  1. I'm sending her a care package for our 1 year anniversary - of meeting, but we're not married. The dressing up and dating over video cam is good. The most important thing is just remembering and focusing on talking about the good times, happy memories, and future plans.

that was so sweet to do!! my day is hell... no greetings, no sweet things! DAMN! and am feeling so terribly mad cuz am not expecting that a very important and special day for me is NOTHING for him.. he's such so insensitive to every important ocassions. no cards, not even a thought of sweet greeting as i woke up! SH*T!!!

  2. hello everyone! it's our 1st wedding anniversary today :( and does somebody else experienced this also.. how did u guys managed to make it a special day.. i mean how did u celebrate it apart.. or any suggestion? am here alone in my room, enjoying a bottle of Novelino white wine :D

usually on special occasions me and my husband take the time to get all dressed up, like were going on a date or something with each other and then spend the day talking on the mic & on cameras. we eat together, drink together and try to pretend we are together. sounds kind of ...lame..but it usually goes pretty good for us :)

that was a very nice idea..

  5. hi all!!!

well my husband suggested for me to learn spanish knowing ive been looking for a job for weeks now and most of the listings always states "bi-lingual is a plus preferably spanish"... here i am interested in a job position yet i dont have any experience and cant speak spansih (well not fluently in a way to make a conversation)... so i guess i would enrol myself in a class...

would online class will do? or its better to be in classroom settings... anyone have gone thru this or will going to? let me know... peace and God bless!!!

this is my problem too.. well not becuz am looking for a job, but becuz my asawa is half-spanish and her mom doesn't speak english but only spanish!! :crying: i bought an english-spanish/spanish-english dictionary but i found it so hard to learn just all by my self.. i know it's gonna be easier for me to learn the language when i finally get to be with him and be around his family especially his mom. thanks for your post, hope lots of people will share ideas on how to make the learning easier!

YES  redcoconut is highly recommended, me and my hubby stayed there and really so satisfied.. my cousin stayed at Fridays Beach Resort and said it's a very good hotel too, it's more expensive than the red coconut though.

    Enjoy! go parasailing

  7. Hi there,

I know I am a bit ahead of myself because I filed an I-130 in September, the USCIS confirmed they received the I-130 and my wife and I are still waiting for further instructions.

Can you give me a general idea of the steps following this?

Also in terms of the interview, do I need to attend the interview with my wife in Montreal,Canada? and if possible could you list the paperwork/info that we need to bring along with us for the interview? I am just so clueless and I just don't want to accidently disgard something that ends up being relevent during the interview.

    Thanks!!

Hi! as far as I know and what is it here in my country, it is not necessary that u'll be with ur wife on her interview day though it's going to be a "plus factor" if u will go cuz that's a big proof of ur love and ongoing relationship and support to her. As for the documents, she needs to bring the necessary ones such as the I-864 Affidavit of Support, your W2s and ITR, her birth ceritificate, marriage certificate, divorce papers (if one of you are legally separated), proof of your contious relatioship, photos, and other documents that u think is important to prove that ur marriage/relationship is real.

  8. Well, we have read all those document related preparations. Now, could we hear also about all the other special kind of preparations from those who have had their interviews and also for those who have upcoming interviews?

e.g. 1. did you or will you go to a spa a day before just to relax all your senses and be more emotionally and mentally ready for the interview?

    2. prayed the rosary 10x just to make sure mother mary hears and extends help?

    3. attended prayer warriors rally to have them pray over you and for you?

    4. did you or will you memorize tons of basic infos about your fiance/fiancee (name of first pet, his/her fist crush, favorite subject in high school, favorite music, etc.) just in case they'd be asked during the interview?

    5. did you or will you buy or have a dress made specially for the interview? if so, what style?: casual dress or strictly professional looking?

anything you guys (especially those who have done it already) can share will be of great help to all the future interviewees  so pls share away.

Hi! am going to have my interview on Feb. 14 and so far, the main thing am preparing right now are the documents, but talking about preparation physically, emotionally and mentally am making sure am physically fit to make sure I'll be present on my interview day! Praying to God always to give me healthy body and keep me away from any form of illnesses. Am drinking buko juice during the day and hot milk at night, il go to a spa before my interview day.. am sure it will help to relax my mind and body. Of course like you said, it's important to know the basic things about your fiance/husband.. in my case, I always ask my hubby what is his kuya's name (keep forgetting it!! hehe) mare sure you know his family members (names i mean).. Am making sure also that I know the basic info at the forms we submitted, and keep recalling the first things about our relationships such as first date, first dish, first gifts, and so on.. regarding mode of dressing, it's better to stick to a professional look like one of the member here posted in her interview experience, so to let the consul know that u mean business, as she qouted.. (slack pants and a blouse with collar will do) about praying.. well, pray to God only.. He's the only source of our strength and intelligence. God Bless us all

  9. hey can anyone tell how to download a copy of the appointment letter?

She will take her medical early. Someone said you can download a copy of the letter for this if you have not received your packet. Most of the 3/10 interviews seem to have received their packets now , but she has not.

Please let us know if you know how to do this if you have found the link of if it is really possibel to do this. If not does she call St Lukes and they will take care of it?

We cannot find a place on the consular section to do this.

Only the section for the forms to fill in online.

    thanks Guys

Hi.. here's the link.. all you need to do is to supply your case number and your appointment will appear if your case is already in US Embassy Manila.

    http://203.177.135.10/ivappointment/login.asp  goodluck!

  10. hello vjers,

I would like to ask and clarify what exactly means paying delbros 650 for document verification?

    And what documents are those?

would delbros verify one by one your passport. BC,Baptismal,Cenomar,Police clearance. etc?

theyverify when? after or before interview?

thanks and ihope someone shares info.

It's only for your NSO Documents like BC, MC and CENOMAR. The US Embassy can verify them as soon as they got your documents.. better to pay in advance (like 3-4 weeks before your interview) so not to cause any delay with the release of your visa.

  11. Roserick please don't generalize. Not all government office is corrupt. I'm offended because I used to work in the government also and we were not corrupt. The judge that granted my annulment was not corrupt because my daughter and I have to go through a lot just to get what we have right now.

Ok ok fine.. If you feel that way about it...

    No Pun intended..

What I say is my opinion...

Just like yours by saying its not...

    :ot2:

YOu guys are so very funny!!!

It's not really funny Daddy, it boils blood!!

  12. Today this afternoon, I already paid the 650 fee for documents verification and it's no hassle texting and receiving reply from DELBROS.. the first text came after a few seconds after i sent my text and it says "Delbors has succesfully received the information u sent! we will send u a text confirmation after we verify your payment. Thank you. Delbros Delivers!" and then the 2nd text came after 26minutes acknowledging the deposit I made.. am so happy that today, ONE DOWN!! hehe

but wait, nobody post here that there's a PHP50 service charge in the bank!

  13. Hi Everyone,

I had my interview last Jan. 4, 2008. My fiancé is with me the time I was interviewed. The Consul ask me where i meet my fiancé which I answered, how did we meet and I answer too. If both of us is single which we said yes. His follow-up question is if i had kids which i said yes as it is included at my appointment for the interview. I made it clear that they will not accompany me nor will follow me. My question is did this affect in releasing of my visa. As every thing seems to be okey. After the interview the Consul told me to proceed to window 37. There a staff gave me a paper that said document verification. I don’t have the idea what documents to be verified. He said it will take 2 to 3 weeks to release it. I paid Php 650 for the verification. And Php 165 for the Delbros delivery but until now i have not been notified by the NVC. It is hard on my part contacting the visa call center as my landline is bayantel. I am not a PLDT subscriber. I tried to buy a smart prepaid sim but it did not go thru. I ask our GM at the office if I could use our phone (as we are not allowed to place a personal call) so I could contact them. A visa call center agent said according to their system it will take 6 weeks. If there I couldn’t hear from the USEM I should contact them so they could help me. How long will it take for me to wait for a notice at USEM.

I had this idea that maybe it is my kids surname that affects the releasing of the visa.. My kids surname is different from mine as they uses their father's name although we are not legally married. In their birth certificate their father put the date and place of marriage even though no ceremonies happen. He did this for the kids to use his surname as before the civil code don’t allow to use the father’s name if the parents are not legally married. I bring the original birth certificates of the 2 kids with me should they want a proof, though the Consul did not ask for it and I am willing to explain why did this happen. I gave my CENOMAR that I get from the NSO to prove i was never married.

Anyone had similar problem with mine. What steps did you do. My fiancé was here last Jan. 1 so he could go with my interview. He is about to leave at the 18th and he get me a reservation ticket which we had it open should my visa arrived. We even work on his extention visa waiting for the approval so we could fly back to the US together. But until he leave now notification has not arrive yet. His lawyer in the US was able to talk to one Consul here in Manila but he said the Philippine document that I submitted is still verified. My fiancé already seek the help of their congressman and we are waiting for the reply yet. I feel depressed. I don’t know what to do to prove that I never married. I tried to get true and legal copies of my documents to prove that all the intentions are true. I just pray that there is still hope for me to be with my soon to be husband in the US. :crying::crying::innocent::help:

If your kids will not come with you nor follow you in the near future, I don't think it will be the cause of the delay of your visa. The way i see it, maybe it's because of the documents verification. Like they always say/advise here in visajourney, we must pay the documents verification ahead of time (like 3-4 weeks before the interview date). Maybe you were not informed, or you never read a topic like that here in the forum but there's been a lot of discussions about that already. In my case, My interview will on Feb. 14 and I already paid the PHP650 verification fee at metrobank this afternoon, it's so easy though cuz i got the instruction here in vj also. Don't worry, just hope for good things to come and keep praying.. Hope your visa will be release soon. Goodluck!! :)

  16. Wow! I'm so happy to see my medical and interview schedule online.. It's been how many days that i've been checking it and it's only today it was made available. I know am not the only one who had this silly schedule and its fine, just wanna share the laugh with everybody.. online, my St. Luke's Appointment Date is Thursday Feb 14, 2008 (12AM) and Embassy Appointment Date is Thursday Feb 14, 2008 (6:30AM) this is not new I know! am just so happy to know that I already can print this to use for my early medical on Jan 31-Feb 1

  17. Thanks a lot sis! Well, normally, it takes 2 days. first day - xray, laboratory - urine and blood, vital stats, physical exam and immunization interview. second day - immunization and releasing.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR po!

HI THERE! THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR EXPERIENCE AT THE MEDICAL, i will have my medical on March 6.. i just want to know if its ok ba that my appointment letter is only PRINTED on the internet? I dont have my packet 4 yet but i had checked my case already and saw my appointment. ANd is it ok to go to the medical earlier than the appointment date???

Hope you can help me for this.... And I know GOd is so good all the time... thats why GOD uses YOU for you to shared the good things he had done to both of you..GOD BLESS!

YES, as for other people's experiences and suggestions, it's better to have atleast 2 weeks to a month of medical exam before your date of interview.. good for you that your medical is yet on March and you can already check your appointment online  they will honor that.. its ok. Goodluck to us all! :)

    marie_9,

alright then. call the embassy and ask them if they can deliver your packet to you coz you are the applicant, not your fiance. you may also print the schedule on-line and present it to SLEC and even to the embassy for your interview if you won't be able to receive your packet or appointment letter from them.

and please lang... PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY THE K1 GUIDE posted by Sheriff Uling to avoid these confusions...

actually, i was surprised that there's an argument going on on this post.

    PEACE! SPREAD LOVE!!!

thanks beng, actually its clear to me now. can't believe people are making issues of answering in this forums..

  18. there's only one appointment letter attached in the packet 4 & such appointment letter includes the medical & interview schedule..

this info is clearly stated in sheriff uling's MANILA K1 VISA GUIDE (pinned thread)..there's even a sample of packet 4 in such thread...

honestly, that was only my guide during the entire K1 Visa Application..for new applicants, take time & patiently review sheriff's guide..its a great help..PROVEN!

ok thanks.. but sad to say, my hubby's packet 4 only includes interview schedule, no medical. it will work anyways i hope. salamat

  19. After the frustrating and dissapointed excperience in my early Medical last December 17. It was long quite days still felt depress everytime i was hopefully waiting a rang from SLEC, when i will going back to get my sputum result for 8 weeks im was so quite suffered this situation. For everytime i was talking my husband, everytime i was alone and missing him, God i was totally depress. Suppose, i was in his arms again doing happily and to take good care his everyday. Eventhough that i was accept whatever plans we have for our life God is there to prepared us the best time before we reunite again. Now and then, everytime i was woke up in the morning I felt so excited to see my Cellphone screen from SLEC call to let me know my sputum result day.

Thanks to my Deares husband he was always there to me even he was far at me but he was trying to cheer me up everytime i was in depress, he`s undying love and support to me I always proud him.

Don't be so depressed, be positive that everything will turn out good for you so you can be with your asawa very soon.. hope and pray, and while your waiting, spend your days loving and bonding with your friends and family here that are also important in our lives. :)

Goodluck to you and to us all

  20. my hubby love eating chicken adobo and my mom cooked it good but when he had a taste of chicken adobo in one hotel closed to our house, he started craving for its taste though my mother's cooking is good enough :(, I myself admit that the adobo in that hotel is really yummy.. does anybody know and can share here how to make chicken abodo more masarap?

  21. ok, ok, well enough of those exchanging offensive words, the lesson here is that we must learn how to reply without offending other people.. and stay inline with the question being asked.. I felt there are people here who always want to argue and that's not good.. we're here for information and nothing else. My main concern for refreshing this topic is to know if there's really a separate appointment letter for the medical and for the interview but so much arguing have been going on and yet my question is not answered CLEARLY, thanks for spending time anyway!

  22. Hi beng and carl.. pls make it clear to me what kind of APPOINTMENT LETTER is that, u said its from the USE? is that really an appointment letter for the medical exam? Am asking this because my husband (in US) received the Packet 4 but no medical date and no appointment letter like that for the medical. Am just really confused cuz i always in medical experience posts that the guard will ask for that appointment letter.

Hello Marie_9...that appointment letter is included in ur packet which states the time and date of your medical and interview. You have to present it at the guard when u're ready to have ur medical so make sure to photocopy it.

    ~maria

I didn't get my packet yet but my husband got his already, is our package not the same? cuz he got his but no medical date and no appointment letter. I read in some post that husbands who receives packet first send a copy to their wife in the Phil. since mails here in the Phil is always delayed..

  23. * Arrival = around 1PM at SLEC

    * First Stop = the guard checked my passport, appointment letter (photocopy and original) from USE. he stamped the original and took the photocopy and stapled it to the PDS form. Gave me back the original appointment letter and i kept it. Then, he gave me the PDS form with the photocopy of my appointment letter and instructed me to fill it up inside. LESSON: be nice to Kuya Guard and thank him after. Ready and arrange the ff before you face him: Passport, Original and Photocopy of your Appointment Letter and your Smile.
