    LOTO! hows Fathima?

    how does she like it here, did she get setteld in?

    just thinkin of what she thinks living here.. im sure shes excited!!

    Hyd (F) Yes, she is fine :star: She is excited and liked the U.S. She had little jetlag and headache due to that, but now, perfectly fine... Got her cell phone (family plan) and bought all kitchen items and groceries, started cooking from yesterday onwards... Unpacked everything and arranged... We are going to join in a health club today... Then she will be start practising the driving on these roads... That's for now... Had nice time together ;)

    COOL!!!! ya im sure she had jetlag due to long travel and wait time.. but glad its all over... thats fun how u got all settled this weekend! and i cant wait til my husband comes we r going to join a health club also!! its good to have company, or elese u get bored haha..

    enjoy ur time together!!

    as for my husband, he went to VFS and submitted all docs and got the receipt.. now next step is interview.. im leaving next thursday.. got my packing done and ready to leave!!

    have you see your case number in the interview list ?? ... NVC operator had told me the interview is scheduled but its not in the Published list form the embassy ??

    dont worryy, check back in a week and ur name wil be on the list..

    this happened to me to..

    nvc scheduled my huby for july 28 at 8am, then when we looked on the list it was not there!! i was so sAD I GOT SCARED!

    then i called chennai and asked if they received my case and confirmed the date was july 28 08

    then i caled NVC they said dont wory about the list..

    i was like OK HMM!! then i checked back in a week and it was on there..

    so give it some time, then when u see ur case number... print out the list and take it with u

    no harm i gues no one knows what theyre doing at this point HAHAA!

    has any one of you checked to see if you number is on the published list form chennai ??

    I called the operator to double check my interview date ...but its not in the published list.

    AandLKC, as I emailed to you, just wait another 10 more days too see your case# in the list... It was similar to Hyd's case... Don't worry!

    not to woryy..it will be there within a week or so.. keep checking the list, wait until ur packet is delivered thru DHL, at chennai, and then call them 2 days later, they wil tell u if they received the case or not.. then check the list everyday! and i suggest u make a print out of it, i did that and will be carryin the list with me to my husbands interview HAAHA!! best to be prepared!!

    Hey LOTO buddy - sorry for the confusion - I think I'm just excited for you and Fathima, and eventually me and Neetu, that I jumped the gun and thought she was here :) At the time I'm posting this message she should have landed about 50 minutes to an hour ago :)

    LOTO.. i know u must be busy, but no posts from u HJAHAHA!! wheres is FATHIMA, did she make it safely?? how does she like it here??

    maybe u should get some dinner ready for her, since she has a late night arrival, and many rest. will be closed? i duno...

    Hyd (F) She departed from Mumbai at 2:00PM, expecting at New Jersey tonight at 11:00PM. Another 12 more hours...

    Let's try to get some light dinner from the outside tonight ;) It is not because some extra money in my pocket, it is due to the lack of cooking knowledge inside me :star:

    Thanks a ton to VJ forum helping us go through this journey, I can't imagine without this forum how we could go through the process and get all the information we got here. Probably now I can laugh at it, from VJ it is not just my husband and I who became knowledgeable but also a very well known law firm in NY/NJ as well. Based on the information we had, my husband and I had to educate our lawyer to do the necessary step by step and still they made mistakes that costed us time and not to speak about the lump some money that we are going to shell out on them. Based on this bitter experience we both are smarter when it comes to lawyers now and no regrets as it was just my husband's love towards me that he insisted on hiring him so that things don't go wrong :star: (Now I can say that ... after grumbling to him many times how dumb the lawyer is B)

    My interview is on 28th August 8:00 A.M......... :dance: :dance: :dance: Now suddenly I don't know where to start from....packing and getting ready for the interview.... and to join my husband.... :star:

    Thanks a ton again folks and wish you all the others a faster and smooth journey... I will have most of you all in my prayers.

    Hey guys - just wondering if we should really have our spouse say ZERO dollars ... They are exempt up to $800 as RESIDENTS of the USA ... I figure it may be more "realistic" for them to say something like $100 ... but I'm advising Neetu not to bring sweets or anything so as to avoid any problems in case they are picky with her (no food items declared and I don't want her actually "sneaking" any in lol) ...

    Rajee (F) , make sure Neetu is not flying by Air India...

    Only reason I booked in Air India was just the convenience of the timing from Cochin to the U.S.

    Their food is horrible, just below the average restaurant quality...

    All air hostess are well above the retirement age... (Their retirement age is 80 years or their grandchildren's marriage, whichever comes early)

    Good luck to Neetu (F) for her interview soon...

    so what wil fathima be diong for those 7 hours at mumbai? wil she remain at airport??? thats a very long time

    Fathima started check-in at Cochin airport - got the call just now :star::star::star:

    7 hours delay Mumbai - New Jersey connection due to technical issues... :devil:

    ur kidding ME!! omggg now she has to wait for 7 hours..??

    wowwwwwwww LOTO i wish her a safe and happy and smooothh journey.

    i cant belive it!! almost 24 hours left for her to comeeeeeeeeeeeee.....

    i can imagine what u r going thru.. i bet u she wil cry at airport leavin all bhind!! but then u will see her big smile at airport here in NJ!! inshallah

    Hello All,

    Just got off from NVC operator asking for the interview date if it has been assigned to our case yet.. The lady replied.. Yes it has.... I was like.. woow... which one. She said " August 27th, 2008 at 7:30am" :dance::dance::dance:

    I am so much happy.. Called my husband and told him first.. He is also so much happy..

    Thank You to all VJ members and visitors for all your support and well wishes.. I am sure i will need all that until my husband receives the visa on hand..

    Again, Thank you so much.. and i am very much happy. I cann't express the happiness and excitment that i am having right now while posting this... No words at all..

    Special Note:

    Hyd617, You were right about calling on 10th... I sure did and got the date.. Thanks a lot for that...really happy about this.. :dance::dance:

    as fas as DHL if one package was sent during that time to mumbai, it must be urs!!

    hope it is!!

    u cant be sure, but i only had one package sent to chennai and then i signed up for the DHL text mesage for that package.. so when it arrived and left certain places i got a text message..

    then i got amesage sayin it was received by chennai, and when i caled them the next day, they said it was received! so yes it was mine.. :)

    i also signed for getting updates on the package sent.. Whom did you call to verfiy that it was your package.. Like you called NVC or at Chennai consulate...

    No more actions here...

    well i guess i can update here,

    my husband in in chennai, and got his medical done and everything went well he said..and i will post a review for future members going thru chennai for their medical, soon..

    right now he is touring and chillin in chennai and will take a flight back to hyderabad tom..

    That's great Hyd (F)(L) So, he's done one more step in the immigration and the final step is INTERVIEW :dance::dance::dance:

    i know!! i have 15 DAYS TO LEAVE AND TO BE WITH HIM forever and everrr inshallah!!

    i just cant believe IT!
