There is a word out that ones from DC metro are screwd for quite some time because of the delay at the biometrics place. Who else is from DC?

NOA1 date: Nov. 8, 10

Bio letter date: Dec. 28, 10

Bio appointment: Jan. 25, 11

50 days for the letter, and another month for the appointment.

So if you're in DC metro area (esp. northern VA), unfortunately we're in this for long.

I guess the back log for the bio in this area is really long.

But we're going to try walk-in next week.

ditto, been 30 days after receiving the NOA, called in a put a service request that we haven't received an appt schedule (was getting worried). Also, checking the status online (or phone) with the receipt number said it was "invalid".

hopefully its just a backlog and guess we'll find out in another 30 days....sigh.

You need the receipt number from bio appointment letter to check your status online.

So you can't check your status until you receive the bio letter.

Did any of you guys go to 8850 Richmond Highway, Alexandria, VA 22309 for AOS?

When I went there for my wife's AOS two years ago, the place was EMPTY.

I really can't believe there's backlog that long right now.

When we moved from CSC jurisdiction to VSC, I thought all the process will be shorter.

K-1 visa in CSC took a lot longer than VSC three years ago.

I couldn't be more wrong. Sigh.

My wife's NOA1 date was 11/8/10 but hadn't received the bio letter for more than 30 days.

So she called USCIS on 12/13/10, made a service request for non-delivery,

and received the letter from USCIS on 12/16/10.

It says...

Our record indicate that your biometrics appointment is pending due to limited capacity at your local Application Support Center (ASC).

We will schedule an appointment for you when a time becomes available at the ASC and mail you an appointment notice.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

We were quite surprised that USCIS send the status letter that fast (less than a week!!),

but disappointed that it will take quite a while to finish this process.

Well... what can we do.

2. #1 for English

3. #2 for filed case

4. #6 for talking to the representative

5. You will receive the same letter as ours within a week or you'll receive the bio letter someday.

you should call them already. I did yesterday and they told me when my bio sched will be and today I got my bio letter.

Sounds like you talk to an immigration officer (the real one!) rather than a customer representative.

How did you do it?

My wife called today but the one on the line told us that she was going to put a request to send another bio letter.

It doesn't seem like she was seeing my wife's info with the receipt number.

We thought this process will be more simple compare to previous ones.

i called USCIS today. Apparently if you don't get your Biometrics appt within 30 days of the date on the NOA receipt, they will issue another appt. for you. Guess our letter must have gotten lost in the mail? Booo... (i keep hoping it will turn up today !)

(I included joint tax forms 1040 that I had sent to the IRS - I wasn't aware or do I still understand what it is they want? )

Since they want official transcripts, I would order tax return transcripts of 2008 and 2009 from IRS.

I assume you just sent the copy of your 1040?

After about two years of calmness the activities pick up again. Our NOA date was 11/1 and there is a receipt number on the NOA. But when I check the status online at the USCIS website, it said the receipt number was invalid. It's been more than two weeks so I thought our case should be in the USCIS system now. Does anyone have the same experience?

You have to wait for the ASC appointment notice to check your status.

It's written at the end of NOA letter.

They say use the application number found at the top of the ASC appointment notice,

so I think the application number will be different from the receipt number.

Waiting is no fun but it seems like this process is moving faster than previous ones.

Count me as eleven, my case was transferred to CSC on 9/30 and hadn't been touched since 10/2 until 1/12.

Make it 12. Touched Jan. 12!

Make it 13... first action since the transfer to CSC in september

count me for no. 15. my case was transferred to CSC last sept. 25 and until now still no updates.....

Make it 16. My wife case was touched on Jan 12.

My wife's EAD and AP were approved on the same day.

She received EAD in 10 days but haven't received AP yet.

It seems like most people receive their AP in less than a week, before receiving EAD.

I wonder if it can take longer than two weeks, and would like to know when I should contact USCIS for not receiving AP.

Same thing happened to us. We had a bunch of touches and then the website status changed to the same as what you have.

Same here, after touches on Friday, Monday and Tuesday...No changes on EAD or AP though, still showing 9/18.

My wife's case says the same thing when I checked... it got transferred to CSC last week but apparently they felt it wasnt clear enough? Is there a specific reason? Does every person who has this status get an interview? Needless to say its kind of annoying- not really looking forward to gathering all the paperwork again or about going to Garden City, Long Island.

Most K-1 are proccessed at the CSC, but I've seen that if something is unclear they send back the case to the local office fo the interview. I guess it's a matter of pure luck.

Hold on a minute. My wife's case was touched on 30 September saying that it was being "transferred to another USCIS office to speed up processing." The hard copy i got in the mail confirmed this was the USCIS office in Laguna Nigel, CA. Six days later on 06 October the AOS was touched again and said it was "transferred and is now pending standard processing at a USCIS office." Wouldn't that USCIS office mentioned in the touch on 06 October just refer to the office in Laguna Nigel? It seems like the time between the original transfer notice and the touch saying its "pending" is just the time it takes for the case to be transferred 2000 miles out to CSC, be officially received, and once again become "pending", just at the CSC instead of the NBC. If it were being transferred back to my local office (New York) I would have been informed of the transfer and given the address to where my case was sent just like I was informed when it was transferred to CSC.

Also, what are the odds that 4 people reading this thread in a matter of hours all had their cases sent from CSC back to their local office when it is supposed to be so rare? As of now theres no reason to believe that our cases were transferred back to the local office until the USCIS explicitly informs us of such. Anyway, congrats on all the EAD/GC approvals and lets hope to see some more soon.

Guys, I don't know what's going on but as far as I read this, the subject case is still pending at CSC which is good. See, you first get an e-mail and hard copy that your case has been sent to CSC and then, when it arrives at CSC (about a week later) you get this message saying it is pending at the local office to which it was transfered to. That is CSC, so no worries. You're still on for faster processing. If your case will again be transfered you'll get another letter informing you about this.
