Hi everyone, I’m after some advice before going down the marriage visa process. If anyone is willing to share their experience or just happy to answer questions I have that would be a huge help. My situation is as below. I have been with my partner for a handful of years now. She is American and I’m from a Southern Hemisphere country with a good relationship with the US. I had a 2.5 week overstay a few years ago at the end of my J1 visa but have been back a handful of times now on the B1/B2. Only once getting questioned on entry but letting me go through. We are planning to get engaged soon and married in 2024 and then apply for a marriage visa. We are both living in my home country until we get married. I understand it may take 1.5 - 2 years from the time we get married but we are ok with that. What course of action is best to take going forward? What have peoples experiences been with the process, the interview process and things to look out for? Appreciate any help!
