Same here. Letter was dated 20 Feb. arrived 8 days later.

I’m just perturbed that we have to go all the way to B’ham for biometrics. I can get fingerprinted for an FBI background check or TSA Precheck in Huntsville. But we gotta drive 2 hours to do that for USCIS.

Our situation is almost identical. We’re in Montgomery and have to drive to Birmingham.

Yes. Same thing happened to us. I mean exactly. We got our letter on the afternoon of the 28th and we were scheduled to have our appt that morning. On the letter it has a phone number to call if you missed your appt. We called and the lady told us many people miss their appts. She took our info and told us an agent would contact us by email within ‘72 business hours’. We aren’t sure if that means 3 business days or 9 business days. Heh heh. It’s been 2 business days and nothing yet.

Well that’s a relief, I’ll be calling on Monday.

I even noticed the stamp on the envelope was February 26th and sent first class from Missouri to Alabama. There’s no way we would have received it on time, especially when our mail usually runs late in the evening.

  3. I received the letter with my biometrics appointment in the mail today(and I have checked every single day). The only problem is the appointment was set for February 28th, 2024 and now it sounds like our visa could be denied for abandonment? This is complete insanity. The automated system is saying that it might not even be able to be rescheduled since the appointment date has already passed. Any tips?

  4. Do you have to file for adjustment of status before the end of the 90 day period? Me and my wife are ready to file the I-485 but we’ve had a lot of expenses getting married and it’s a slow time of the year for my work. This is making it difficult to pay the filing fee at the moment. Her 90 days is over on February 3rd.

I’ve heard some people say that it makes no difference as long as we’re married. And others say that some people have been deported for not filing or that it can make the adjustment of status more difficult.

  5. My actual NOA2 date was April 28th but I didn’t find out about the approval until May 2nd and I just received the email from NVC stating that they had received my petition and are in the process of creating my case number.
I should probably be in the April group but I posted in the May group originally because that’s when I got the notification from the CaseTracker app.

I meant PT (actually PDT), so California time. Sorry, I do usually mix the timezone abbreviations but I was thinking California, Pacific time!
USCIS doesn't really have their working hours officially published (not that I could find) but the Google business hours for the California Center say they work 8am to 4pm. And Google says these were updated by the business/themselves 5 weeks ago too so I consider this recent/accurate since there is no other info available.

I used to scan only after 5pm PT, then started scanning after 4pm PT seeing these hours, but I did miss some updates this week because of that, so I'm back to after 5pm PT just to be sure.

Oh I see! I’m in the central time zone so I guess I’ll wait until around 7:30pm to do the daily scan of my group on case tracker. I’ve been following your posts and I wish you luck with getting approved soon!

Do not overthink things, you'll go crazy lol.

If your most recent tax return didn't meet the required income, then you can use bank statements to prove that money is getting deposited into your bank account,

paystub, etc. and maybe a letter from your employer to prove that you are a permanent worker that is earning X amount of dollars.

At the end of the day, they will only want to know if you can financially support your fiancé and not rely on the government.

Thank you! That helps to calm my nerves haha

  8. I received my NOA1 on March 25th, 2022 and im

hoping to finally receive my NOA2 in the next few weeks. But after such a long wait I’m beginning to worry about the income requirement.
Are they usually very strict or somewhat lenient when it comes to your income?

It will just be me and my fiancé, a two person household, so the amount isn’t very much. But I will only have two years of tax returns to show. Last year my income was just below the requirement and this year it is $4,000 over the requirement.
Maybe I’m feeling anxious for no reason but I’ve read online that it’s best to show many years of income that meets the requirement.
Also, does it help to have a written statement from your employer that you are earning steady income?

    as of now,

    2974  untouched for February.

    2487 untouched for January

    <1000 for December  2021

So if the USCIS can keep a pace of 800 cases processed each week, we should probably see a lot of March cases being processed by early May? And if they could somehow speed up even more to around 1,200 cases per week, we could see March being worked on by early-mid April. This is really exciting

  10. My fiancé lives in Brazil and we filed for the K-1 visa in March 2022. At the time, I was hopeful that the application would be accepted by December or January but the expected wait continues to increase. I feel like it’s way too late to try marrying and applying for the spousal visa so all we can do is wait. I haven’t seen her in person for 6 months but I have a trip planned for January. We are really hoping we don’t have to be apart for 6+ months again next year.
Now to my question, should we even bother trying to apply for a tourist visa for her to come here while I’m working? I’ve heard that application also takes 1+ years and it can be very difficult for a Brazilian without a great job or lots of assets to receive one.
We’ve even met in Cancun one time but she’s never visited the US during out two year relationship. It feels like there’s nothing we can do but wait and it’s becoming more and more difficult. Does anyone have any suggestions for her to come here while we wait for the K-1 visa?

  11. Hello, me and my fiancé filed on March 25th, 2022 but I can’t seem to find the March filers thread. Is there any real hope that the processing will speed up or does it seem like we’re most likely going to have to wait until May/June 2023 for our NOA2?

My sister and her fiancé filed in February 2021 and received their NOA2 in December 2021. Has it become exponentially slower in such a short amount of time?
