  1. hello! can somebody please correct my N400 information on the tracking table we have for Dec 2011 N400 filers? I should be in the Phoenix, AZ Lockbox list (I actually live in Phoenix...) and USCIS received my NOA last 12/20 not 12/22 as earlier communicated. Thanks appreciate it!

Also, is it true that some of us will not require another biometrics and just go straight to the interview process?

  2. Hi -

I am an LPR and I just want to know if I am already eligible to petition my father for an immigration visa. I am about to give birth to our 2nd baby and our first born is almost 17 months old. I work full time and my husband is about to attend summer school so we would really want some help from family members (we don't have any relatives in AZ).

I will be eligible to apply for US citizenship next year, February. We can wait to petition my dad until I'm a USC but if we can already sponsor him now that would be better. I guess what I'm trying to say here is which route should we choose? I believe my USC husband is not eligible to sponsor his father-in-law.

    Appreciate your replies.

    Thanks,

    timcass

  3. Glad to hear about your decision. It was very timely and you should be proud of yourself

Generally speaking, people in the Philippines think that when you're in the US you are "RICH" but that's not the case and they will never ever understand it unless they experienced life in here. I remember talking to my family even before I married my USC husband that things will definitely change and that they have to find ways to support themselves because we are gonna be starting a family of our own and they shouldn't expect too much from us especially when it comes to finances. They didn't took it negatively and instead everyone started contributing to fill in the gap I made by finishing their studies and eventually finding a job and this is what your wife's family should do.

I'm not sure if your wife will be working but in my case, I told my family that we'll only be able to give them some assistance if we have "extra money" or if we get ourselves situated and is earning enough to provide for everyone. I was actually surprised when they told me that it's not necessary and that we are not obligated at all to finance their lives. I hope your wife's family realize how much you've helped them and with all the money you've sent, the only thing that they should really be saying is THANK YOU and that they APPRECIATE everything you've done.

  4. There's nothing wrong with sending money and helping your wife's family but you should know your limits. You also have to remind yourself that your wife's family is not your responsibility and therefore should not be obligated to send money or support on a regular basis. Starting a family in the US is not easy especially with the current economy so they shouldn't expect you to be of assistance all the time. Tell your wife to talk to her family and help them understand that you are married to your wife and she and your unborn child are the ONLY responsibility you have.

  5. ok... so I just finished my Biometrics and glad that's done. I, however, was a bit upset because the picture taken of me was unacceptable in my criteria :( my eyes on the photo were half closed and I looked silly! I asked the guy who administered my biometrics if he can re-take my picture because my eyes are half closed but his only reply was "no, they're good to go"... and didn't even offered a smile or say have a nice day! geez... isn't he aware that I would have that photo on my new greencard and that I am stuck with it until I apply for citizenship?!? I would have complained a lot more but I thought is it really worth it? and who knows what they can do with my photo/signature and fingerprints right? oh well! it is what it is... I just hope and pray that I'll get better service next time I go to a USCIS office. And that my ROC gets approved soon!

Wishing you all a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year!

  6. Hi All,

I am a green card holder with pending ROC status and my husband and I are thinking of having my 28yo sister come here as a visitor to help take care of our 1yo son. I am also pregnant at the moment and will give birth end-May or early-June 2011 so we would really need additional help with the kids given that we're both working. We will be sponsoring her stay here and would also pay for her visa processing but we're not sure if she'll be approve. So what do you think will be her chances of getting approve?

We also have another sister who has an existing US touris visa but she's unable to quit her job because of a 2 years bond in her contract with her current employer. If she doesn't have a bond then we wouldn't have a problem sending her here.

    Thanks and appreciate your replies.

  7. I was also hoping to get mine this week since they've already cashed our check. We also paid through personal check and yes, I agree with you. It will be easier to track if you use personal check plus it is an additional evidence itself as it contains both yours and your spouse name.

Sent ours on the 19th as well. No NOA yet but I think for sure it will be this week. They cashed the check (it was a personal check) so I have confirmation without waiting for the mail to send me the signed confirmation back. I would suggest everyone send their money by personal check just for this reason, plus hopefully both names are on the personal checks.

  8. ok - thanks!

I would say around 2 weeks...

I noticed on the November filers thread that you already received your NOA last 11/22. I haven't receive mine yet but saw on our online bank account that they've already cashed the check.

I sent mine on 19th too with delivery confirmation and I confirmation two days ago. I also checked with my bank and they have allready cashed the cheque. Yeah I am waiting for NOA too. My concern is that I am hoping that they have my new updated address to send the NOA to and not the old one. I send the AR-11 and I-865 a week before I send my I-751 since I did not know about it.

  9. Hi -

We just sent our ROC packet to CSC last Friday, Nov 19th and was curious as to when we will receive our NOA? can you please let me know when to expect it based on your experiences? a week, 2 weeks, 1 month or so???

We also sent it as a certified mail and we haven't receive the confirmation back yet. I know it will be a little slow because of the holidays but I just want an estimate timeline as to when we should expect to received our NOA.

Thanks and Have a wonderful Thanksgiving to all of you!

  10. Thanks Abhay! We sent our ROC packet last Friday, Nov 19 and included 20 photos :)

List looks decent. I would add 10-15 pictures. Don't worry about size of your package and number of pictures!

Thanks v333k! wow that's a lot of photos :) we only sent 20 but just like what you did, it was taken during different occassions so we think that will be sufficient enough :)

We printed 4 pictures on an 8.5x11 page, and included 23 major events in our past together... so 23 pages with a total of 92 pictures... that's just us though!

Abhay is correct though... do not worry about the size of the package...

  11. oh thanks for pointing that out! It was a typo error :) fee should be $545 :)

I included my green card on the list but referred to it as permanent resident card :) Thanks for the reply!

If your check was only for $54.00, you need to add the coupon.

Assuming you also added a copy of both sides of your Green Card but just forgot to list it here, you are good to go. I would suggest to add 2 or 3 pages of 3 (4x6) photos each. Holidays, birthday party, vacation, whatever you have.

  12. Hi All -

We're about to send our ROC documents and my husband and I are both wondering how many photos to send? Like what is a good number? 5? I don't want to send a bunch...

Also, can you please browse through our list of ROC documents and let me know if it is complete and ready to send or if I missed to include something. Here it is -

    - signed I-751 form

    - check payment ($54.00)

    - List of previous addresses (we relocated from CA to AZ)

    - Photocopy of Permanent Resident Card (front and back)

    - Copy of my husband's Drivers License

    - Copy of my Drivers Permit and State ID

    - Birth Certificate of our son

    - Copy of apartment lease showing joint occupancy

    - Joint Tax Returns (2007-2009)

    - Joint Savings and Checking Account (2008-2010)

    - Medical Insurance

    - Hospital records for me and our son

    - Copy of my husband's Family Medical Leave Act Application form

    - My pay stubs showing that it was filed as Married

    - Vehicle Insurance Policy

    - Most recent photos

    Thanks!

  13. Thanks v333k and SonoranSongBird for your replies. We relocated from CA to AZ and since we are too busy with the move my husband and I didn't really thought of adding both of our names in any of our utility bills since both our licenses will show that we have the same home address plus the apartment lease.
