  1. I think we will be filing in March, after 6 months of waiting. I’m very scared to do it because every bit of experience I have so far has been negative. We’ve had problems at every step of the process. I’m very worried we’ll be denied if we “push” them. I know many people have a different experience but I have absolutely no trust in the system anymore.
  2. I feel your pain. We were completely shocked, too. We’ve been married for 10 years now and it looks like we’re going to spend our 10th anniversary apart. We have small kids who cry after their father almost every day. The system is an overall travesty of justice.
  3. I’ve read somewhere that final consulate decisions were made about a month after the last update (it was people sharing their experiences). Is this everyone’s experience here? We’ve been put on ds5535 last September with the most recent update in December. I had hoped that maybe January would bring some good news but nothing happened. Now I don’t know if we should just assume that we’re in for another long haul before anything moves.
  4. We have emailed the ds-5535 and received an automatic reply. The reply didn’t specifically mention “we are in receipt” or something similar. Is the automatic reply the official confirmation or should something else be coming from them?
  5. The email states that they want the answers in the body of the email and no attachments will be opened. Did you get your case approved? I'm worried that we ended up in a black hole without an exit out of it.
  6. Thank you for that. I wouldn't have thought about it.
  7. My husband attended his interview in Juarez today and was placed in the dreaded administrative processing. He's asked to fill out the DS-5535 form but we didn't get the actual form - just questions in an email. He has had an unlawful presence (waived) in the United States for 22 years and has never traveled outside of the country. What type of travel does he need to report on the DS-5535? Only international travel, which would be none? Or does he have to state all travel within the United States, too? For example: we went to Florida 9 years ago. Does that have to be reported?
