  1. Wait... what?? I never knew this. I thought the AOS was the same as the marriage green card and I didn't think the process was this much longer. I did so much research beforehand and still it seems like I chose the wrong option.
  2. So in January we submitted the green card application. Recently we got approved for the travel document. Still waiting for EAD. Called a customer service person and they said 2026 was the latest that we can expect the green card will be approved. Obviously we need it approved before then. Don't have social security number which we missed the window to apply for when I first got here. Have they really been taking this long for marriage green cards? I understand non marriage green cards but I expected them to be quicker with reviewing marriage green cards.
  3. What do you think would happen if I put the other family members he'd be traveling with, but at some between the time the ds160 is submitted and the time he goes to the interview, the plan changes and it's only my father (the one whose ds160 it is) is the one traveling. Will that cause issues at the interview? We anticipate that all of my family members will be traveling together, but there's also a possibility that one or more may not be able to travel later on when the time comes to travel. Just want to know if the discrepancy will cause issues at the interview.
  4. I'm trying to apply for a few family members to be able to come visit me in the US as my green card is still processing and I don't have approval to travel outside of the US yet. I did some research and I'm finding the process of applying for family members to be a bit confusing. Some questions I had were: 1.) Let's say I'm applying for just one person (my father). When it asks if you're traveling alone I say no. It then prompts me to add the other people traveling with you. I add both of my sisters, and my brother. Once I have done this, however, it's unclear to me if this means everyone who is added to the application aside from the original applicant (my father) is then automatically applying for their own visas once the application is submitted. 2.) I have read that even if each person's name was added to the main application, they would still have to complete their own individual DS 160 form. If this is the case, what is the point of adding them to the main application? 3.) Does adding individual family members to the overall DS 160 application mean that if for whatever reason, the visa is denied for one person, it's then automatically denied for all of them? Please explain this process to me. Thank you.
  5. I have but I'm saying is there a way to talk to a representative rather than a machine because I couldn't reach a rep
  6. So is there any way to get someone to talk to on the phone with USCIS? I get they probably receive a large volume of calls but I really need to talk with someone at this point.
  7. Is there any way we can get them to move faster with the EAD because it doesn't seem like there was an issue with that. It just seems like they're waiting for the fixed application so they can process everything together.
  8. I didn't. We submitted the packet several months ago thinking we had everything they wanted in it. It's just that they sent it back saying that we had to do a few extra things that turn out to be taking kinda longer than anticipated.
  9. Been kinda stuck in the green card filing stage for a while (several months now) and I had a few questions before resubmitting our application: 1.) If I'm filling out the i864, and I have a job but just started the job and haven't even received my first paycheck yet, is it still fine to put that job down for my place of employment if I happen to know what my annual salary would be? Or would I need to already have earned that salary amount in order to put it on my i864? 2.) How much do I need for make if I'm just sponsoring my wife for the Green card? 3.) Is it quicker to just ask them to send a social security number for my wife through the green card application or employment authorization form, or can I just walk into a local social security office and have my wife apply for a social security number? I'm really ready to get this Green card process behind me and it has been dragging out for far too long.
