  1. Hi all, Could you guys please write down the specific month of 2022 on which your case started the deliberation process ? So we have an idea about how many months are completed processing this year and how many left. Mine pending since Sep, 2022. Thank you.
  2. Here is my timeline as of today: 2/2021 USCIS received I-612 application 11/2021 I-612/I-613 case transferred to DOS 9/2022 DOS received I-612/I-613 ( I-612/I-613 appeared on the DOS website) 10/2023 The case is still pending ( 2 years and 8 months with USCIS and 13 Months at DOS).
  3. I lost 10 months because of issues with I-613/I-612. USCIS received my case in Feb. 2021 and forwarded it to DOS in Nov. 2021. However, the I-613/I-612 did not appear on the DOS website until Sep. 2022. (almost a year after). The case is still pending 2 years and 8 months with USCIS and 13 Months at DOS.
  4. With this painful reality, where do go from here? is there anything we can do as a group collectively to voice our concerns and struggles with this endless process through the appropriate channels?
  5. Dose anyone know about last year's waiver stats and how many hardship vs other waiver cases were processes?
  6. No, I didn't . However, my DS will expire in the next coming months.
  7. I don't know if anyone in a similar situation. I lost about 11 months beacuse of issues with I-613/I-612. USCIS received my case in Feb. 2021, forward it to DOS in Nov. 2021. To my knowledge, forwarding a case to DOS means sending I-613/I-612. However, the I-613/I-612 did not appear on the DOS website until Oct. 2022.(almost a year after). Do you guys think this delay was from USCIS or DOS?
  8. 16 months at the DOS and more than two years for the whole process.
  9. I have never hated the word (Pending) so much in my life until the this nightmare waiver case. I have been looking at this word every day for the last two years and just started my third one.
  10. Unfortunately, nothing to update. Case transferred to DOS Nov. 2021. All documents recived by DOS Sept. 2022. It's been pending since then. I don't know when this horrible nightmare will be over.
  11. I am in the same situation. My case was sent to the DOS on Nov. 2021, However, DOS acknowledged the recipt of I612/I613 10 months later (Sept. 2022). I emailed the DOS to see if they can consider the 10 months period as part of the processing time. Their answer was that the each case is considered ready for deliberation and in the queue once they have everything on file. To sum it up, the 10 months were time wasted that we can not take back unfortunately. I am still no sure whether the delay was from USCIS side (delaying sending I613/I612to DOS on time) or from DOS side (updating their website)
  12. I think there should be a quick intial review stage for each case at the DOS before going to long deliberation and administrative processing. This would save people a lot of time, pain and suffering waiting without knowing that their cases at least meet or satisfy the basic requirements set by DOS.
  13. Is there a way to know the stats of each category of J1 waiver ( the number of cases processed annually according to the waiver basis)?
  14. Good point! My question is why only hardship cases are being delayed? This category should be given similar to priority like any other categories as it's part of five bases that constitute J-1 waiver if it's established.
  15. Applying for J1 waiver nowadays is like gambling. Basically, just be prepare to lose everything at the end. It is insane to think about giving all the suffering that families are going through.
  16. It makes me feel that such delays are almost intentional to make people give up. I just started my third year of waiting on this nightmare to be over .
  17. Another day, week, month goes by waiting as we are holding on the hope of a better tomorrow despite all the suffering.
  18. With the processing time taking over 3 years between USCIS and DOS. In my opinion it's a clear and indirect message to everyone who wants to apply for 2 years waiver, the message is that do not to apply because the suffering and the hardship will continue either way, here in the states or country of origin. I applied to USCIS back in Feb. 2021, next month will be the beginning of my third year in this painful process. I'm still struggling to find explanation this situation.
  19. I can tell you that I am from Middle East. I don't know if the the country of origin make a difference in this situation. I could be wrong..
  20. Yup, my life has been pending since I filed my waiver application to the USCIS case exactly two years ago. Apparently, it takes more more than two years after all said and done. It has tested every bit of my patience and will. However, I am still staying hopeful.
  21. Dose anyone knows of a case where USCIS delayed sending I-613/I-612 for 11 months after transferring the waiver case to DOS?
