  1. I totally agree with "tito".

Illegal immigrants take alot from the government so so so much and its not our countries problem to support the whole world.

Alot of people who come to usa they drive mercedes bmws. they are doctors lawyers or business owners and they dont tip when needed, they dont pay full taxes, they dont appreciate this country they complain about america but they are working and surviving here and sending money backhome. What about the American citizens? I'm not fully american but i am american by birth and I thank God all the time I was born here by grace. I will accept all the benefits only if I am giving back to my country.

As far as this marriage its best if the immigrant is sent back to their country its a loss and gain marrying a USA Citizen. Sorry all marriages don't work out and God bless you to help you move on but you can't blame America for your divorce. Other Americans who have married and will marry out of the country we are pushed back into the long waiting successful marriages have happened. I think the other divorced people on here should give us single people a chance to get married overseas before they start "net" searching for spouses. Dammit.

  2. In college, I was told that black people can not, by definition, be racist. So the argument is moot. Of course he's not being racist. He's just being a tard.

LOL. Slavery happened long time ago. The black women now get their nails done, weave, usually have attitudes but I like the ones who are funny as hell and accept me as a sister cuz of north african origin hahah. The white girl thinks she's black i think and obviously doesn't have guts to show her face and state the opinion by mouth so she wrote to a magazine. A black girl could definitely kick her ###. The black guy was being racist with a couple of comments. Color doesn't matter in relationships period. Unless your a nutjob woman converting and changing yourself obsessively to fit into a mans culture and religion  Funny article though.

  3.

Whoever said North African/ Middle Eastern women are jealous of the western women hahaha this is not true 1 bit. That offends me big time that's why im saying something. Men who don't have money or family attributes to marry in his country he goes online to find a wife abroad for a better life and sometimes he will really fall in love and sometimes he will use her. Don't get me wrong all cultures have men and women who search for somebody totally different maybe they want a wife or husband to look a certain way or have a certain way of life so they also look online or abroad. Some people get sick of their own countries and cultures and like to join another I know it happens. But to say we're jealous of western women this is absolutely bizarre. This generation of MENA women in arab countries all have backbones we have a right to choose who we want to marry or talk to. I work in an office And we have employees including myself who help arabic speaking foreigners in USA & Whenever a MENA man comes every once in a while with A western wife no matter what the age young or old. The western woman always shows an attitude or wont even shake my hand after her husband shakes my hand and speaks so respectfully to me asking which country im from, etc... Not to be rude to who posted that but are YOU jealous of MENA women your husband talked to before you? Or he might have mentioned that his country has beautiful women?? You shouldn't bash on other women like that. Jealousy is disgusting not to mention a sin.

  4. I also think home visits are a way of checking that your husband/fiance does not have another wife and kids... especially its not formal marriage between them

Interesting point. I never thought of that one. I mean what if he did have another wife, or even three other wives? It's accepted in Egypt and legal but what would they do, even if the petitioner knew about it and was ok with it? (totally NOT my situation btw. lol. )

If the marriage is recognized in the U.S., then the beneficiary would be ineligible for a visa as polygyny is unlawful in the U.S.

Even if the first marriage (or second or third) wasn't in the US? I know I'm getting technical but this has always made me wonder...if the Egyptian had not married the previous wives at the Ministry of Justice then the marriage(s) are not recognized by the US, which would mean the polygamy factor wouldn't be a factor right? Maybe this is too legal for this board but it fascinates me. The way people who practice polygamy in the US get around it is by not registring the marriage and instead only having a mosque thing instead.

Wasn't there someone with a fiance from Pakistan a year or so ago that found out her fiance was married after the embassy did some checking? How horrible!

Yes Amy there have been more than one case where the Pakistani male had hidden a marriage and children from the USC. Some have been K1s and even a few were K3/CR 1.

 me also i was scared of my algerian spouse if he had a wife or kids in tunisia or morrocco that i didnt know about. Young women in the age 17-20 wheeeww we have to watch out for older men who might have other wives and children and theyre taking us as a mistress or a new wife to leave their old life.:no:

Maybe you can't understand the mentality because its a old fashioned set of thinking. Now days maybe they will accept but sometimes they are not happy. Sometimes they wanted that same typical wife to speak full arabic, not to have so much education, etc...I don't want to offend anyone but this is the true mentality if you ask any mother or father there. Sometimes you will come across one family who only cares for the sons or daughters happiness. I personally I would want my child to marry in Algeria.

I don't think this is limited to Algerian (or MENA) thinking. We've heard many a story right here of how American families sometimes have a hard time accepting the foreign spouse. It's always hoped that they come to love you as they get to know you and see how you treat their child.

    You are so right

  5. I know we've gone over this before but I'm lost as to what the purpose of the home visits are? Seems like it's a normal step these days in cases from Egypt who are in long Administrative Processing cycles. What exactly do these visits prove? Anyone?

My husband had his home visit a few weeks ago. The man asked the surrounding neighbors if they knew he was married "from a foreign one" and if he really lived there.

What does that prove in terms of our marriage? My next door neighbors know nothing of my life, why should his?

And for the ones that actually have their families interviewed normally the question is, how do you feel about the marriage. . . . What does that have to do with anything? So if the family dislikes the new bride the visa is a no-go?

Someone please explain this part of our journey to us because it is making NO sense whatsoever to me. Seems like a flippin' waste of time in terms of what they discover to prove the relationship.

Oh and while I'm at it...what about cases like cheryl who already had a home visit and had ANOTHER one a long time after? What did THAT prove?

Well marrying in egypt or any other foreign country you just have to respect how they do things. In arab customs the immediate family has to approve of the bride usually because of family respect. They want to make sure she will keep respect to the family name thats what our "happy family" motto is. They dont want to accept americans marrying with egyptians they just dont like it same as americans marrying with indians. They like their own culture matched up with another person with same heritage and beliefs. It's not my personal opinion, im just stating the mentality behind it all. Neighbors usually are long line relatives if you are from the village or small city.

Are you sure Sarah? because that s not exactly what i saw. The mom and dad have to. If they dont, drama insues until A they calm down or B the couple breaks up. I do not know exactly where all these villiagers are that you are talking about. Most Algerians I saw were not too upset if their child married outside of the culture. the conflict came into play when it was perhaps determined that this was a real marriage and not getting papers to improve their life... What the heck did they all say about you being christian? How are you christian anyway? Is your mom european or american?

My spouses family is old time friends with my family from my Ima. All my algerian family members in France they are christian and 2 uncles (brothers) are christians in Constantine maybe you know the church there i think you might know where i'm talking about maybe? Both of my parents are algerian and naturalized. They had visa papers soo easy back then my dad came here within 3 months !!!! I didn't want anybody to know we are dating until i was sure i want to marry him so when my MIL heard "his future wife" was from america she thought he had a "typical blonde haired woman" (no offense to any) and she said dont bring her here because i dont accept her as my daughter. His family didn't want any french or american He told her it was me and she was so happy. My father and his mother wanted us to marry from the beginning before we started dating so i guess she didn't care that i was christian. My father is muslim and my mother is christian i get the christianity from her. Maybe you can't understand the mentality because its a old fashioned set of thinking. Now days maybe they will accept but sometimes they are not happy. 6. I dont think they really care if the male egyptian citizen is married to 4 women. They dont care about americans british, etc.. It's horrible they just want to check for any complications egypt might get from USA because of the American citizen.

  8. You know in Gods eyes after marriage its wife first, kids, and then your family. When I was in my village my spouses aunt tryed to teach me how to wash dishes he said no don't tell her how to do this she can do as she like and he said do as you like love its ok. His aunt doesn't like me now from that day and she tryed to do many problems with us. My mom in law she stopped to talk with her own sister because of the problems and lies she wanted to do in our marriage. In my marriage day we are not suppose to be together but he was there in front of 200 people holding my hand. Really proof is more strong than words. Words of love they are in that moment his actions is what speaks loud and they will prove to you what kind of man he is. The problems I struggle with is religion only. I'm christian he is muslim of course. I'm algerian but i lived here in america mostly and some in algeria because my parents didn't want me to carry "modern mentality" as we have in america for virginity, bf's, going out with friends to disco, etc.. I asked my spouse what if i had kids or divorced before would you still be my bf or married with me? He said for love a man can do anything, maybe he can't accept that kid as his own kid but if i know your husband before did bad things to you such as beat you or didn't love you and you are alone like that I will marry with you only if i loved you. Everybodys situation and acceptance varies.

  9. I don't know about morrocco/tunisia or any other mena countries, but I am petitioning for algeria I hope anyone else petitioning for algeria will let me know if you had any news about your petitions or any updates about a k3 or I-130.

My I-130 I confirmed its in the NVC but I'm getting a request for an original marriage certificate to finish processing a k3. I called USCIS today and she said they are giving K3 for us and they need the evidence soon or they will terminate the k3 process? The k3 will go straight from USCIS to Embassy in Algiers. Has any other algerian petitioners had this happen lately?? I've been waiting 7-8 months total.

  10. I believe that even if they married someone for a green card, something can happen after a couple of months since they are together for a long time and they can really start to love and see the sacrifice the other person is making. I'm pretty sure that occurs alot when they go in thinking its a game but it ends up becomming serious. But the using of the green card and having a gf on the side it still does occur. One thing I don't like is when Christian women change to Islam for their husbands b/c of love simply because they like how arab culture is, and want to be apartof it or don't want hardship in the future, etc.. Women should stand up for their rights. No man can use a strong hearted and minded woman.

  11. I've filed for an I -130 and K3 During peaktime of the June-July months. We have the I 130 processing and Just now they started seriously looking or "internally processing" our K3 case when they said we would not be getting the K3. If we already have our I -130 approved why are they now looking and asking for extra evidence for the k3? If we submit this extra evidence they are asking for the K3 how long will we wait for an approval? Does it go straight to my husbands country or will it have to process through the NVC first? I've been advised its only 2 months time and my husband will be here but i dont buy this kind of timeframe 1%. Extremely confused and would love any advice or similar experiences from others. :help::wacko::blink::unsure:

  12. we're both from the same country ethnicity wise but i was born here he was born back home. Most men from my country or other arab countries they play the womens part "emotionally" also. theyre very sensitive men when they wont admit but expect the woman to be romantic and sensitive to their feelings when in a fight. Me living in America i have too much pride being romantic with a man when we fight and just going and comforting him. its bad i know but what can you do.:blush:
