Hi Spalome! I wish I could answer your question but I would like to know myself. I just applied for my daughter's AOS 2 weeks ago and she will be 21 in August so I am worried about how things will go. They have signed for her AOS but not yet cashed the checks - I am really worried because she not only turns 21 in August but also her K-2 was going to expire August 28th and the only reason we waited is because she was unsure whether or not she wanted to stay. Of course she decided to stay so we will see how it goes.
As for the 18 years old thing, I have heard that as long as you apply for AOS by 21, your (well...I won't say okay)..but that you can apply so I don't know where the 18 thing comes from......
I will be interested to see how it all turns out.
Good luck,
Julie

Thanks to everyone for there replies. I guess I will just have to let her know the consequences of not getting it now and hopefully she makes the right decision.
Thanks again.

Hi All!
We were just in the process of filing out the AOS documents for my daughter who will be 21 in August (and came on a K-2 Visa) and she is unsure whether or not she wants to stay. She is very unhappy here and wants to know what would happen if we applied at a later date. The problem is if she stays, and we apply for Advance Parole, she wants to go back and work for 3 to 6 months for good money in Canada - can she do that on an Advanced Parole????? If not, and if we apply after she is 21, does she stay in Canada until she gets her Green Card or would she have to come back for the filing of the documents and wait it out?? I hope this all makes sense and I hope someone can give us some guidance or advice.
Thank you in advance.

Hi all!
My daughter just received her NOA on her employment authorization and travel docts. It says that USCIS will arrange an appointment and sent her a notice with the date, time and place?? Has this happened to others??? Just curious because I had to make my own appt by phoning USCIS.
Just thought it was odd!!
Any thoughts?
Thanks
