Hi SalishSea, That is the truth, the consulate would like to send out DS5535 rather that a simple approve. I am Australian citizen and also be stuck in the process from 7 March this year.

Hello, everyone. I have interviewed on 28th Feb 2023 and unfortunately been put into 221g + DS5535. I replied all the information and my AP started from 7th March. After that, my case status has been updated as below: 1st 7/3 started AP 2nd 21/3 3rd 23/3 4th 15/05 5th 19/05 Do you think that is normal and when will be suitable to file WOM, really frustrated right now. Thanks everyone.

Hi BahamaBay, Yes, I got my interview letter this morning, such a long journey and such a relief. If my memory is correct, you should also got your interview letter yesterday. Finally something good came to us at the end of this year. Really thanks for your help during this pain journey and all my best wishes for the your interview process.

@BahamaBaby Not sure the reasons why they only change the Immediate Relative and fiancé(e) visa cases dates. You mentioned they have issued the interview letters for people from July 2021, are these people holding normal EB cases or they expedited their cases. I could not find the relative information. My DQ is Dec. 2021 and still long way to wait. Hope you will get the interview letter soon.

@BahamaBaby The FB showed up the latest update of EB schedule date (still Feb 2021) I think they're dealing with expetised cases more than normal case.

@BahamaBaby Thanks for your analysis and hope some friends received their interview letters for June and July 2021. And wish you will receive your interview letter very soon. The waiting time is too long and frustrated. Hope tomorrow, us consulate sydney could keep their promise to give us the update.

Hi Bahamababy, Thanks for your informaiton. My DQ is around Dec. 2021. I remembered your DQ is around Aug. 2021 and hope you will receive the interview letter very soon.That will be very grateful if they could do something to reduce the backlog.

Hi NatP, I am on EB2, DQ Jan. 2022, still waiting for the interview. If Sydney really cleared all of 2021 and are now looking at early 2022 Dq dates, that will be good news for us.

Hi BahamaBaby, I am still waiting for the interview and how about you? Recently, the US consulate Sydney has posted a response on their facebook and after that, nothing updated. If waiting time is over one year, could we do something to force them to expedite our cases? Someone mentioned on the facebook, they transferred their cases to Fiji and got their visas very fast. No sure whether there still works, but not for New Zealand, they refused me directly. Thanks.

Hi, I have emailed the us consulate in sydney and they replied they are still dealing with backlog cases before they move. So, at this moment, I do not expect they could solve the problem very fast. If you are Australian citizen, have you ever thought apply E3 visa to go to us at first and then transfer your case to I-485?

Hi BahamaBaby and Matttham, I failed in expedite my case as Sydney consular turned it down. For EB, it is really hard to accelerate our cases and do not when the interview will come. The dark future of empolyment market in my filed make me really want to move to US to restart my career. Hope you guys could hear good news soon.

Hi BahamaBaby, From the website of US consulate in Sydney, they were reopened. How do you know there are K visas transferred to Sydney, any links? Additionally, I have talked with my lawyer and he suggested me to try to expedite the case. Hope you will receive the invitation for interview.
