  1. To my VJ family!

Once again I thank Yahweh for everthing. All Praises and Glory to HIM. And to the moderators and members of this column for their continued support. Thank you so much for the unselfish informations. Here is my experience of this morning's AOS interview at the Garden City in New York. We leave the house at 7:00 to avoid the traffic and we reach the place at 7:30. We headed to the guards for security checks, putting our things on the counter, taking belts and jackets, then guard do the frisking like when you check in at the airport. Then another guard lead us to the waiting area (stayed there for 1 hour and 15 mins) we wait for our lawyer (she arrived qtr to 9:00 thanks God) when she saw us told me to go with her to the window and give my appointment letter. We wait for 10 mins. then the officer called our names and lead us again to the waiting area upstairs near the rooms of the Interviewer again we wait for our name to be called while waiting the lawyer told us to review the papers. 1 hr and 15 mins of waiting our names was called by a Black nice and smiling lady greet us good morning and lead us to her room. Told me to sit the side of the table, my husband beside me and the lawyer sits near him. She then ask us to stand and swear to say the truth which we did. Then proceed the questions while our lawyer is handing to her the evidence that we both prepare like credit cards, Telephone Bills, joint bank accounts, health insurance cards, rental contract, electric bills, church envelopes(for our tights), wedding favors, wedding album, pictures when we meet in the Philippines, pictures here in the US(together) certificate from Pre- Canon Seminar, cards that we give to each other, cards that we get from friends, invitation cards, our picture frames at the house, and his TOD which I am the beneficiary.

Here is my bunch of questions:

    1. Your address

    2. Zip code

    3. Ask me questions on the part 3 of the I-184 processing info

    4. If my husband has cellphone number(which I said no)

    5. What is our telephone number (which said but did not give the area code) so she ask it but I could not understand what she is saying as her English is so slang and hard to understand until she said my area code-914 and I confirm yes.

    6. Are you working

    7. Where

    8. What kind of work

    9. When did I get married

    10. Do I have children

    11. How many

    12. How old

    13. Did I bring them here.

    14. When did I arrived here

    15. How many months Ive been here

    16. Where did my husband stay when he visited me in the Philippines

    17. If I am not married in the Philippines and ask swear which I say yes.

    18. How long have I been married?

    For my husband:

    1. If he is working

    2. How much is the yearly salary

    3. Where did he work

    4. Why did he decide to marry me

    5. If not married too

    6. How many children did he have (he said no, this is his first marriage)

    7. What do we have in common.

After the questions she told us to go downstairs and wait for my passport at the waiting room. We waited there for 1 hour and a half, my name was called then the officer told me that my passport was stamp, which is equivalent to a green card, that I would could travel out of country if I want to even if the true green card is not yet in my hand, I could work and she also told me to file a removal of conditions to renew my green card 90 days before it expires and then congratulates us.

Just a piece of advise to those who are about to go for interview. Prepare your evidences and be ready for the bunch questions ask and you will be fine. Good luck to those who are waiting for their schedule of interview.

  3. Yes, that is the belief of some foreigners. You cannot force him. It is really in their advisory that Mindanao is scary because of what happen to the american that was kidnapped and shot. To them it was horrible and a nightmare. Though not all the parts of Mindanao are risky. You are also after for his safety right??? Anyway you can still get some pics for the two of you. In the hotel that you are both staying, the lobby area or the nearby restaurant where you eat . Or wherever you go try to get some photos. Even at the airport when you fetch him If you have someone with you to take the pic for as long as you can get it. I wish you luck and God Bless.:dance::dance:
  4. Just be patient and pray hard. It takes me 6 weeks before i get my visa. My then fiance now my hubby call Lorraine and Sophia every other day. It is good if your husband will call the embassy as the people there attend calls from abroad more than from the Philippines, but try to call them too and ask for the status of your papers for sometimes they forget to review some pending papers due to bulk of papers that is on the CO's desk. Calling them always would remind them that you are eager and interested to know the status of your papers... I'll pray for you. While you are in the Philippines enjoy every bit of your time with your family because it will be different when you are already here. You will really miss them.

God luck and God bless.... :star::star::star:

I just told him i enjoy calling a cab, take the bus or be on the train whenever want to go out on an ordinary days except Sat and Sunday where my he is at home that i do not spend a penny in going out as he drives for me wherever i want to go.

  8. Good Day Everyone! I had a friend who come to the USA as a tourist. She married here and applied for AOS. It was granted and now she filed again for Removal of Conditions and just have her biometrics last month. With her entire stay with her husband they always quarrel and it ended with the husband hitting his wife. The wife at first did not seek police help even if she is battered because she is afraid it might affect her paper before being on AOS. It happen again when she got her greencard and this time she called the police telling them that her husband beats her whenever they had argument. It was in there that she learned that he has a case before that is CRUEL and INHUMANE resulting his first wife to divorce him(he beats his children and hits the first wife). These few days after her biometrics they had a heated argument over money that he again hit her. This time she called the police and they put her husband in jail resulting her to go to court and ask for protection. The court granted it. They were no longer live in one roof as it is in court's order that the man gets his things and leave his wife in his apartment. The problem of my friend is will it affect her pending Removal of Conditions? What will she do 'coz until now she is still waiting for her greencard. Can she proceed to apply to for US Citizenship in the future?

  10. Hi there. I saw your timeline and I noticed that your visa was already approved, it will only take a couple of weeks for your visa to arrive. Both you and your fiance waited for much longer time for your petition to be approved so a couple of weeks should be nothing. There's nothing much you can do now because it's already been approved. Tell him to just keep busy and PRAY! God bless you both and may our visa arrive soon..smile!

    Loshiel Kenny,

It is the new policy of the Embassy to check papers that was submitted to them. They do it because some were fraud. My heart goes to you as i experience same being on AR for 6 weeks. It is sad to know but we can't do anything than to wait. If your they dont ask anything from you that means all are okey and they will take time to review it again and you will soon receive your visa. Tell your fiance that it takes time and he should be supportive to you. My fiance was the one calling the embassy and inquiring the status so he should know what was going on. I suggest that he should do the same if it is not too much for him. Just pray, tell him to extend a little patience and enjoy while you are still there. I wish you the best of luck.
