on a K-1 visa and children to follow at a later date? We are now ready for my husband's children to join us and I just wanted to know the steps. I know we have to complete a DS 160 for each child, get passports and complete the medical exam, but is there anything else? I read that since the children are under 14 years old they don't need an interview. Any information will be helpful. Thank you.

Hello,
My husband is in the process of adjusting his status (K1 visa) and I was wondering if anyone could answer a few questions. We are filing I-485, I-864, I-131, and I-765 and was wondering what documents need to accompany each application. Also, is there just one filing fee since we are filing all documents at the same time or does each application have a fee (I know the I-864 and I-765 does not have a fee). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

Not sure if your spouse will have travel document to accompany the child to interview and then US, you might have to ask a relative or yourself accompany your step child and fly back to the US.
Other option is for USC to petition a step child (I-130) or spouse can apply after becoming an LPR, those take much longer than follow to join.
Thank you. I will go to get the children but my brother in law can accompany the children for the interview. Do you know what ages they interview? The children are 10, 7, and 4.

Hi all,
Just a quick question here. My husband arrived in April on a K-1 visa. We did not bring the children because he wanted to see how things were here in the US before bringing them. Pretty soon we are looking at them coming over but I am not sure what we need to do. Does anyone know the process once the parent has arrived and then sends for the children? The children were listed on the K1 application. Please advise. Thank you.

Also, when filling out the travel application, I know we are to check the advance parole box but do we put an intended travel date. When I read about this application, it sounds as if it is for an emergency travel. Please advise

Good morning,
I am writing in hopes that someone can help me with information pertaining to form I-131. When completing should my husband check the advance parole box or another box? It just seems like the advance parole is requesting travel for an emergency situation and that doesn't apply to him. I thought it was just a form for regular travel. I am a little confused. Also, what location do we send all forms to? We are going to send all together at the same time. Please help. Thank you!

Yes, they do not need to be translated. The previous post is for when you send documents to the NVC and they must be translated. They basically want to check the original documents that you sent to NVC (they ask for copies no originals). No, we have not received anything. The thing is we are waiting to hear from Embassy because we are doing the follow to join for the children. they are under 14 years old so I know they don't require an interview but we still had to complete visa applications. Their status has said ready since their father got his visa so we are just waiting. I was thinking maybe the mother would have to attend the "interview" to deliver passports and medical exams. I guess we will just have to wait. I have called and they say the sent my message/concern to the higher ups so we are waiting to hear something.
