  1. We just got an email to say my embassy appointment is mid-May. Only got DQ’d 3 weeks ago so very surprised it’s been this quick.
  2. That’s good news! I hope you managed to get the passport back with no issues
  3. Hi everyone. Just wondered if anyone had any issues getting a marriage certificate? We got married in the US and have ordered one recently and been given an estimated arrival date of the middle of next month. Really frustrating as it’s the last thing we’re waiting on before submitting our documents to await the interview. Very annoyed we didn’t order it sooner, but for some reason in my head I thought it was something we would have got in the post after getting married, and my husband just had it somewhere around the house.
  4. Thank you! I just had the email about payment today and have paid so I’m hoping it won’t take too long (wishful thinking I know) so we can submit everything to NVC. I hope everyone is doing well and the process is all going smoothly 😊
  5. Just out of curiosity, those of you in the UK how long did your police certificate take to come through? I’ve applied for mine this week and am hoping it doesn’t take ages haha. We have decided to change our timeline and not wait until August like our original plan as I want to move as soon as possible.
  6. I did hear about the extension letters but with the amount of notice I’d have to give at work it likely wouldn’t make a massive difference in the timeline of me relocating. As much as I’d love to move straight away, when I we looked into it properly it made more sense to do it this way.
  7. Thanks, I wasn’t sure about the police report which is why I haven’t sorted that out yet.
  8. No I mean once the CR1 expires and you have to apply to adjust. I’m trying to think long term, and don’t want to be in a situation where I can’t get back to my family if needed. Yes, I did read it was the date from the medical, so we are taking that into consideration.
  9. A year after the USCIS approval. We’re trying to time it right because of the 6 month expiry and because I wanted to get the IR1 instead of the CR1 (don’t like the idea of having to do all that paperwork and not be able to leave if there is an emergency). My job has a really long notice period so I’d need to move in August anyway.
  10. Thank you! We only got approved by USCIS in August and will be sending off the paperwork and paying the fees in January (that’s the plan anyway) so I think we should be fine. I plan to move there pretty much a year after getting approved.
  11. We’re waiting until early next year before sending off the documents and whatnot for the embassy interview. We decided it made more financial sense to wait until after our 2 year wedding anniversary (as painful as that is) so need to time it right. Although we’ve gone backwards and forwards on that a few times in the last month or so.
  12. That’s great, congratulations! Ours came a couple of days before our first anniversary. Is anyone planning to drag out the process so you get to the US after your 2nd anniversary for the IR1 rather than the CR1? We’re both tempted because it sounds more convenient but we’re not sure.
  13. We were approved on the 15th and we got our welcome email from NVC on the 19th.
  14. Congratulations! I’m glad there’s been a fair few approvals this week!
  15. Oh no! Hopefully that means you’ll see an approval soon after sending off the evidence 🤞
