  1. For those who may find this thread in the future: I found an outstanding, free, open-source program called GIMP. I was able to quickly make the 2x2 passport photo with the GIMP program, use the measurement tool inside the program to make sure the facial dimensions would meet the requirements, and duplicated the image enough times so that I had 6 images which were all 2x2. I fit those onto a 4x6 grid and then uploaded the 4x6 to Walgreens. I had the 4x6 printed at Walgreens on glossy photo paper for under $1 and then very carefully and precisely cut one of the 2x2 pictures out of the 4x6 photo. Now let's hope USCIS accepts the image and they don't find something wrong with it.
  2. After the K-1 fiance visa is completed. And after the marriage is completed in the USA. What, if anything, must be done in order to be able to attend a USA college? Thank you,
  3. I tried that tool but it said the photo was rejected because it was not at 1:20 compression ratio. I have no idea what that means. I have a lot of very clear, high quality pictures of the beneficiary. Not blurry at all. Great white background. Everything looks great. I loaded up all of her pictures and I get the same 1:20 compression rejection message.
  4. I have the beneficiary's picture. But now I have to size it down and make sure the eyes are at a certain height and that the head is a certain length. The Walmart passport photo tool only prints on matte paper. The instructions say to print the 2 x 2 picture on glossy paper. I asked CVS, Walgreens, and a private photo store and they all told me they will only do a passport photo if the person is standing in their store. She took a passport style photo at some shop in the Philippines but then she scanned it and its blurry. That won't work either and I have no way to verify if the dimensions are correct. So I had her take a bunch of digital pictures and send them to me in original quality. Now I have those pictures but need to use some kind of tool to ensure that it will pass all the requirements. What do I do?
  5. Not sure what I would need to ask. My charges were possession of controlled substance and unpaid traffic tickets that went to warrant. Not possible to represent any clearer than that.
  6. I'm going to list it. I just hope I don't regret it. Will not be surprised to see a denial or RFE with some kind of statement saying that the documents I supplied are not considered "certified". Or some other kind of government technicality.
  7. Thank you for that. However, the issue is that his arrest was for battery, which of course is something to be concerned about. Possession of controlled substance and unpaid speeding tickets are not. Also, I very seriously doubt he received a letter from the FBI, as I did, that "the fingerprint records have been destroyed in compliance with the state's recommendation, and you may legally deny the arrest occurred." The letter from FBI literally said I can deny the arrest occurred. Also, if he were to do a FBI fingerprint check, his expunged record will very likely show. My FBI fingerprint checks reveal no records. Sealing and expungement are terms that people throw around and think they understand, but the reality is that every state has their own definition of what sealing and expunging means and they can vary dramatically. Anyways, I will reveal my arrests and provide whatever proof of "no record" I can find. There is a small chance that DHS has some kind of super database with all arrest records in history. I doubt it, but it is possible. So I will just go ahead and list everything.
  8. I would like to read that. Do you know the title of the post their story is contained in? Thank you.
  9. The court sent me documentation stating that I can "legally deny the arrest ever happened".
  10. A lot of assumers in here. My goal is only to understand the reality of the situation. This is not easy. Try calling 10 different lawyers and ask them about sealed and expunged records. You will notice the varied responses. So which of the 10 lawyers is correct? That is the problem.
  11. I can tell you haven't been paying attention. The arrests are meaningless. The only issue is understanding government paperwork. I believe your problem may be that English is not your first language. If someone with common sense wrote the instructions, they would clearly indicate in the text that the arrest questions are for the petitioner, instead of simply putting them directly after the beneficiary section and not labeling it as for the petitioner.... which is exactly what they did.
  12. These arrest questions.... they are for the petitioner or the beneficiary? I have a Filipino telling me that those arrest questions are for the beneficiary and not for the United States citizen.
  13. For employment purposes, if you want the job, you can't refuse. But I am asking if you think you must tell the truth if you are the subject of a polygraph exam. The answer is no. Polygraph tests are fake and that is why they are not admissible in court. However, the vast majority of people don't know this and would tell you that you must be honest because the polygraph exam will detect lies.
  14. Do you think you have to tell the truth on polygraph tests? Serious question.
  15. I was also cited for being in a park 5 minutes after closing time about 15 years ago. I went to court to fight it, the officer didn't show up, so the ticket was dropped. Am I also going to have to try and dig that up? And what about a littering ticket I also received nearly 15 years ago? Dig that up to? This is so ridiculous. They should just be concerned with serious or violent offenses.
  16. I do see the option to request a certified search. So I guess I can just do that instead of attempting to obtain a court order to view sealed records? Thank you for your input and time.
  17. Insane that we have to list arrests that are guaranteed to not lead to denial. Especially from 15 to 20 years ago. But I guess we should expect that kind of waste from a government entity.
  18. so I need to go and schedule a FBI fingerprint background check? I don't have the records from my previous checks. I will try to call IdentoGo which is the company that administered my FBI fingerprint check.
  19. Do you recommend me start by calling the records department in the county the arrest occurred? Their website says a court order will be needed to view sealed records, and that not even the person who was arrested can see their sealed records without a court order. Also, 20 years ago I was arrested for unpaid speeding tickets that eventually went to an arrest warrant since I never paid. I was quickly released after paying the unpaid tickets. I suppose I should also list this?
  20. And if I list the arrest I 100% for sure open a can of worms. They will then want satisfactory documentation pertaining to the arrest. Problem is, it is extremely difficult to do so because I can't even find the record after 3 FBI fingerprint background checks.
  21. Attorney told me that Nevada has the best record sealing in the country because the state sends a letter to the FBI to request total destruction of the fingerprints and records. I then later received letter from FBI saying it was "destroyed" at the FBI level. I have been told before that the FBI can see sealed and expunged records. However, I have since taken 3 different fingerprint checks with the FBI and all were completely empty. However, let's say I put the arrest on the I-129F... What if the courts tell me they have no record of the arrest and they tell me they will not write me a certified letter stating there are no records? That is very possible. They may tell me the only thing I can do is conduct a background check on myself at the state level. However, I doubt that will be considered "certified". Then I am in a position where I have mentioned the arrest on the I-129F but not provided the paperwork they want to see regarding the arrest. Then I could be denied for that reason, insufficient certified paperwork pertaining to an admitted arrest.

  23. It definitely feels like they are just trying to get people to incriminate themselves. I mean, if they can see all arrests, why are they asking us to list them? Also, why are they interested in such petty, frivolous and meaningless arrests? They won't deny someone for a simple possession charge, so why make us go through months of extra delays just so we can maybe get access to certified court documents to provide to them?
