  1. They stopped stamping all passports as of this past November I believe, they're going digital.
  2. I'm trying to figure out if my parents who I list as dependents (they do not live with me) need to fill out i-864a or not, the instruction is a bit confusing to me, I'm not planning to use my parents income and my income alone is comfortably above any limit. is filling out the i-864A only required if their income is included? Thanks
  3. i've seen 3 months and change just in the past month, i have a friend who was DQ in late oct and got his interview last week.
  4. it sounds like you guys provided sufficient evidence, I hope with the added photos and money transfer receipts it will be enough. Wish you good luck.
  5. I think that's all good additional evidence, you can also consider others if possible such as your wife being the beneficiary in retirement accounts or life insurance or hotel confirmations you had previously with your spouse. Do you mind sharing what you guys initially provided as evidence? was there is any challenge or issue with the initial marriage that prompted them to request the first marriage certificate? I find it odd to want to see the first marriage certificate is there is a final divorce decree.
  6. I think they're not satisfied with whatever evidence was provided, they might want to see new evidence, ask the same or new questions to see if the beneficiary is being truthful, I think it's a good thing that you're not there because nothing good comes from having both spouses at the interview.
  7. My spouse visited me after filing the i-130 and she had no issues coming in; but the CBP can question or even stop you from entering, I think it's a small chance though.
  8. I just finished doing my taxes using Turbotax, it's my first time filing by Mail, I have couple follow ups if you don't mind: 1- Do I need to mail 1099-B form for stock gains/losses as well as the w2 for federal and states? 2- Do I need to mail a copy of my federal taxes for the states as well? 3- Is there any form or sheet that I need to exclude for either federal or states?
  9. I did see someone who got rejected for a 2019 tax document.
  10. I know that, but option #2 in the quoted comment implies the person doesn't have either.
  11. By how much do you exceed it? I believe higher limits are coming out in March
  12. That's what i'm thinking to do and see what the state says.
  13. We applied for I-130 through consular processing because she's outside the US so she doesn't have a SSN, obtaining an ITIN isn't feasible. I'm still planning to file as Married filing separately for Federal but i'm not sure if it's an issue if i have to file as single for state taxes.
  14. Hello, I decided to paper file as Married Filing Separately for Federal since my spouse doesn't have a SSN or an ITIN, for some reason the state that I live in (Delaware) requires Taxpayer ID or SSN for both spouses for filing as Separate, would it be okay to file as Married filing Separately for federal and as Single for Delaware, I don't qualify for filing as Head of Household and filing as Single doesn't seem right to me, so i'm kinda in a limbo about this state status. Any insights would be appreciated.
  15. I've been seeing Dec 2021 Approvals, so maybe another 3 to 4 months to get to April 22
  16. IOE just means online filing, they go to different service centers, so it's kinda hard to make any sense out of it.
  17. Do you at least know if the case was sent to NVC/Embassy? if that already happened, then I wouldn't worry about the approval notice.
  18. Thank you so much for your detailed answers, I appreciate it.
  19. One last question, I'm assuming TurboTax does support filling out the forms in the desktop or online then printing to paper file? I just want to make sure that there is no special version for filling out the forms online then print and mail?
