  1. Congratulations! We are interested in transferring as well as there is a long queue at the Nairobi embassy as well. Can we ask what was the reasoning you gave when requesting the transfer that was approved? Did you send the request directly to the embassy? Thanks!
  2. We are currently a CR1 visa, DQ’d 3/13/23 has anyone gotten an interview letter recently? It seems as though they haven’t been doing many family visas in recent months but hopeful that will change!
  3. I would be cautious about submitting your personal information on that link. I’m unable to find any info about a town hall meeting on the embassy website and that link is not a part of the embassy website.
  4. I agree completely, we are waiting to be dq’d now and we’re so disappointed with the wait times people are reporting. Then to see that they are doing so few month after month while doing hundreds in other categories is very disheartening. They did do over 100 cr1/ir1 in march 2022 so we pray they pick up the pace!
  5. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-statistics/immigrant-visa-statistics/monthly-immigrant-visa-issuances.html the info can be found here. I am very confused that it says they granted 543 e3 visas. When I look this up it says it is an Australian professional specialty visa and you gave to be an Australian to qualify. If this is accurate why in the world would they go through Nairobi?
  6. They issued a whopping 17 ir1 visas and 0 cr1 visas in January 2023. This is a decline versus January 2022 when they issued a total of 56 cr1/ir1 visas. Very disappointing!!!
  7. Hello, we have submitted our ds260 recently but realize now we could have made a mistake. The ds260 asks for current employment which is what we provided but after reading information online we are seeing they may actually want work history for the last 10 years. Is this accurate? If it is, what is our best course of action? At this point we’re thinking about just uploading the rest of the work history on the website. Any input is appreciated, Thanks!
  8. This is for an i864 form, if I remember correctly you answered on another thread recently that mail is not generated from this form. Anything that would be sent to my spouse in response to this form I can receive and forward to her if necessary. As far as the visa is concerned she will be required to interview outside of her home country and must use a dhl near the embassy in the country of interview. This will be handled at the interview stage.
  9. We have decided to use the petitioner address for mailing address after conversing with another vj couple with the same issue that recently got dq’d. Thank you all for your assistance!
  10. On the i130 it asked only for physical address and that you could leave the street name and number blank if there wasn’t one. So we only filled in the city, province, and country.
  11. It would go to the local fed ex or dhl office and get picked up there
  12. Hello, we are pre filling our i864ez while waiting for our payments to process at NVC and we are not 100 percent sure what the best answer is for the immigrants mailing address. My spouse does not have a mailing address as there is not home mail delivery in her country. I’m thinking our options are to use my home address or put N/A for this part. Any suggestions on how to answer this part? Anyone who has had this problem, what did you fill in for this question? Thank you so much for any and all help regarding this!
  13. Hello VJ Members, we need your help on this, we recently got approved and now at NVC stage, My husband and I filled this below question with an Answer being “Kampala consulate” and now we understand that immigrate visas can only be granted in Nairobi. “The beneficiary will not apply for adjustment of status in the United States, but he or she will apply for an immigrant visa abroad at the U.S. Embassy or U.S. Consulate in:”(Uganda,Kampala) our question is would we be affected by this in any way since our case number contains a Kampala code what is Likely to happen in this case. your responses would be much appreciated.

  15. Unfortunately I can’t help with this question but I’m very curious about the embassy switch because I didn’t know it was possible just because the “home” embassy is taking longer to process because visas. May I ask how did you go about getting this transfer approved? Thanks.
  16. Hello, we are curious if filing a k3 could in any way have a negative impact on our processing time? From what we have read we don’t see any downsides to doing it. We currently are at a little over 7 months since now our NOA1 at the Texas service center. Our estimated remaining wait time according to uscis is 4 months. Thank you in advance for any and all insights!
  17. Thank you all for the feedback. We are much more informed on what to do in the event we would successfully add to our family!
  18. Thank you for this info. The CRBA is something we hadn’t previously known about but the petitioner is a us citizen born in the us so it does look like it could be a good option for us.
  19. My wife and I have filed an i130 and it is in progress. We would like to start a family but we are not certain about how having a newborn would affect our process. We think that if she were to become pregnant the baby could be due close to the time of her interview. So we are wondering what we would need to do if we have a newborn slightly before the interview and what would happen if we had the baby shortly after the visa approval (what we need to do to bring the baby with her when she comes to the us). Any help, advice, or linked information would be greatly appreciated!
