rgdrake4938 got a reaction from PokuPoku in Immigration Officer Calls my fiance on the phone
My fiance had her k1visa interview in Addis Ababa Ethiopia on November 6th. She was approved,  we have not received the visa as of yet.  Today an Immigration Officer called and asked if she knew my ex wife's full name. She said no, so the Officer emailed me and asked for a document with her full name on it. Maybe the issue is my fiance's middle name us the same name as my ex wife's last name. Anyone ever experience this before?

Check CEAC site with your NVC case number and wait for that to show Ready. Prepare I-134 if you are a petitioner with supporting evidence, tax transcripts etc and provide it to your beneficiary.

    Congrats and good luck!

Thanks. I remember you in February thread. Congratulations by the way. Good choice on choosing Filipino woman.

    Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to provide an update on my immigration journey with my husband. I saw something similar happen to another poster and just wanted to let you guys know.

I use to be a K1 visa applicant and then switched over to the I-130 process after a year of waiting. I switched knowing that by doing so I would be starting over completely with the immigration process. However, my husband and I decided that even if we had to wait an additional year or two that in the end it would be worth it since he would be able to work straight away upon arrival, travel, and other things etc.

Our I-130 was processed at the Vermont service center and we received approval today (about four months which is insanely fast especially for this service center). Our K1 was not yet closed, and theoretically if we had stuck with the k1 visa it would have been approved around this time. Because this has happened to another poster, I think that our k1 visa inadvertently expedited our I-130 case.

I wish everyone the best on their immigration journey!
