  1. Yes, he was definitely new. Didn't ask us anything personal. Didn't look at any photos or bills, etc. Didn't look or ask for my most recent tax return transcript (The one he had on file was from 2023). Then he told us that we need to do a medical. We kept telling him it was done and the envelope was provided to border patrol when we entered. HE didn't understand but then he left the room and came back with his supervisor. She showed him in the file where the medical exam was. He laughed and said I didn't realize that the medical exam was in the sealed envelope. She instructed him to open it. She looked at it with him and told him it looked good and there were no issues. The whole thing was very odd but at the time we felt fortunate since it was such a simple interview with no real questions asked of us. He told us at the end that we were an easy approval and then we talked about our travel plans and he was talking about similar travel plans he was doing. I told him I was nervous to purchase my flight tickets but he said nothing to be nervous about and I can go do it when I get home (Which I did LOL). Anyway, I guess we will continue to wait while we continue harassing them to make a move on our file.
  2. Some background: We entered as a K1 Visa. Got Married within 90 days and filed for AOS (I-485) in January 2024. We finally had our interview at the Tampa field office on May 27, 2025. At the interview we had a "new" officer who seemed a little confused about the whole process. Luckily our attorney was present and helped him understand. He didn't ask any specific questions about our marriage or ask to see any of our evidence (not even tax transcript). At the end of the interview he Congratulated us and told us we were approved (he even mentioned our case was one of the easiest he had so far). He said we would receive our Green Card by June 10, most likely. We explained that we had a European Cruise planned for July but didn't purchase our flights yet. He told us it is not a problem and we can go ahead and purchase our flights because our green card will arrive prior to when we leave. Fast forward to today, June 25. We still do not have our green card and the online system has not been updated. The last update was from April when we received our interview notice. We spoke with two different people (Tier 1) at USCIS who said there is nothing we can do and we just have to wait. The system still shows "pending". I asked if we can be transferred to a tier 2 officer and was told no because we are still in normal processing times (LOL) and we won't be able to seek a tier 2 officer until after September 2026 (more than a year from now!). In the meantime, I contacted my congressman who reached out but has not received a response. I also sent a letter in the mail to the field officer director. I really don't know what else to do. Has anyone else had to wait this long after the interview? and if so, how long did it take? We have Advanced Parole but our attorney is telling us to cancel our international travel plans because if the green card gets approved while we are out of the country, the advance parole will automatically be revoked and we would have an issue when trying to re-enter the country. This whole process is so frustrating!
  3. The approved I-129F form comes as an attachment with the welcome letter from the embassy. Basically it is the scanned version of your I-129F with "Approved" stamped on it and a bar code sticker placed on the top. It is e-mailed to the beneficiary.
  4. Hi.  I saw that you just had your interview at the Ankara embassy.  Congratulations on the approval! We are interviewing there in 3 weeks.  Was your fiancé allowed in the building or did they have to wait somewhere outside the building?  I will be traveling to be with my fiance when he interviews and just wasn't sure where I am allowed to be when he has his interview.  Thanks.

Hi Dan, thank you. Unfortunately only the interviewee is allowed into the building, but there is a waiting area in front of the gate,(benches) and a starbucks across the street. The weather is getting chilly, so the waiting area may not be the best option. Wish you the best results!

Thank you. Also, you mentioned in your review that you saw several people get denied while waiting.  Were they K1 visa applicants or were they applying for something else? Do you know why they would have been denied?  Thank you :)

Some K1, some other categories. I wasn't able to pinpoint why exactly they were denied, as multiple interviews go on at the same time.

  5. Having same issue in Turkey. Been searching day and night 24/7 for weeks now and no openings. I belong to a Turkish WhatsApp group and some members have been searching for 4-5 months without any luck. It's definitely very frustrating.
  6. I am in the Turkey embassy too and it's very frustrating. I know a lot of people who have been trying for months to get an interview but they don't open slots or just open a few randomly. I have been trying for 3 weeks without any luck.
  7. I am in a similar situation. I have a few million in the bank but my income is very low and I am about $1000 under the poverty guidelines. I was going to get a co-sponsor but my attorney informed me that so long as I provide my tax returns (even though I don't meet the poverty guidelines) and a year of bank statements, I should have no problem. So I am hoping my attorney is correct. We are waiting for our interview date.
  8. I asked this same question to my attorney last week and she told me that K1 visa is considered a non-immigrant visa, so the answer would be no.
  9. How often do you communicate via FaceTime? Like the others stated, it is important to see your fiance in person at least once (if not more) before the interview. Not only is it important to convince the consulate officer but also if you're not spending a lot of time with that person 1-on-1 then how are you certain marriage is right. Trust me, the worse thing you want is to get married with someone you barely met and then go through a tough divorce. Just my opinion.
  10. My NOA1 is June 16, 2022. My range is 95XXX. Any idea why I haven't heard anything yet?
