  2. According to the new procedure, they have to fill up the I-693 and I-693A is apart of it. Did you have a TB skin test when you had your medical before your Visa Interview? Also do you have a copy of your medical report that the immigration took at the POE? The surgeon told me that they cannot just go by me saying that the report was given. They need proof to sign the form and therefore had to do my HIV blood test again. I also had to take the TB skin test as I only had a chest x-ray and got a TD shot and it all cost us $125 (not bad, coz I actually thought they would be charging us like $300 - $400)

I am also preparing my AOS to fil and thanks God our lawyer will sent it on Monday. My lawyer give us a list of accredited doctors who does medical for Immigration. Since i live in New Rochelle we have here lots of accredited doctors. I brought with me the vaccination report which the SLEC had given me. The doctor gave me TB skin test, HIV blood test and TD shot and we pay $ 183 for all of these. Since i was positive with the TB skin test the doctor require me to have my chest x-ray. I was lucky i already have my medical card i did not pay the x-ray. When i get the result from the radiologist i go back to my doctor and he transferred it to my medical record. He also transfer my medical record from SLEC to the I-693. If anyone wants my doctors services his name is Dr. Bond and his office is in Eastchester. He will recommend if you have a medical card to have your medical done by your doctor also. But maybe you will like it too to be done in his clinic as he gave reasonable prices too. Hope this will info will help ....

  3. Congratulations and have a great wedding. Can I ask if you paid the document verification fee before the interview or after the interview?

    Edp333,

I paid the document verification after my interview. I am not aware that i had to pay it before. The reason why the release of my visa was delayed.

Congras :) way to go ....

    Hello Jim and Heide

How long did it take in your situation to get the visa?

thank you, it takes us 6 weeks as they have to verify some documents that i submit like my birth cert and cenomar.

  7. I had my interview last Jan. 4, 2008. My fiancé is with me the time I was interviewed. The Consul ask me where i meet my fiancé which I answered, how did we meet and I answer too. If both of us is single which we said yes. His follow-up question is if i had kids which i said yes as it is included at my appointment for the interview. I made it clear that they will not accompany me nor will follow me. My question is did this affect in releasing of my visa. As every thing seems to be okey. After the interview the Consul told me to proceed to window 37. There a staff gave me a paper that said document verification. I don’t have the idea what documents to be verified. He said it will take 2 to 3 weeks to release it. I paid Php 650 for the verification. And Php 165 for the Delbros delivery but until now i have not been notified by the NVC. It is hard on my part contacting the visa call center as my landline is bayantel. I am not a PLDT subscriber. I tried to buy a smart prepaid sim but it did not go thru. I ask our GM at the office if I could use our phone (as we are not allowed to place a personal call) so I could contact them. A visa call center agent said according to their system it will take 6 weeks. If there I couldn’t hear from the USEM I should contact them so they could help me. How long will it take for me to wait for a notice at USEM.

I had this idea that maybe it is my kids surname that affects the releasing of the visa.. My kids surname is different from mine as they uses their father's name although we are not legally married. In their birth certificate their father put the date and place of marriage even though no ceremonies happen. He did this for the kids to use his surname as before the civil code don’t allow to use the father’s name if the parents are not legally married. I bring the original birth certificates of the 2 kids with me should they want a proof, though the Consul did not ask for it and I am willing to explain why did this happen. I gave my CENOMAR that I get from the NSO to prove i was never married.

Anyone had similar problem with mine. What steps did you do. My fiancé was here last Jan. 1 so he could go with my interview. He is about to leave at the 18th and he get me a reservation ticket which we had it open should my visa arrived. We even work on his extention visa waiting for the approval so we could fly back to the US together. But until he leave now notification has not arrive yet. His lawyer in the US was able to talk to one Consul here in Manila but he said the Philippine document that I submitted is still verified. My fiancé already seek the help of their congressman and we are waiting for the reply yet. I feel depressed. I don’t know what to do to prove that I never married. I tried to get true and legal copies of my documents to prove that all the intentions are true. I just pray that there is still hope for me to be with my soon to be husband in the US.

Perhaps you can use SkypeOut to give them a call. The quality is not bad and it's cheap too. If you are not familiar with Skype, go to www.skype.com for more information.

Hope you will get your visa soon.

    Good luck!

thank you so much for the info....

  9. Friends,

Wennie and I had out interview on January 8th and she dir great! The CO was friendly and says we passed the interview with no probelms.

However, it has been 10 business days and still no visa. I called the embassy and they said they are checking on additional items and waiting some information from the Philippines. The embassy would not tell me what they were lookin into and told me to call back in 2 weeks if we did not receive anything by then.

He said it could be a max of 6 weeks! Has anyone expirenced this or know someone who has had this issue? Wennie is due to travel in Jan 24, thought that would be pleanty of time but now that date does not look pronising.

Can someome shead some light on this?

    Thanks!

Ur not alone i am into this dilemma too. That is why i post my problem here to seek enlightenment as i am depressed with what happen. My fiance booked already a ticket and was here at my interview. His plan is to take me when he get back to US but to due to the delay of my visa approval he leave the country without me. Lets pray this will be in our hands soon...

If your kids will not come with you nor follow you in the near future, I don't think it will be the cause of the delay of your visa. The way i see it, maybe it's because of the documents verification. Like they always say/advise here in visajourney, we must pay the documents verification ahead of time (like 3-4 weeks before the interview date). Maybe you were not informed, or you never read a topic like that here in the forum but there's been a lot of discussions about that already. In my case, My interview will on Feb. 14 and I already paid the PHP650 verification fee at metrobank this afternoon, it's so easy though cuz i got the instruction here in vj also. Don't worry, just hope for good things to come and keep praying.. Hope your visa will be release soon. Goodluck!! :)

Thank you and Good Luck on your interview...

hi, i myself gone through K1 process and have kids(4 actually) which are K2 derivatives. all my kids used their father's surname, even have a date and place of marriage which didn't occur on their birth certificates. just a fictitious marriage for the purpose of registering the kids. during our interview the CO didn't even asked me about it nor didn't brought up anything about the kids. the kids were present during the interview. i supported my documents with a latest CENOMAR, but we did already had one included when my fiance filed the petition. the interview went fine and got approved right away. but that time we don't have that documents verification yet.

so i guess there's no connection with the kids why you still have the visa yet. did they asked you to pay DELBROS after the interview?

are you not going to bring the kids over here? sounds like a personal question, just curious :)

hope you get your visa soon....GOD BLESS!

    ana

Yeah i paid it already after my interview they said it will just take 2 to 3 weeks and it is 3 weeks now. I already call the Visa call center and talk to the agent Cora, she said it it is 6 weeks according to their system. i had plans to bring my kids to the US but not now as i want to settle first before i get them. thank you.

  12. don't worry, i dont think there was anything wrong with your interview, its just that you paid your document verification fee on the date of interview, which is why it is taking you long to receive your visa. the USEM website has an advisory on this and was discussed extensively in the Philippines subforum. its sad that you failed to read it before your interview.

for a better understanding on what the document verification fee is all about, you might want to read the link below:

i hope you get your visa issued soon!

Hello! Thank you for the reply. I really need someone to talk to that is why i publish my delimma. I really dont know this since have not read in forum that the Embassy has this advisory that you will pay for the document verification before the interview.

  15. Hello Everyone,

Just a thought but who is still waiting on their visa from the USEM that have had their interviews in first two weeks or there after of January?

I am about to explode due to seeing people getting there visa approval and visa's within 2 to 3 days of there interview. I am happy for those who have but at the same time I am about to go crazy wondering why it is taking so long for them to verify documents that were suppose to verify prior to the interview. Just wanted to get a general overview of the situation so that I can pass it on to my congressman so to tell them just how this whole process needs to be looked at and reviewed for it efficiency.

We were interview on January 9th, 2007

    Jim and Mercy

    Jim snd Mercy,

We had our interview last Jan. 4 and afterwhich the consul said we're almost done pls proceed to window 37. We go there, from there the man gave is the paper and said there is still a document to be verified, it will take 2 to 3 weeks for verification. We don't know what document to be verified. We paid at Delbros for the delivery of the visa already and keep on calling them too if the visa is already ready for delivery but up to now we have not heard from the USEM yet. Our lawyer sends her query to the embassy but they said to just wait. In fact, my fiance contacted already the congressman in his area and we're waiting for the reply. It has been 3 weeks now that we didn't hear from them. Don't know what was happening. The worst is my landline here in the Philippines is bayantel and we could not go thru the visa call center. I was able to call the center yesterday when i had a chance to talk to our GM at the office where i am working to let me use the phone(as we were not allowed to use for personal call) so i could contact the call center. When i get to talk to the call center agent named Cora she told me that it will take 6 weeks to verify the documents according to their system. And if after 6 weeks i will not hear from the Embassy, i will call again and let them know. I am just wondering why it took that long to verify the docs.? why not inform the concerned person what specific docs they want so they will be provided? we are in hell thinking about it and it made us desperate.

  16. Thank you for the enlightenment Rebelheart. I and the kids father don't have communication for 15 years now. Don't know his whereabouts and where he is right now. And my kids are already grown-up my eldest will be 19 by May of next year and my youngest would be 17 this January. As i've said my papers are already been forwarded to the US Embassy in Manila.

How your kid's father got his surname registered to your 2 kids is because the illegitimate law doesn't applied at that time. In my case I deliver my baby out of wedlock 2001 and I was under the illegitimate law that I couldn't used my son father's surname unless i could show a marriage certificate to satisfy the legitimation. They let your exBF to used his surname because they don't asked marriage cert.

In order to change your kid's birth certificate, you need to undergo for a change name which is YES you need a lawyer to do that, because you will be infront of the judge for a change name. "OR" you remain your kid's to used their father's surname although ... you need his (kid's real father) letter of letting you to have the full custody of the children and he permitting you to bring the 2 kid's to US to stay for good. Those letter of consents are needed because the DSWD will required you to have it, you could ask them a form in your city hall DSWD chapter to accomplished for that consent and let your exBF to signed it. In able to do this too, you need to accomplished a NSO copy of CENOMAR to satisfy your K1/K2 application because there are children's involve, to show that you we're never been married with the kid's real father proofing that there's no registered marriage of you two at the civil registry.

NSO copy of birth certificates of the children are importantly needed on your K1/K2's application as well as the consent letter of full custody to you so the real father won't come after you in the end. You will showed that letter too, to the immigration officer at the NAIA to permit you to get out of Manila with your children.

If you will take the consent letter instead please be reminded that the children are still using their real father surname. IF EVER your future husband is willing to adopt your children, that's the time you could change the name of the children with no problem at all. Although may I remind you that, in able for your future husband to adopt your children, he needs to have the custody of the children 2 years in the US, it means the children are staying in his house for two years with him and he could file adoption for the 2 children at your county hall.

But to accomplished a new birth certificates of the kid's in their new surname of your US husband (in the future) you need to send off the adoption decree to Manila and filed it at NSO at your city hall where your kid's born, and they will give you a new copy of amended birth certificates of your kid's in their US adoptee father. ( <---- this is we're I am accomplishing right now, an amended birth certificate of my son because he is already been adopted of my US husband. After I got a new copy of BC in new surname, we could apply my son US citizenship by adoption, because no.1 requirements in every application here in the US is Birth Certificate)

    Goodluck!

    Rebelheart

HELLO EVERYONE! I am new to this site. I wanted help. I am a filipina who applies for a K-1 visa. I am single, but had 2 sons, whose surname is not the same as mine. I am not legally married to my kid's father but they got their surname from him. The law before of the civil code states that illigitemate children could not use the father's surname unless the parents are legally married but the father of the kids who register their name put his surname and state in the birth certificate that he submitted to the Civil Registrar the date and place of our marriage even if it did not took place. What will i do to erase the entry. How much will i pay? Do i need to get a lawyer to do this? Will it take long to do that? Do I had to get a certified true copy of their Birth Certificate from the NSO and present it to the embassy even if i will not bring them to the US? If i will be ask what would be my answer. I included their names at my I-129F. Will i had a problem when i appear at my interview with the embassy? Any one who has similar problem with mine can you share your experience. It would be of great help to me as i am confused. My petition is already approved by the USCIS it goes now to the NVC and the NVC write my fiance already that they will be sending my approval to the Manila US Embassy. It is getting nearer already... You cannot erase any entry from NSO registered birth certificates info. Whatever it was been filed its been filed as is. You need a lawyer to change things. COST? expensive of course - lawyer - hearing - processing of papers.

Will it take long to do that? philippine government offices?? of course yes plus bureaucracy.

Do I had to get a certified true copy of their Birth Certificate from the NSO and present it to the embassy even if i will not bring them to the US? NO, IF your not bringing your 2 kids in the US, THEY should not be added as beneficiaries on the I-129F application.

If i will be ask what would be my answer?. THATS gonna be a BIG confusing factor, your not brigning them but they we're included on the I-129F. you will confused the immigration officer.

I included their names at my I-129F. Will i had a problem when i appear at my interview with the embassy?

INCLUDED as BENEFICIARIES?? as K1 & K2's visa application???? if they're included as beneficiaries to like you as K1, then it means your fiance is applying for a K1 and 2 K2's visa's application. SO the children are included for applying a visa, but as you we're saying CORRECT me if i'm wrong you don't have plans to bring the kid's in the US??? then thats gonna be confusing, your fiance will be paying for 3 persons visa not just you only.

best advice .... talk over with your fiance and generalize your real plans for the future before applying for visa's and so by chance that your not using it because of change plans in the end, gonna be a waste of money only.

Thank you for the enlightenment. I and the kids father don't have communication for 15 years now. Don't know his whereabouts and where he is right now. And my kids are already grown-up my eldest will be 19 by May of next year and my youngest would be 17 this January.
