  1. here in Michigan you cant change the name on the marriage certificate. You need to go to the secretary of state and fill papers also for SS even though you may not have applied for AOS. We want to get that changed and send that certified paperwork in with the AOS paperwork.

    HOW?

    On your marriage license.

  2. all I know is the embassy drills for false applications and finances. If for some reason her last name came up as married this would be the response. You should call and see what information you can. In the Phil the names, last and mothers maiden names create a real mess in the embassy's research. The more you find out the better. I do not think her reply of no prior boyfriends would be a red flag unless that see a marriage that she denied, make the call and check it out. Yhe US Embast here is totally arrogant and you cant trust anything on either side.

  3. My wifes interview was about 5 minutes, the lady didn't want me in the room with her at all. Good that I went as they denied her and I had to bring up banking and assets that were completely overlooked.

yes I guess to err on the safe side I will just stay out of it. Do you know how long the actual interview is? I was told 15 min by one person and over an hour by another
  4. any immunizations not completed for the US needs to be completed and entered into the system, you can have this done at any county health clinic for cheaper than a doctors office. I was also informed while at the health clinic that if we can get a copy of the previous immunizations they will enter it into the system at no charge. They said a faxed copy is fine if it has the number of the originating country will be approved.

    Hope this helps some.

PS the immunization and medical records are supposed to be forwarded to the USCIS office but many times they are lost, it would not hurt to ask for that to be faxed or emailed also... I just try to cover the bases so I dont have a problem.

  5. 17,800 x 125% x 3 years - income is the difference needed in sell-able assets. in my case was 6000.00 x 3 years = 18,000 easily obtainable from bank statements, stock account or business... problem is US embassy does not look at assets as obtainable income. Surely I could sell my 2 BMWs on top of the financials and easily accommodate this, have to push this issue which they are more than willing to push into AR prison than to deal with the matter at hand. I am going to call the DOS and bring this issue up which is not fair to the people involved in this process.

  6. In all the emotional sleepless madness we forgot to take the Immigration documents out of the suitcase and realized it as it slipped beyond the black rubber straps of the conveyor not to be seen until arrival. Bhing worried the whole brutal trip about it and I reassured her that she should be worried :P

Upon arrival I explained to an officer that she needed her papers before she could go to immigration and he told us to explain it to the man at entry, he said go to US citizen check in and they should help us. We did, they told Bhing had to wait tin the back as I went to find the luggage with the documents. While waiting I hear this sweet voice next to me saying theres the suitcase with the papers...they let her out to help look for it with me... how she got out I wondered. Anyways she got paperwork and disappeared into the abyss again as I searched for the rest of the luggage.

About 10 minutes later again I hear her voice saying that she thinks she sees the rest of the luggage, I asked how she got out, she told me she is done... what? She said they entered stuff into the computer and welcomed her to America... wow.

Luggage in hand we proceed to the declaration point and inspection of luggage, handed the slips to a lady who told us to proceed. There was a area that said customs inspection and outbound flights.... I saw a sign that said enter Detroit and we opted to go through them doors...went through and was in general population, surely this is wrong, no? Went to the 2nd level and out to my car, loaded up and home we are.

I knew we didn't have anything to worry about even though the paperwork was not handy but this was way too easy. WAY too easy, I don't know what and where I messed up but it slid through so easily and without incident I still have a hard time believing how this day has transpired.

Watching her reactions after we arrived at home (home now not just my house) Bhing couldn't sleep more than 30 minutes while I took full advantage and got 6 hours sleep. I can not imagine all the things that must be going through her head right now. I couldn't imagine what it is like to be her at this time. All I can promise her is that I will be here and help her with anything and everything that I can.

Tomorrow for me will bring the regular manatony of the stock markets and printing after that closes in an effort to perpetuate my income-less future, Bhing has already made the daily things I depend on being handy disappear into a pre organization effort. She says my house is so dirty...LMAO If she only saw it 4 weeks ago before me and my son spent weeks cleaning and organizing.

I think in her mind is a thousand things going on but as I write this and think, I realize that my mind is thinking thousands of things also. In the pre-departure restaurant meal with her family and the ensuing interrogation I had just realized why I have waited and gone through this Visa Journey for Bhing, I have treated many women well but have not ever had the chance to treat a good woman well. This will be the beginning of a new life for both of us, and I have promised to do as I will never change who I am, be me and trust and honor again a woman who has had me wait and stand the test of time. I believe in destiny and I am living it now.

  7. We both went to the interview last Wednesday 18th and as I guessed it, arrogant americans working there. At the first interview I am sure the lady decided to deny the visa within the first minute as she turned the light on for the next person almost immediately after Bing entered the room. I do not have enough income.

Sure enough at window 36 another lady called our number and announced that we were denied the visa because Bing would become a public charge... I stepped up to the plate and told her of assets and house etc, she announced the papers were irrelevant without a deed, etc etc etc. I insisted she forward the information to someone in a higher position and she did.

Window 33 a man called Bings name and we both went there. I again explained that I have assets in excess of whats needed, he asked if anyone asked to review the documents and I told him None asked. I produced more documents, bank deposits, house statements etc and he added things up and was still in question until he asked a knowledgeable Filipino man that clearly said that I have adequate funds and to reverse the denial in the computer.

The funny thing about it all is since it was decided at the first interview a denial, the rest of the paperwork was not looked at closely. I suppose it would have been reviewed when the visa denial was contested sometime in the future but since it was contested the same day it was not. The I-134 was not signed, employer letter not reviewed, paperwork not looked into. Only thing reviewed during the day after the first interview was bank statements and house statement and tax bill.... The man looked like he was embarrassed that he was unsure how to proceed with a case such as ours.

Low income and no co-sponsor... no biggie. I knew this would be an issue that Bing alone would not know how to contest and planned to fly for the interview. 3 weeks notice made it hard to get things in order but I did. Too bad none of it was looked at LOL

All that is needed is the stamp indicating PDOS was completed (not open today) and we are good to go back to the US on Thursday... What a hectic few weeks we have both been through. I am glad this is almost completed after all this time.

    :dance::dance::dance:

  8. Man this happened quick, was figuring late July - August but June 18!!! Wow, could barely find a flight that wasn't booked and was freaking out. Found that then the great paperwork race for the I-134, easy to do but not when self employed without 125% income. Assets galore and stuff to sell so we are at the mercy of the consulate. My Bhing hasn't slept good in 2 weeks poor thing. Hotels booked, cell phone with new sim, the knowledge of the right arrival lane in manila, knowing where she will meet me in the garage, I learned so much the first visit man. I dread the flight but shortly 1 leg of the trip will be over and hopefully with visa in hand she will be coming back on the 26th, if not I will have to perform magic!

Thanks for everyone posts and knowledge here, if not for this I would most likely still be lost!

  9. Next the papers will be sent to the US embassy which will take about a week. Start calling the consulate with the new case number on the 2nd week since the NOA2 and it should be processed as you call and they type the number in, you can schedule your interview date at the=at time. In the Manila Embassy our interview was set just a few weeks away so me and Bhing have been scrambling. Gets quite expensive after that phone call especially to arrange flights so soon  I am gambling that we will have Visa in time to leave Manila on the 26th.

wow..My hubby sent me email while we are talking online this morning..and wow...we got our Hard Copy of NOA2 ..yehey....:dance::dance: ...what's next???
  10. This is just my opinion but I think when it is touched it means that they are looking at something they find questionable or maybe a lack of some information. Definitely have the sponsor call the embassy right away to find out what is going on, you should all ready be here!

  11. You have to call the embassy for an appointment!~ They are no longer assigned, many people do not know this!

That won't work for everyone. We've had a case number for over 5 weeks and nothing happens. Your link has the following info around the link to enter the case number:

"If you already have a visa petition filed for you and your priority date is current or about to become current, you may check below for your appointment date. Just type your case number on the textbox and click the “Check Appointment” button.

If you have an interview date, but no time is indicated on your appointment letter, you should plan to appear at the Embassy at 7:30 a.m. on the date of your appointment. The database or listing is updated in the middle of each month. If you do not see an appointment date, check back after one month. Usually, this site carries appointment dates three (3) months out."

I don't know where or when we get the priority date. Does this mean we have to wait at least another 3 months since we haven't been notified?

  12. this is madness, sounds like there are a lot of bitter people here. When I found my baby I asked her right off the bat if she would agree to a prenup, she said no problem. I was raped in my first divorce, over 270K! The only reason she has my son is the monthly meal ticket, so for those of you that say to get him back in court you can go just F yourselves. America...the home of the divorce award... once that reward is gone the "try to make it work" thing comes into play instead of "Ill see you balls on a plate in court", along with your kids house cars and business.

This girl came here, gave her belongings and life away to trust someone in another country...it didnt work thats it. Through the visa process he has agreed to support her from becoming a public charge which he will. He should also just by his own dignity supply her with about 5k for flights to her home and living expense til she gets back and finds a place to live, her choice where she wants to go.

If she wants to stay she can apply representing herself for citizenship because she is already here. She wont need an attourney to do so as long as she can read and understand what and where in the process she is.

  13. What was approved and where?

Approved but still no text or delivery. I hate having our lives in someone else's hands. They dont really seem to care if we're together or not and why should they i guess.

Sorry to vent but i just felt like typing it out. I feel numb.

Congats to everyone that gets theirs so fast and I'm sorry for everyone else that has waited even longer.

    "this too shall pass"

    *looks down*

    *walks away*

  14. Even then you still can get Traveler's Diarrhea like I did...finally over that over a week and a half of hell.

I had that 4 1/2 weeks here, probably from ice tea and ice cubes...shellfish and other things. I'm all tough and exempt from those ailments (LOL). Now I read up on local herbs and such and already had Bhing acquire them and asked her to prepare some before I arrive. Tawa Tawa and cats claw are 2 that cure travelers diarrhea.

  15. 1- Is there a web site that I can visit to inform me what I can and cannot take on the plane such as personal items like shampoo, vitamins, electronics, etc? http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm

2- How many pesos should I have on me when I land in Manila because I have heard that I will have to pay a fee to leave the airport there and pay a fee when I land in the airport in Davao as well? you can pay in USD dollars

3- I was told that the water is treated in Davao and it is very safe but i will still drink bottled water but is there any precautions I need to take when I shower in the water? dont drink the shower water

4- what food should i stay away from and what foods are safe to eat? no salads no shellfish

5- has anyone had a problem as an American in the Manila airport? main check in area go to the far right lane, the other lanes are for locals only, dont mess up here or you'll have to wait an additional 45-60 minutes

6- since my mobile phone wont work in the Philippines is there a prepaid phone that can be purchased to take with me? get a cell off ebay with their bandwidths, i dont remember right now but I have bought 2 so far for 40 bux delivered. have your girl send yoy a pre-paid and programed with her cell number sims card you can put in ahead of time, that way you can text her when you arrive. She will be in the parking garage straight infront of the exit of the airport, acrodd the street...look at the sighn that says last name a-?lower level and the other letters upper level. There will be thousands of people waiting there so wear something that will catch her eye cause you will not find her.

Bring something to help you sleep through the flight, it's brutal man!

  16. good to go anytime as long as it is not a major Holiday, when I returned on Thanksgiving day they were bored and pulled everything neatly folded by my fiance and then 4 of them were enjoying looking through our pictures (over 200 of them!). Thats personal, they really made a mess because they were bored or whatever AND I am a USC!!! Have everything in order is all I can recommend.

  17. I was happily divorced 2 time and in between and after I have been with women that are controlling and or just freak out and argue for no apparent reason. In researching these different women I came to the conclusion that every single one of them has mental health issues of some kind or other. They are good at controlling it until a serious commitment is carried through such as marriage or living with me. I am a mental case magnet here in the US and searched elsewhere to find what I would consider a "normal" woman.
