  1. We are Canadian citizens and posses USCIS approved H1B document (I-797 notice). My attorney says we can appear at any port of entry such as airport or road and get the visa issued when departing Canada. My question is - can we immediately return to Canada after getting this visa to make some final moving arrangements? (Such as hiring / loading a uhaul truck) I want to be 100% clear of immediate entry once we drive to the border with a large uhaul truck and a car in tow, because turning back for whatever delay will be a big mess, hence I want to get the visas issued the prior day for example Is it possible ? If so, is it possible either at the airport OR at the road port of entry ? If it’s airport, how do we manage the air ticketing process.. do we book a refundable ticket , clear US immigration and then cancel the ticket and come back ?! what implications does this have when we enter the next time with truck and tow?
  2. My H1B is valid from Oct 1, 2022. As per approval notice, I'm eligible to enter 10 days prior to that date for settlement and preparations. Now my fiancee's American family want to vacation in South Carolina for a week, and they're inviting us to join them. As Canadian citizens, we've travelled countless times across the border to vacation and road trip, so that's not an issue. My question is : Is it alright to enter and exit US in Sept 1st and 2nd week respectively as tourists, and then show up later in Sept 3rd week in the airport seeking an H1B stamp? To be honest I don't see any problems with the above, but just checking with experts here because US CBP officers and USCIS can be weird sometimes.
