  1. See the note below from US Embassy Ghana: If NVC has informed you that your case is documentarily qualified and it is awaiting scheduling of an interview at post, then you must wait for NVC to notify you of an interview date and time at U.S. Embassy Accra. Each month, the consular section provides a total capacity for IV applicants and interview to NVC. NVC will schedule interviews at post and send the visa applicant, the petitioner, and the registered agent/attorney an email noting the date and time. Since March 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically affected the Department of State’s ability to process immigrant visa applications. U.S. Embassy Accra has resumed visa services as expeditiously as possible in a safe manner, however, operational restrictions and staffing shortages over the past years has greatly limited the number of IVs the consular section has been able to process. As a result, there is a large backlog of documentarily qualified IV applications waiting to be scheduled at post Accra. IV applications are scheduled and interviewed according to priority date. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to resolve the IV backlog in a manner that is fair to all applicants and recognizes the hardship that has been placed on all separated families awaiting their turn. https://forms.office.com/pages/responsepage.aspx?id=dFDPZv5a0UimkaErISH0S2vMq7BjMz9HvBd4XC6nX_hUQzg4UERMR1pCWDhZQURLOVUwNVZHMFJZUSQlQCN0PWcu&utm_source=google&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Accra+consular What's the context of priority date here? Is it pertaining to other visa categories or the actual NOA1 date?
  2. Ok. Take my case for example, I received my NOA1 on 12/24/2019 after submitting documents on 12/17/2019. For some strange reason, USCIS approved my case on 11/5/2021 after I got my state senator involved. I have lost precious time there for no reason because they didn't ask for additional documents or evidence. I then paid all fees and submitted civil documents to NVC on 11/9/2021. NVC approved all my documents on 2/15/2022 and I have since been waiting for an interview for my spouse. Given my timeline of events, does this mean that if USCIS approved someone's case faster than mine but started the process later (say 6/2021) comparable to mine and received a faster approval from the NVC, would that person be prioritized for an interview scheduling before me? My case doesn't involve a co-sponsor and I submitted my civil documents and paid fees immediately. Many thanks.
  3. So the priority date for a I130 petition of a US citizen for a spouse is pretty useless based on your comments. If say person A started the process in 2018 and doesn't receive an approval date until 2022 and person B received an approval of her case in 2021 and started in 2020, would NVC prioritize person B for an interview date because their face was approved faster? This doesn't seem fair if this is the case especially if USCIS took a while to approve person A's case without any problems.
  4. Hello, Quick recap, I petitioned for my spouse in Accra, Ghana and received a priority date of 12/26/2019. Case at USCIS was approved around 11/2021 after I reached out to my state senator to help with how long my case took to move forward. NVC Dq'ed my docs/case on 02/2022 and my wife is currently waiting for an interview at the US embassy in Accra. Does any one know how long more my wife and I need to wait for an interview to be scheduled? Unfortunately, my spouse lost her mom suddenly late last year, a few days after Christmas to be more precise and this continues to be traumatic for us, especially my wife as she's living alone. Will the situation help expedite our case at the NVC? Thanks.
