Hello! I am a US citizen currently living abroad with my Venezuelan husband. We are expecting our first baby in February. The new form for Venezuelans would be much faster and could mean that my husband could be with me when the baby is born. Venezuelans who are a permanent resident of another country do not qualify. However, we heard that the card given to venezuelans in Peru was more of a one year permit and does not hold the same status. Has anyone heard information confirming or denying this? Can he be in Peru or does the person have to be in Venezuela when filing? Should we go for this option or go ahead and begin the marriage visa application instead?
