  1. Hi everyone, we finally scheduled our interview at the Dutch embassy! could someone please help me bc we have our interview on the 24th of October (only other available date was 10 October) but our NOA2 expires 4 October, does anyone know if I need to do anything to renew it or if they won’t renew it bc we chose 24-10 instead of 10-10? I am going to bring a new updated letter of intent to marry either way.
  2. Hi everyone, I saw my case status changed today to ready and decided to do the “DHL hack” but on the website it now says “we missed each other” what should I do???
  3. Hi, okay thanks! All we can do is wait and see. We have already prepared all documents we can (that we know we need) so now we just have to wait for the instructions to come. how long does it often take for the embassy to receive it from the nvc and sent you an email/mail?
  4. Thanks! Do you know if the required documents to sent back to the embassy is through e-mail too?
  5. Hi Sarah, thank you for your help. for the Dutch embassy we need to make an appointment through a website and on the embassy page it mentions that you can’t book an appointment until you receive a letter. I think “package 3” also contains a “appointment request page”. So I will be waiting until we receive the package 3 to do the ds-160 since I can’t book it in advance either way. do you think I can still go on vacation? And just submit things while I’m there if we receive anything during that time?
  6. Hi Sarah, I think we will wait until we receive package 3. i go on vacation to visit my fiancé in 3 weeks but I’m worried to receive the package 3 during it. What is best to do? can we still travel to the USA if we submitted the ds-160?
  7. Hi everyone, we just got an email from nvc that it got sent to the embassy. do I apply for the ds-160 already? was “package 3” physical mail or an email and did you have to sent back physical mail or an email with the attached documents? and what were the documents you had to sent? is there also a certain time you need to respond to the package 3? I will be going on vacation in 3 weeks for 2 weeks and am worried I will miss important things. thank you🙂
  8. Can we apply for the ds-160 when we receive the k1 FTP letter or do we have to wait till we get package 3 from embassy?
  9. Yeah it’s mainly for people who have an ESTA so USA “friendly” countries its difficult even for USA “friendly” countries citizens to get a tourism visa while already in process for the k-1. That doesn’t change.
  10. Yeah it’s just to be safe in case they would ask for more. I won’t volunteer All the paper work I have with me to them but just so that my story and everything else is backed up by proof. I hope everything will go smoothly
  11. No, I come from a low fraud country and have a clean record.
  12. Hi everyone, I’m traveling this Saturday to the US on ESTA for 2,5 weeks ish. im bringing in these documents -paystubs -return ticket (me and my fiancé ) -train ticket back to my city -working schedule for the first 2 weeks I’m back - old and recent I-94 -bank account and savings copy -document stating the city I live in -NOA1 and k-1 visa package. is there anything else I could bring? I’m so nervous and worried.
  13. So we also don’t have to let USCIS know that he changed jobs? Just fill in the information that’s true at the moment of filling?
  14. It nowhere says a printed contract is a requirement but since it said any documents that you think could help your case. I thought the contract would be good since normally people are hired for a couple years and especially in the military it’s a stable job. so you think a photocopy of his military ID would be sufficient too? you don’t think it’ll be a problem with him changing jobs during the whole adjustment of status process and getting married thing? since on the I-485 you also need to fill in your current job, won’t it be a problem if he doesn’t have that job anymore when they process? Thank you! so it’s not a problem for him to change branches around our marriage/applying for adjustment of status?
  15. I see you can add an employer verification letter to help our case, how would we do this then? If we apply before he changes branches?
  16. It’s not? I thought you needed to show proof that you can take care of the beneficiary? If you are the petitioning sponsor and on active duty in the U.S. armed forces or U.S. Coast Guard and are sponsoring your spouse or child using 100% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, proof of your active military status. it says this on the USCIS website, that does mean we have to sent his contract up too right? Then they will see his USMC contract only goes until September 2023 if he decides to change branches. I also see that you can sent in an employment verification letter, how would we go about this if we apply before he changes branches?
  17. Well if he enlists in the airforce and we get married while he’s still in the marine corps we would put his contract from the marine corps in the I-864 and they will see that his contract ends soon or has ended when they review it. Will this not cause any questions or RFE’s?
  18. Hello everyone, so my fiancé is in the marine corps and will be at the end of his enlistment in September 2023. We applied for our k-1 visa in may 2022 so we are expecting to receive it before his enlistment ends in September 2023. our question is if it’s smarter for him to renew his contract with the USMC for another 2 years or to go to the airforce in September 2023. Since it might cause difficulties when we get married while he’s in the marine corps and put his contract in I-864 affidavit of support and then while adjustment of status is processing he moves to the airforce. obviously USCIS will also see his contract with USMC would be ending soon if we get married before his switch to the airforce. what is the easiest/smartest thing to do? And how would we need to do it if he moves over to the airforce after we got married and applied for adjustment of status? Do we sent the new contract to USCIS later? Or will we just get an RFE for that? I hope this all makes sense! Thank you for reading and helping us out in advance(:
  19. Hello everyone. I saw you need to bring your medical record to the medical exam but I have deleted everything off of my medical record about a year ago so I don’t have any medical history anymore. Will this be a problem or do they have a way to access deleted records? I went to therapy and wanted to get a fresh start so I got my document removed and everything else, should I still disclose it since there’s no documentation/proof of this?
  20. Oh we have signed everything🤣 I wanted to be sure that they wouldn’t sent it back cuz we forget one
  21. I know it’s not. It isn’t a requirement but I added it for extra proof of bona fide relationship so that they know how we met and a little story about him and I.
  22. Okay thank you. I will leave it as is then. One more question I, the beneficiary signed the additional information/documentation proof too on our I-129f package. My usc fiancé signed the I-129f papers and the rest, I only signed the rest. I knew it wasn’t necessary but I wanted to be sure. Would this be a problem? I suppose not?
  23. Very true😅. Just thought it would make our case stronger but me and my fiancé can’t read I guess cuz we looked over the mistake like 5 times, the whole process is just so nerve wrecking and especially now with everything having a long processing time it’d be 10x worse getting it denied after waiting over a year. But I have my fingers crossed. so you say not to inter file either and just leave my package like that and wait for a approval/RFE/denial?
  24. Those boarding passes only confirmed the November date where we went to the usa and our recent meeting before we sent our file in. sadly it does not refer to our first time meeting in our relationship with the March/may part. But as others said if I get an RFE I have plenty of proof to back up which date is correct and pictures to show. Which I will all be bringing to the interview. My fiancé is on deployment now too, so I know how you feel. Luckily you guys get to be together more often now!! thank you for your advice, I just pray for no denial. But I’ve seen they only really deny it if there’s like a lot missing or really important information missing, else they just normally sent an RFE right? so you don’t think ill be receiving a denial? At most an RFE?
