  1. You don’t have to worry, the consulate still working on your case. Approved means your visa application is approved after interview has been conducted. So you have to wait until it shows Issued, that’s when it will be placed in your passport and you will get it before 5 days after it shows issued. My ceac went from application received to approved to issued before I got my passport after successful interview at the embassy. Ignore the instructions of if you don’t receive it within 10 business day if it has not changed to Issued. The consulate will not even respond.
  2. It is wrong for you to put 0 here, the income you make is it not for you to support yourself?? So put that. like seriously?? You support yourself with 0$ from your income ?
  3. From your story, you said you included prove of airline ticket, passport stamps and photos of your trip when you visited your fiancé on October 20. Is that this year or 2020 ? Coz you only need to meet atleast one time in the last two years, the requirement doesn’t say you should file I-129f two years after you meet. You need to clarify this. If you meet her in person this October and you file after that then you’re good to go you did well and you don’t need any waiver.
  4. You don’t have to be worried, it could be something you have to work on before you leave for US which will not stop your interview.
  5. This is correct, interview slots are always first come first served procedures. I will go ahead pay fees and try looking to schedule interview coz if slots are available they get filled up straight many people are waiting and if you don’t pay fees and create CGI account you can’t be part of the people who will pick interview date before it is filled up but if beneficiary wish to still keep waiting until instructions comes then he/she can go ahead too just that maybe you will still be waiting when others already picked up interview dates. Some people will receive instructions close to their interview too so the choice is yours.
  6. Don’t wait to be notified just click yes and proceed so that you can’t get closer interview date as soon as available, you’re lucky your case is extended wish you the best
  7. Why will you have approval since June and nvc sent your case to your home country embassy and you don’t do nothing ? Not even come here to ask about next step ? Looks like you don’t really want it. Approved cases always have validity of four months from the date it is approved, there’s backlog in most embassies so the case will be sent to the embassy before the four months validity expires, the logic is, make sure you pick an interview date before your approved case expire which is four months so as long as you have a date before your four months validity expire then you are good to go even if the date you get is outside the four month validity and that’s why you need to go ahead and pay your MRV and create cgi account to start looking for date as soon as they sent your case to the embassy and not wait for any instructions. From the look of things from your case I will advise you to call the embassy as soon as possible and ask if they still have your case and what you can do at this point
  8. Like I said, do not wait for any notice as long as it shows ready on the ceac page. Pay fees and secure interview date before your approval expire so that it can be extended when you go for interview at the embassy
  9. Go ahead and pay your visa application fee, start looking for interview date before your 4 month validity expire on your approved petition and fill out the ds-160 then gather your documents and start preparing for your interview. Do not wait for any instructions to do all that coz if your approval expire before you book interview appointment then it cannot be extended. Do not wait.
  10. Your approved petition will be sent to NVC immediately and when it is received you will be notified by NVC that they received your petition from USCIS that it will be entered in their system data. And will now be with them until the embassy at your beneficiary country of residence is ready for visa processing so that is when it will be sent to the embassy and I don’t think it will be up to 5 months because the validity of the approval is just four months but can be extended by the consular at the interview. After you receive correspondent from NVC you will be given a case number then you can go online at ceac.state.gov to check your case status with your case number. If it shows still at NVC then it has not been forwarded to the consulate, you can’t do nothing. If it is INTRANSIT you can go ahead and pay your visa fees( your fiancé will pay that in his/her home country or the country where the visa interview will take place ) and create CGI account and start looking out for interview date coz dates gets filled up in no time and your case will change from INTRANSIT to READY in just couple of days then you can attend your interview by then.
  11. Hi, did you get your police character certificate done already? And if yes did it come with fingerprints ? The one we did does not come with fingerprints and I was told that is the new one, is this something to worry about?
  12. Oh wow, pls do you have an idea if anyone went for visa interview recently with the new police character with no fingerprints attached and was rejected at the embassy?
  13. Yes it came from the right source in Lagos but it doesn’t have fingerprints attached to it
  14. Pls anyone who submitted or used the new Nigeria police character at the US embassy Lagos recently should kindly help, is the new police character they issue now acceptable at the embassy in Lagos ? Since it doesn’t come with attached fingerprints anymore like the old one. They only gave me the certificate and no fingerprints attached. Am I good to go ?
  15. Hi, I have two last name on my DS-160 for my mother and I separated the two names with a comma. On the ds-160 I have her maiden name and my father’s last name but on our petition I have only her maiden name as her last name for parent 2 information because she still use both last names on different documents. So pls is this something to worry about for the interview or my mother’s information does not play a role ?
  16. Why did you cancel your appointment for august when you received instructions on 2nd of august, you just lost your chances of getting earlier interview date. You just have to keep waiting and checking whenever they release new dates then you will reschedule but I doubt if you can get a date for this year anymore.
  17. Yes the errors are on the K1 form I-129f we submitted at the beginning. We did not fill out any other form for the correction we only email NVC about and asked for it to be corrected.
  18. Thanks for your response, which paperwork could be helpful at the interview? We only have the email inquiry we sent to NVC for them to correct the errors.
  19. Hi Our k1 petition is awaiting interview at the embassy and we just realized that my fiancé make two errors. One on my mom’s surname, she used my mom parent name instead of using my own father’s name as the surname and she also made an error on only the year I started working on my employment history information part but she got the month and day right. We have already contacted NVC for the corrections but we have not heard anything ever since. Pls what can be done for us not to throw our chances away because of this mistakes. NOTE: on our da-160, we included both my mom’s parents name which is what my fiancé wrote on the petition then we added a comma and also wrote my father’s family name which is my surname, so we have the two names on the same line for my mom’s surname. Pls, I will appreciate any advice on how this should be sorted out before my interview date. Thanks.
