  1. Hello everyone, I came to US on K-1 and got married a week ago. Now we're filing all the forms and there is one question if I worked without work authorization. I did that when I was on ESTA in 2020 for about a month while visiting my at the time girlfriend. Then I got denied admission to entry a second time on ESTA in 2021 and I admited that I worked on ESTA last time. I read here that most of the AOS cases are forgiven if worked without authorization if you're married to USC, so my main question is that could be a different(and a problem) that I worked in the past when I wasn't married to USC but I am now?
  2. I’m waiting for an interview now for K-1 and my fiance last year wasn’t working due to being in college. But this year she’s working and getting payed a good amount. As I understand you correctly, they would look into how much she’s making now and look at her’s projected income? In this case her income would be enough for affidavit of support.
  3. Thank you for all the answers. Saying that I got denied because of Inadequate Documentation shouldn't be a lie, because that's what is on my passport says and if interviewer wil decide to have more information, then I'll expand on that.
  4. Correct. I'm pretty sure I don't need a waiver and as I checked I-601, my mentioned section doesn't fall into categories who need to file it for AOS as well. But AOS is later, now need to focus on K-1 interview.
  5. Hello everyone, Last year in March I wanted to visit my girlfriend at the time but my entry to US was rejected under INA section 217 212(a)(7)(A)(i)(I) which says Inadequate Documentation. However, main reason why they rejected me, because last time on VWP I said that I engaged in unauthorized employment (they kept asking, so I didn't want to lie and get ban of 5 years). Now I am close to K-1 visa interview stage and having some nervous time. So my question is, during the K-1 interview if they ask why I was rejected entry, should I say because of inadequate documentation or that because on my last trip I worked illegaly on ESTA? I know that I can't lie during the interview and be honest, but saying inadequate documentation feels like not being completely honest and saying about working illegaly feels like some kind of red flag and they won't approve me. I would appreciate any help or experience.
