  1. I just recently went through this, I sent in by mail and was being indecisive about uploading online.. by the time I finally decided it already processed so I ended up not uploading online 😅. I came to the conclusion though it would be 100% best to mail physically and follow the instructions as well as upload.
  2. My husband (Canadian) is a freelancer so he is able to take time off easily so it would be ideal for him to visit me in America. That's my only concern, since he is self employed I'd be worried about the CBP officer not believing him when he says he intends on returning to Canada. He's never had a problem at the border before though! Anyway thank you for the info
  3. Disheartening to hear! Is my husband able to visit me while waiting for the interview letter? Or is it advised not to? We haven't seen each other since April. I realize I could go see him but he is more flexible and able to take more time off work than I can.
  4. Say it ain't so was hoping some people got through faster than 6 months.
  5. Got DQ today for my husband's CR-1... I was curious to see if anyone has received the IL earlier than expected, which I believe right now is 6 months according to: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/iv-wait-times.html We are feeling the fatigue since we started this process last August, I know there have been worse cases and we are grateful that things are moving along. Just missing him a lot since I haven't been able to see him since April this year. Thanks for any insight!
  6. DQ received today!!!! We were delayed by a week because we made a mistake and didn't have the "large" birth certificate. Was so anxious thinking it'd be a longer delay.
  7. Another update! We got approved! We have a similar issue to the person above where the status didn't update but there is clearly an approval letter in the documents section
  8. Just updating, got the notice yesterday at 11:30 PM that they received the evidence! So my dilemma was over haha. I got several notifications today that they are still processing my request.. wonder why I got it twice!
  9. RFE received 9/26 😢 we sent it in overnight and followed the paper instructions very closely... but I saw I now have a a "respond with evidence" button on my USCIS account page online. USPS confirmed USCIS received our papers, sent it certified... I'm confused, do I also upload online? EDIT: wanted to mention nowhere on the paper notification we received did it say to upload online. Just an address on where to send everything back including the cover sheet.
  10. 😊 Time has flown by.. how are you guys holding up?
  11. Sorry meant to update, he's back home now in Canada and we checked the I-94, thankfully he didn't overstay it. Thank you again for the advice and information!
  12. He 100% intended on going home but things happened and he ended up staying a month longer after 3 months. While adjusting sounds tempting, I'm way too much of a straight arrow and nervous nelly to go through that process. However, I will look into it. Thanks again for the advice!
  13. Thanks everyone for the replies, it's been insightful 🥲 he will return home and we'll chill out with the visits.
  14. To my understanding, an extension is not needed since Canadians are allowed to stay for 6 months upon entry: https://ca.usembassy.gov/canadians-requiring-visas/
  15. Hi all, Apologies if this is the wrong category for this question but I'm married to a Canadian and we applied for the CR-1 on August 2024. Since then, he's come to visit and has been here since November 2024 (132 days ago today). He was supposed to go home in January but decided to extend his trip until April since he's allowed to be here for 182 days. As for finances, he freelances when he's home in Canada (not doing work in USA don't worry :-) he has savings and I make enough to support us both). We would like for him to stay until May since that's the final 6 months that's allowed. My question is, will this impact our CR-1 application if he stays for this long? As per the new executive order, we did register here: https://www.uscis.gov/alienregistration but since he's Canadian he's supposedly exempt from fingerprinting but at least has to make an account and register. Thanks for any advice!
  16. Wasn't able to find a topic for August 2024 filers so here we are 🙂 Filed on August 1st, 2024!
