  1. quoting Alex Hi Alex. So she ended up having to fly to Atlanta to go to the Colombian Embassy ( the closest one to Arkansas) and renewing her passport before she left. I would suggest that your wife find a Honduran embassy close and start her passport renewal now. It took about 2 weeks to get the new passport sent to her. Hope this helps. Good luck and God bless!
  2. My wife is a permanent resident in the USA now. She's been here for almost 11 years. Her Colombian passport is expired. So she needs to make an appointment at a Colombian embassy to get a new one. All of the different office say that you can make an appointment on their website. But it's actually impossible to do. They have a calendar to click on an open date for an appointment, but every day is grayed out. I've skipped ahead like 4 years and no way to make an appointment. You can't call because no one answers. You can email but get no response. Has anyone had any experience making an appointment? I want to just show up early in the morning with my wife but we would have to travel by air to any of the embassies because of where we live. Any help or advice is appreciated. Thanks!
  3. Hi guys. I used to have a different account MANY years ago when my wife was going through the CR-1 process back in 2011. I remember how much the members on these forums helped us through the process. In fact, we made some life long friends that we met on this very website! But now I need more advice. My wife has her permanent resident greencard in the US. She's been here for almost 11 years. Her Colombian passport is expired but she wants to go see her mom and brothers in Colombia. The closest Colombian embassy to us is in Houston. She would have to fly there. To get a passport. BUT! I saw a comment on a thread here that someone said that because she is a Colombian citizen, she can enter Colombia with an expired passport, but she must get a new passport while in Colombia before she comes back to the USA. Does anyone have any experience with this? Or can someone point me in the right direction? I've tried doing google searches but most info I get is for dual-citizens and she is not. Thanks for the advice, amigos!
