  1. Will there be any problem if we don't have a utility bill that has my name on it? all other documents we have has my name on it including our lease agreement, car insurance, joint taxes, joint bank accounts, birth certificate of our son, medical insurance, and etc. but still wondering if this would affect us negatively. we don't have time to change our utility profile to include my name because we only have a week until we submit our ROC documents to USCIS. please advise.

  2. you can do all 3 options you've mentioned and you can also get that paper type ID from the DMV where you and your wife can indicate your new home address. you need to carry this with you together with your driver's license as this will show your current address. we used to live in San Diego and this is what my husband and I do everytime we change address.

OK so I am an idiot. I made the dumbest mistake on my I-751 petition. we had just recently moved when i was filling it out(we had moved to our new residence 2 days prior) and for my wofes address i put our current address, for my address i put the previous address we lived in just out of habit, and of course got a request for evidence. it says it appears you and your spouse don't live together"please submit a photo copy of you license or state i.d showing the same residential address" seems like no big deal, except here in california when you change your address online or at the dmv they don't send you a new license reflecting the new address, they simply just update there computers....so what do i do? print out the dmv page that says that the don't send out new licenses? and send a copy of both our leases, and maybe a written statement from the apartment manager saying we have lived together?

    please respond

  3. Hi -

My first name is Maria but during our K3 petition my husband and I used Ma. as indicated in all my documents from the Philippines. I've also used my maiden surname as my middle name on all our paper works at that time but now that I living here, I've started using the spelled out "Maria" not the abbreviated form on all my paper works including IDs, etc. and also use my middle name Cassandra as my middle name except of my maiden surname. As this is the case, I would like to ask if it's valid that I use Maria (first name) and Cassandra (middle name) on our I-751 form since all of my current documents shows this as my full/complete name. I will just indicate the previous name I used on the other names used question on part 3 of the I-751.

Please let me know if this will work? I don't want to confuse the USCIS and get RFEs.

Thanks in advance for the replies!

  4. I have filed COA already for 4 times since I had to stay in other state for my work purposes. Every time you move and settle to a new place, you have to change your address if you are a GC holder.

You have 10 days to file the COA upon your arrival in the new address.

I changed my address for several times now. First time I did it was when we moved to a different apartment when we're still living in San Diego, CA then changed it again when we transferred to Arizona. I actually had to changed it three times here in Arizona because the first house we were in was at my husband's bestfriend then 2 weeks after that we moved to a house but because my job is in downtown Phoenix, we decided to transfer again for convenience purposes. All these COA I made were done online. I just printed out a copy of the completed COA for my records.

  5. I honestly think that my friend lost her brain when she met this guy. Over the course of their one year relationship, they've only been with each other personally for 2 weeks. A week when he visited her in the Philippines and the 12 days that she was here in the US. Not sure how often they communicate through phone, email or chat because she would always tell me that he's a busy man. All I know is that the guy asked her to shoulder her kid's visa processing expenses, that he initially gave the kid a one month deadline (as soon as they arrived here) to adjust and like him and deliberately changing his mind and postponing their wedding plans to the point that her visa would have reach its end of life already. His infamous line is "Let's see if this will work" referring to their relationship as some sort of experiment when she thought that everything has already been decided.

I tried to talk her out of this mess even before she got here as I already had a hunch that this will happen but she still pushed through with her plans even though her instincts says it's wrong. I am just happy that they're already back home and safe. I believe that the 2 years of waiting promise that the guy gave is nonsense. I told her to use her brain and not consider going back here if it's with the same guy, but all she can tell me is that she loves him and still wants to marry him. The guy obviously didn't love her enough or rather, didn't love her at all and she should consider herself lucky that they were sent home before everything gets worst.

Thanks all for your inputs. I'll share your thoughts with her. God bless.

  6. I have a friend who went here on a K1 visa but was sent home by her fiance after only 12 days of stay here. Reason given to her was that he can't get along with her son from a previous relationship who btw, is barely 2 years old. The guy decided to put their wedding on hold because of the kid's inability to like him. I told my friend that his reasoning is totally absurd and thought that her fiance is just using her son as an excuse to get rid of her, but bottomline is he really is dumping her for good. Not to mention that the guy actually hit her kid on their 2nd day here for crying too much. Ridiculous!

Anyhow, she wants to know if she can be petitioned by the same person after 2 years and push through with their wedding plans? the guy actually told her that he will just wait until her kid is old enough to to like him.

Will appreciate your thoughts on this matter. Thanks!

  7. suggest you also bring loose photos :)

are pictures should be in an album(small) or not when you present it during the interview?

i used clear book (not more than 1 inch thick. so its easy to slide on their window)... its better to have a caption too like the date and the place and people in the photos... good luck

  8. Congratulations! We'll also be having our interview at the Chula Vista service center on Tuesday, Feb 17. All our supporting documents including our bills, insurances, letter from IRS re: my tax number, bill from my recent dental work, as well as delivery receipts of our purchases showing my name are placed in the accordion envelope we specifically bought for our AOS interview. We'll also bring the compilation of greeting cards/letters we got from our family and friends (including the delivery receipt from my mom-in-law's gift to us last Christmas), our wedding album, most recent photos and the webcam photo scrapbook I used during my interview in the Philippines. We're hoping and praying that our interview will be as successful as everyone else knowing that it will be more easier this time since my husband and I will be doing this together :)

  9. some more kakaiba's that i've seen so far -

    > water refilling station na vending machine

    > self-service na car wash

    > 90 days return/replace policy on purchased items

    nakakaaliw :D

  10. if this indeed is true then why procrastinate? this type of situation needs immediate attention and best way to handle this is to seek assistance. you should be able to inform your fiance about what happened without any hesitation.

  11. wow that was fast  congratulations!

:star: July 28 ................finally I received my green card!!!!! :wow: ......to the rest especially our VJ friends and kababayans, me and my wife wish you G :thumbs: d Luck and God bless :innocent: !!!!
  12. my husband and I are so happy to see the mail we got from USCIS earlier containing a letter for my biometrics appointment :) we can't believe that we'll get it this early because we just filed our AOS application last July 16 :dancing: and receiving a letter from USCIS as fast as this is so unusual for couples like us who waited so long to be together. it's unbelievably fast

  13. I've been here for 24days now and been losing weight eversince. I'm down to 124lbs and I stand 5"8... underweight so to speak but I'd rather lose weight than gain some :D

It's hard to resist all ths sinful foods in here but I never really had any problems evading fatty foods even when I was in the Philippines. I haven't eaten rice eversince I left Manila but I'm not really a conventional rice eater. My husband and I stuffed ourselves mostly with veggies and fruits and only eat sinful foods as a reward for maintaining our weight. Working out, a little bit of walking, swimming, biking and even cleaning the house also helps a lot

I guess eating moderately is one key to maintain our weight. Just imagine yourselves in a 2pc swimsuit... B) My other goal is to still be "sexy" even if we already have kids...
