I'm going to apply for citizenship soon and I'm currently in college. I divorced my husband. Should I get my last name changed back to my maiden name? I'm wondering if anyone has the same issue?

I'm going to apply for N-400 in Oct; however, I'd like to get my last name changed. At the same time, I'm going to college right now? Does any one has the same boat and change the name during school will create a big mess?

I have a few questions about apply for citizen, hope you guys can help to make me clear!

I came to US on April 2008 under K1( fiance') visa and I got my 2 years GC on 01/2009. After that, my ex-husband and I got divorce on 01/2010 and I got 10 years GC after filingI-751 waived in 04/2011. Then, I moved out of state and I met a new one, my husband and I've already got married. I don't know if my status can be changed after marrying him or not? How long can I apply for citizen or I have to wait 5 years from the date when I got my conditional GC?

Look at your Green Card. First or second, no difference. In the front it reads: RESIDENT SINCE xx/xx/200x. Add 5 years to that. That's the earliest date you can become a US citizen.

I have read the instruction to apply for citizenship. I don't know how does it apply on my case? Mine was fiance and I filed 129, and 485 to apply for conditional green card, and we got divorced, I filed 751 waiver and I got approved. I don't know does it count from the date I got Conditional GC or Permanent GC?

Just called USCIS couple days ago, they told me that I had already missed the biometric apt and I didn't show up on that day. I have no idea what's going on because I haven't got any notice or apt schedule. They said that they will reschedule my apt in 2 weeks. But it's weird because they didn't say anything or mention anything about my missing biometric apt when I was at the USCIS office to get my the extension stamped on my passport?????

I am not a November filer but my friend filed on Nov 18, got her NOa on the first week in december can't remember the date, Had her bio on Dec 27, yesterday when I checked her case status it should that her card production was ordered. Her case was never touched and she never got an email.

Is there anyone file I-751 waiver and never heard anything about your case in 3 months??? I haven't got anything from the date when I submitted it and no biometric apt...No NOA or receipt ...

Mine was applied at VSC. I had called USCIS multiple times and they kept telling me that they made multiple requests for me. They also gave me case of each of requests. Every time I called them, they told me I have to wait another 30 days and 30 days from the date when I made a request. I'm so confused..It was so funny that the last time I called them, the customer representative told me that "they had made the requests by email already, If the supervisor didn't consider or make decision, so they have no thing to do, It's not their business" ...I have no idea..what am I supposed to do ....

After waiting for six weeks and haven't got any mail from USCIS, I called them (1-800-375-5283) and my biometric appointment arrived in two weeks. I don't know if it was coincidence or my call gave them a poke. But it doesn't hurt to try. Or maybe your local office is just swamp with applicants and they haven't gotten to your case for bio appointment.

I applied my 751 on Nov 19th, and I haven't got any mail from USCIS. I made an info pass and they stamped on my passport ( Extension for a year). However, I took for almost 3 months already, and I still haven't got my biometric apt. Anyone has the same situation? Mine was sent to VSC .....What am i supposed to do right now???/ Give me some advice please!!!

They told me I have to wait 30 days and another 30 days. It has been more than 2 months already. My driver license will be expired in a few days. I sent out I751 papers on DEC 17 to Vermont.But i haven't received any info yet, also the checked hasn't been cashed. I check the delivery status, the package was signed by a person. What should I do now? How to follow up?

Is there anyone make successful walk in to the USCIS office w/t making an info pass?

Mine was applied on Nov 19th and I haven't got any notice letter until I asked for the case # through the phone. They made another request for extension letter twice but i didn't still get it yet. I'm trying to make a walk in Info pass. But the whole point is my driver license will be expired by the time the 2 Year GC due. ANyone in the same situation...Can you give me some advices?

I applied my 751 on Nov 15 and i haven't got any notice letter from uscis. I called many times to request for the case number and they also made a request for mail another extension letter for me couple weeks ago. The officer told me that if i dont get it in 2 weeks, i should call them back. However, It has been 1.5 months from the say I applied. My driver license is almost exprise. What should I do now? I'm so worry that I can't renew my driver license w/t paper work

I'm in the same situation. I mail them on 11 and they got on 15th and process on 19th. I called couple days ago, and that guys let me know my case #. But i haven't got any letter from them at all. I should call them tomorrow

I applied my 751 on Nov 9th and my check was cashed on Nov 15th. I haven't got any notice letter USCIS. What am i supposed to do if I don't get anything from them? Can I call to request an apt or walk in?
