  1. Hi, I-485 1. USCIS now recommends sending I-693 form together to reduce delays so you can send now. Recently, my husband and I submitted I-485, I-765, I-131 along with I-693 on June 3rd, 2022. 2. Bring interpreter to the interview so that it will be easy for him to answer whenever there is difficulty. 3. Cannot answer because the basis for TPS application is not mentioned. Please make sure about this with attorney if your dad’s case is different which we might not be aware of. My husband has TPS (TPS was given for my country due to earthquake) and he answered No to this question. Look at the basis of your dad’s TPS application. 4. Since you are preparing the form, fill the preparer’s part. Don’t know if they will contact you or not but even if they will contact you, thats totally fine. 5. Don’t know anything regarding this. I-131 Date of intended departure should be 6 months apart from the date of application. I had put expected length of trip as 25 days. I didn’t write anything on the purpose of trip. I read some people mentioning as- No any plan to travel but just in case of emergency. I wanted to write something like this but my husband didn’t want to write anything so I too kept it blank. If you want to answer, you can find sample answers from google search. Please regularly check USCIS website for changes and updates. Good luck!
  2. No problem 🙂 Yes, thats true, dont worry at all 🙂 I had one dose for varicella vaccine and got the sealed form. For covid you will need all doses. For other incomplete vaccine, doctor will mark on “insufficient time interval” box. Actually, my doctor marked complete for varicella, I had to tell her to please mark in the “insufficient time interval” box, lol
  3. Hi, I submitted I-693 form together with I-485 on June 3rd with the expiration date. USCIS mentions on the instruction that which edition date form can be used so even if the form is expired doesn’t matter. If some officer just randomly sends RFE for the expired form then in that case nobody can’t really do anything, we will have to just send the form again. The form available in USCIS website is the latest form that we can use. For your peace of mind, you can read the instructions and edition date that they mention for the specific form. Don’t worry, you will be fine. Also, Hepatitis B vaccine is now required through 59 years old so if your civil surgeon is unware about the change then you can inform the doctor.
  4. Only thing we can do now is wait for the RFE if they think they would require it, we are really hoping that our explanation letter regarding the clerical error would be sufficient for them. We did try to get corrected marriage certificate but the issuing authority has its stamp changed, municipal ward number changed so my husband thought a lot that USCIS would be more confused if the issuing authority is the same or not and he decided to just send explanation letter for now with our passport copies attached which shows our correct information of citizenship number and place of birth which had been exchanged in our marriage certificate. I really wanted to wait sometime to solve this issue, get a corrected certificate and then file but my husband was too stressed and wanted to submit everything and get done with submitting the file. We will try to get a new corrected marriage certificate but we don’t know what to do exactly because the certificate issuing authority itself has its information changed. Not sure if we can get a new corrected certificate from ministry of home affairs or some other ministry who does provide the certificate rather than from our local issuing authority. We submitted our application few days back in June 3rd.
  5. Thank you so much for the reply! We did try to get corrected marriage certificate but the issuing authority now has its stamp changed, municipal ward number changed so my husband thought a lot that USCIS would be more confused if the issuing authority is the same or not and he decided to just send explanation letter for now with our passport copies attached which shows our correct information of citizenship number and place of birth which had been exchanged in our marriage certificate. We submitted our application few days back in June 3rd.
  6. Thats so nice of you! Yes, many doctors are still unaware, wish doctors were updated all the time, many will get RFE because of this. Not all applicants will search on internet so its not possible for everyone to know about every changes and requirements. Luckily, I got to know. Hope many people will get lucky.
  7. No problem! I don’t know how the civil surgeons get notified about any change that happens but wish all of them would be updated. My doctor was totally unaware on May 23rd when we signed the form, she just got to know until the last time after I told her. If doctors are still unaware then many will get RFE because of this.
  8. Thank you so much for your input! I think we will not have to wait a long time to get the new corrected certificate but the issue we encountered is that the issuing authority now has its stamp changed, municipal ward number changed. I think we need new corrected marriage certificate from the same issuing authority. But now the main issue is, how will USCIS know if we got the corrected certificate from the same authority because now their stamp, ward number are changed. Is the main required thing- the same registration date in the old and new certificate? Could you plese check your old and new certificate and share what things have to be/were consistent/same? Thanks a lot!
  9. Hi, no problem! I will try to attach the link very soon. Till then I would like to let you know that the change is effective from May 21, 2022. Change was made on May 20, 2022 but for those who completed the form on or before May 20, this change will not be applicable. You can update this change. I got to know about this change from a very helpful person. I will make a post too so that others will get to know about the change. https://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/pdf/Vaccine-Requirements-According-to-Applicant-Age-p.pdf
  10. Hi, the doctor is the only person in the office. Today I had an appointment to get a new form to include date for Hepatitis B because I got to know few days back that the requirement was changed for Hepatitis B. It is now required through 59 years old. Even to get today’s appointment, it was difficult lol. Few days back, I sent her an email regarding the change in Hepatitis B requirement and she didn’t reply and then I called her, she insisted that its not required and I kept on telling that there has been a change and she had signed our form after the change without the date for Hepatitis B. She didn’t even look at my email to view the link from CDC and was just trying to convince me the other way and I kept on telling her to look at the CDC link in my email once. She told she will check and call back. She then called back and then appreciated that I informed her. Today when we met, she told me you are so good and while filling the paperwork she made some error again and when I mentioned about that she didn’t talk nicely again lol, but anyways thats fine. We sorted everything for complete pages, Hepatitis B vaccine, varicella vaccine, correction tape issue. I really don’t want RFE so did all this but if in any way RFE comes (due to expired form, lost form, any other such reasons) then that’s fine because at least now these things have been done the correct and proper way.
  11. Hi, as I was unaware on which forum to post, I posted in different forums. Thank you for removing the multiple threads
  12. No, I didnt open the sealed envelope. She gave us a copy so when I came home and looked at the copy, I didn’t see the last page. I mentioned this to my husband and he told that the doctor told him in the office that last page is blank so not required. My husband doesnt know about cases of RFEs and all these things so he just believed the doctor. I didnt know about this in the office, I was still looking at the vaccination page but she was in such a hurry that she already made the envelope. Regarding the correction tape and error in the vaccination page, I wanted to talk about this in the office but the doctor was not willing to listen to me and I couldnt say anything. Even if I had known about the last page, I think she would have just made me quiet the way she made me quiet regarding other things. I thought a lot and finally emailed her but she has not responded yet. I will contact her on Monday.
  13. Yes, I emailed her regarding this concern. Hope she replies soon. She had told that she would go for vacation after few days, just hoping that she replies soon and this doesnt get delayed. My husband already wants to submit everything soon. The doctor was not willing to listen to anything in the last visit. She had done few errors, I pointed that out, she didnt care at the beginning, later on she told me yes you are correct. She talks really nice but while doing the paperwork she behaved so differently. I was the one who searched this doctor, such a weird situation I fell into. Thank you for your reply!
  14. The civil surgeon didn’t include last page 14 of I-693 form (additional information page which was blank) in the sealed envelope? Is this normal to do it this way because the page is blank? Also, the doctor used correction tape to correct errors even though USCIS says do not use correction tape. I took one shot of varicella vaccine few days back and I will submit I-693 form without waiting for the next dose and the doctor marked “X” in “complete series” box but I think the mark should have been on “insufficient time interval” box. I tried to speak but her response for everything was like doesn’t matter and I just became quiet, couldn’t say anything after that. I am worried that I will get RFE. Processing times are already high and I wanted to avoid any possible RFEs and now this happened. Any inputs will be highly appreciated! Thank you so much!
  15. My husband's EB2-NIW I-140 is pending from 7 months. We are going to file I-485 soon. We noticed a mistake in our marriage certificate. We are from Nepal. The certificate is written in both Nepali and English language (in the same certificate). All information is correct in Nepali but our citizenship number and place of birth had been mentioned opposite in the bride and bridegroom section at the bottom of the page. Also, my name has been written as A B (husband's last name) but I have my name as A B in all other official documents. We didn't think this could be an issue until we reached now at the phase of I-485 preparation. One thing that I would like to mention is that, this current marriage certificate has been sent to USCIS before for my change of status from F1 to F2 and F2 was approved without any issue. But this is for adjustment of status and we would like to avoid any possible RFEs. Derivative applicant of NIW can just send marriage certificate without sending other supporting marriage documents but we have that misplaced information in the certificate so wondering what other documents need to be provided. How can we rectify this mistake? Few options that we are thinking: 1. Submit new corrected marriage certificate, current marriage certificate, explanation letter and affidavits? 2. Submit current marriage certificate, explanation letter and affidavits? 3. Just submit the current marriage certificate and affidavits? 4. Who needs to sign the affidavits and important things to consider while making the affidavits? 5. What are the things to be kept in mind while making new corrected marriage certificate? 6. Do we need to send other supporting documents such as joint lease, joint utility bills, etc.? Thank you very much for your time and help!
